slotsmagic
Slotscat is being strangely clingy this morning. I'm sure animals have a sixth sense for this kind of thing. I hope Chris is looking down on us and happy that people are still gathering resources, making layouts, building cabinets around MFME. Thanks for the last 20 years @Wizard Edited August 9, 2022 by slotsmagic 2 Currently owned digitals : T7 Encore, T7 Original, Astra iPub and Storm Street Casino. wearecity
I often read the tribute threads to Wizard. Even have a reminder in my diary regarding hearing about his death and funeral. It's great to see the scene continuing and new machines being emulated, including some very old machines. I'm sure Wizard, would love to see these in particular being DX'd.

niallquinn
You know, I'm not religious, but in the pet world, there's a thing Americans came up with, called Rainbow Bridge. The idea being, all your pets die and wait for you at Rainbow Bridge, then you all cross the bridge to meet St Peter, and go into the gates of heaven. I'd like to think there's a fruit machine version. All your mpu3 machines, all work 100%, no knackered lamps, artwork looks brand new, and you play, unlimited free spins, to your hearts content. If so, I'll see you there one day.
MPU_FIVE
Just a quick note to Chris Wren, "Wizard" to say the community miss you so much, and your amazing MFME is still very much played daily by so many people... Thank you for what you gave us all, and if they have computers where you are now, i wonder what techs you've got running in MFME v22.1 You are a legend, my friend. Best wishes to you... Gary.

slotsmagic
Shows just how amazing a gift he gave us, and how talented he was. Despite him not having been here to keep updating MFME for the last 3 years - people are still finding resources, building cabinets and releasing previously un-emulated machines. Bar the most recent stuff (most of which is utter garbage anyway) I couldn't have imagined quite how many machines would be covered. Obviously we won't know for sure (unless he ever told anyone) but I'd imagine he didn't realise quite how many machines and layouts would have been done when he first put the emulator out there. I don't think I've ever come across a piece of software with such a long lifespan. Thanks again Chris. wearecity
I think he'd be very happy to see FME still going on and new machine discoveries being made. Also that this site is still very active and generally running very smoothly and new people discovering the wonderful MFME. Continue to RIP Wizard

MPU_FIVE
3 years already.... I wonder what wonders MFME v23 would of had if Wizard was still here? Rest in peace Wizard if that's what happens after we pass out of this life, or maybe his soul is living a new life on this world or another one... I like to think that our body is like a car, and our soul that gives us our unique personality is like the driver of the "car" - so in the same way as we drive a car - when the car inevitably becomes knackered we go buy a new car and drive that, - maybe it's kind of the same with the body and the soul?.... they say we are eternal beings, so you never really know what happens. Take care Wizard, wherever you are in the universe (or multiverse) - and a massive thank you for the gift you gave us all in MFME.

I have finished
Aaah! It's such a shame about you Chris, may you forever lay here to rest. I always remember the days in 1994 upwards when I have seen the seaside arcades, played on road hog and other fruit machines and thought, oh boy! Would I like to have these in my room one day. A whole arcade in my house! Oh yes please! However, this did not come true until late 2009 2010. I discovered these fruit machine emulators from MFME V1 straight up to the wonderful V20.1 which I play to this day. I knew the hard work that was put into this, not only getting the default sounds, screen layouts but also the machines to work properly. I found road hog in the downloads, ran it in MFME, and it made the exact sounds of the real machine, and I thought, wow! A portable arcade! Ain't that neat? And the answer is a bit fat YES thanks to you! Now I can play for free all the games I used to, plus ones I still play to this day like lowtech electrocoins. Chris, may you rest in peace. From your friend of MFME, Thomas Grant, AKA I have Finished.
