4 months on, how's this going? Any further forward? Left everything for dead in arcade sim, even the clubbers. Could just start again I suppose. Thanks.

Who signed Peter Reid? At a guess without cheating Howard Kendall @ Everton? RE sc6, emu, well it would keep us going with more layouts!!! RE Fruitsnapps vid, I think that looks like an emulator, but it's an in-house dev kit? Bit like the one that's about for Pluto/Heber?

This coder, blueonesaresafer, is it someone we know? Cos they haven't submitted much, just to mpu3 that I can see. That said, I find a git a pain in the arse, as they never document what's actually been done.

There's one on ebay now, sadly I don't have a spare £1800 to buy a Falcon. Demos are really good for it, past amiga standard in some cases. There is a project to replicate the board, and sell that. Sure I read it on Atari mania. THe Falcon itself is severely flawed though, it's 32bit, but can only run in 16bit etc. Atari Falcon - Wikipedia

I'd have a Falcon now if I could get me mitts on one, Falcon scene is still alive and kicking.

Off topic, but the whole Atari Jaguar is a good story. Sinclair Research, remember the Loki, a super Spectrum, designed and built by Martin Brennnan? Sugar takes over Sinclair and sacks everyone. Brennan goes onto create it as the Flare1, then flare2, then the great Konix (saw it at the PCW show in 89 complete with chair it was mint), Konix goes bust, takes the tech to Atari, creates the Atari Panther, again scrapped, reworked it into the released Atari Jaguar. Now imaging having the Loki in 86, instead of 93?

It knocked us all for six mate. Still have a non-alcoholic lager in August on that day to remember him.

So a mate tells me. ^

Regarding the clones, Qtech and Takis. There's little nuances appearing, they're not complete clones. Eg the latest Next core, uses the main sd to boot, and it's the only core that can use the secondary sd as another drive, well that didn't work on the clones, as according to Sorg they don't have that bit wired up, so the core had to be modified for that to work. Other ones I've heard of, no sound in various arcade games, again due to a shortcut. Various gfx problems, various input problems. I'm sure more things will materialize. Don't get me wrong, I bought Takis megapack as a 2nd Mister for 150quid, but it's not a complete clone, as I found out and made it dual ram. The dual ram works, but then you can't plug in the audio board, so don't get analog sound out, only digital. Nor do you get it via HDMI, cos that bit isn't there either. Bought a 20quid convertor this week, to convert the fibre 3.55mm lead digital sound back to analog. The public are buying them in 1000's, but the cores have to be modified in the case of the Next to work with them, most of the devs don't like them. It's hard enough to copy a chip with 50,000 transistors on it without having to fanny on with other stuff. I wish I knew Verilog, and had the patience. The devs are fantastic people, I pay most of them on Patreon. Sorg for everything, Jotego, Electron Ash (do you read his posts on the Dreamcast core in discord, it's fascinating stuff). Even if it is aimed at Mikes Replay 2 which should see the light next year.

Top tip, do not buy it from any reseller. Only buy it from someone who runs the server(s) themselves. not off some dick down the pub. Otherwise, it'll be shite, more buffering than the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. 384 channels of Nutflix. And about 100,000 other channels and VOD, catchup etc. Love multiscreen, watch our match on one half of the telly, watch the boro/sheff united/Leeds or whoever is playing in the top 6 of the championship around us. It used to be only sky, now you can literally watch every single game, including the national league, and that's just the footy. If you're into your sport, or films in 4k it's the bollocks. All the ISPs have various means of detection and blocking, except I get a free VPN with mine, so it doesn't matter. Nothing gets blocked, or buffers, or stutters, using TVImate that's built into the telly. Amazon not very good at blocking stuff either. A 3 year old kid could jailbreak a firestick. Press a button 5 times for the dev options, using downloader to get whichever tv player you want, and it installs fine. That said, I happily watch the Sherlock Holmes channel on Pluto every day, legally, for nowt. I like Pluto, you get hardly any adverts, and it's the biggest tv streaming platform in the world.

Love my Mister, got right into it, doing testing and feedback for the Jag dual ram cores and Slamys CDI core at the moment.
-
I know. I lived with 2 married lasses for a while.
-
Yeah, but I'd settle with just watching.
-
13 and happy wanking over this. Either that or that lass out of the Fall Guy.

A lot of money for just emulated games you can get for nowt. Only interesting bit is IK++ and Last Ninja 4 PC that Archer was working on when he died.

Doh. Thanks @spa

Not unless Re-Animater, can be reanimted. Since Chrisses passing a few years ago, obiouvsly nothing has progressed. I was hoping the person in charge of his pc's and code would have put something out, via github, then at least anyone can chip in, But I guess that's up to the family to decide to be allowed, and the person in charge. Don't know if he's still here, is still currently at the Mecca, but, it's still a touchy question to ask.
-
Sort of sussed it, it only accepts coins in, and able to press buttons, when mfme is also on screen?
-
Installed, all up and running, MFME installed. Yes, I can't inser coins on any machine, either via the leybaord shortcuts or clicking on the coin in etc. Any ideas? Thanks.

Source code / disassembly / reverse engineering question.

Nice read this thread. @Garywould have an insight if he's still around. He's still on FB. Don't think I've seen him post here since Wizard passed though. -
@RegYeah crazy shit isn't it, travelling miles cos someone has a 26" Triniton they're chucking out for the VGA games. Although I do like also having some cores on the HDMI, like the Amiga, ST, Archimedes. Yeah it's loooking like it's going to be cheaper than a 100 for the clone board and memory, then just buy a microsub to usb 4 port adaptor, and you're away. I've got a nice set up, main board, bought a nice see through blue case, the USB board etc. Keyboard and mouse bluetooth, using an usb controller, but might buy a decent bluetooth one - everyone on discord going on about latency etc. We're all 50 or 60 now, a few MS doesn't matter!!! Bulit myself c64c. Well it's a c64c case, pi3b running a bare metal version of Vice, with the Keyrah fitted on the side where the 2 joystick ports, and power in go. All the back ports I've blocked off with similar plastic, painted. But use the tv tunder for 3.5mm stereo out, the video port for a USB port to plug in stuff I only want to try temporarily, using the casette port as an SD card adaptor, with the microsd in, so I don't need to open it all up to add stuff if needs be. Got the entire CSDB site, The curent Gamebase, the Oneload collection, every tape released cos I still like loading the ocean games for the "ocean loader" etc. Taken me about 6 months, a few days to build it, and the rest of time, to buy extender cables, fit plastic plates with the right sized port, HDMI, or whatever. Chuffed with it, boots in under 2 seconds. Andrew.

Ooooo, ya bugger, I'm after this, the first one was free, but the 2nd one you've got to buy - It's only 7/8 quid though. Me and me mate were talking, if you look forums, and itchio, there's more spectrum games coming out now every week, than there was back in the day when every week you went to your local computer shop, bought the latest release you were after, and a couple of Mastertronic games. Even more so on the 64, if your a member at CSDB, it's the same, 100 releases a week, all cracked and trained. And the demos now on a 64, wow, proper trackmos, so it's already loaded the next part before you get to it. Back in 87 a 64 megademo, was one part, press space, wait for the next part to load and unpack! Content-wise, it's better than it was when we were 14. These releases are quality stuff mainly, not knocked up crap in basic. I was playing the two new versions of manic miner the other night, why? Well Manic Miner came out on the NDS a few years ago with different levels, so a bloke did that for the Spectrum. At the same time he released Manic Miner The Lost levels, It's MM on the spectrum, but the 20 levels are all the one that are legit but you won't have seen. Some are from the Dragon32 release of MM, some are from the Oric release of MM, one is out of the Ams 464 release etc. All because at the time, because of the other machines limitation, Bug Byte/Software Projects couldn't do a direct port because of the machines memory and other limitations and so on. Still waiting for the Quest for the golden eggcup 128k, or on the Next though

@PeteWow, I know this is going back a few years, but you'd get 600 quid for it now. Although @Reg have you seen the clone DE10 on twitter/YT, 100 quid for the board (I paid 220 quid direct from Digikey), and 15 quid for the 128meg ram (I paid 50 quid for the ram from the mister addons uk shop). I love it, you've got all those arcades, every 8 bit, 16bbit, and 32bit Archimedes computers. Every early generation condoles from the nes, master system, to the snes, and megadrive, to the N64 and Saturn, and everything in between. All the Gameboys, NEOGEO, PcEngine, and of course the PSX1 etc etc. Working on two projects, 1 with the dos 0mhz collection, did my first cd game to VHD last night PGA Tour 486. And with another lad, doing an Amigavision style release for ST demos. All the classics like the Big Demo, Union Demo, stuff by TCB to the current releases. Not played MFME for months, go to work, come home, play with Mister, weekends here looking after my mam whilst my dad does his taxing. She was in hospital for 3 months last Autumn, pneumonia, TB (fucking TB in 2023!), then pneumonia again, as well as being diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, I didn't mind nursing when I did it as a job in the 90's, but it's no fun when you're washing your own mothers bits in the bath. Anyway, I'm good, clean, sober, lost 4 stone from 20 to 16. And doing great. Scary fact, I'm in charge of people at work! I hope anyone who sees this is to - see you in another few months. Take care of the ones you love, cos at anytime you can lose them someone said to me at a funeral yesterday. Very true. Take care all the crew, and hello to any newbies!
