Reading that reminds me of when I first started doing the layouts and I was getting confused which was which. I was loading a version, thinking it was the one I was working on and then realised that it wasn't and I couldn't get my head round it at first but after a while, I used to make a backup copy of it after I'd been working on it for a while and have a directory called "Own Layouts" where I then have subdirectories of the machines I'm working on and within that, a folder called Completed.

One thing I did was to Zip them up and I'd forgotten about some of them because I had deleted the directory they were in and they didn't show up when I chose Load Game.

It's all a good learning curve and I'm glad I can do things to help whenever I can :)

One thing I realised is that sometimes when I upload a new machine, the "Follow this file" option isn't ticked, so I have to make sure I tick it to get notifications :D

I didn't realise that following a file was even a thing, but I've now turned it on :)

Yes I had versions of the layout called 'FINAL', but made some other alterations and ended up with FINAL1, FINAL2 e.t.c, same with the artwork, some of it in folders called 'FINAL' or 'RELEASE' but then with some subfolders within them.

It's no surprise my garage and indeed most of my life is cluttered and disorganised despite my best efforts and intentions :D

  2. Cheers for the heads up - I did fix that before release but uploaded the wrong version!

I'll sort it out once back home, won't be long :)

(edit - 22/03/24 17:24) Version 1.1 uploaded. Genuinely a bit gutted about that, to be honest I'm very messy when I make layouts - multiple folders with multiple versions and then multiple versions within those folders. Zipped the wrong damn one up :)

One issue it does raise is that I had no idea of the comments regarding the issue until a moment ago when I went to download the layout on my MFME cab downstairs, and noticed the 8 comments. I didn't realise I didn't get any kind of notifications for those? Perhaps it's because I wasn't tagged? But I get plenty of notifications for the 'release area' forum thread, just not for the replies under the file in the download section :)

Many thanks to @Multi Retro Man and @BarXQueen for your efforts in solving it for people on the thread while I was oblivious to the issue :)

I didnt know that, about not having a Ram, makes sense though. I feel starting from a clean slate is always good, but you cant beat a Ram thats in a happy mood

I (and others) could easily cobble together some mental RAM files. I put Celtic Gold £100 ROMs in my Jackpot 7s cab in the garage, and knocked back wins to the point it went utterly mental. Not sure if that works on these or not, I haven't tried it. Surprised me as I was led to believe they were purely sequence based - yet there was definitely compensation going on as once I'd stopped knocking wins back the floodgates opened. Must have paid £1000 or so over about 100 credits.

I have a Rom card with the 10p £5 version roms hopefully going to send to @slotsmagic next week sometime with some other roms as he kindly volunteered to dump them. Looks like the tech is Pluto 5.

Brilliant stuff! I look forward to a good day of dumping :)

if Joker Poker runs in MFME I'd be so happy, but I'd also be surprised as I'd expect it to have been done before. Pretty common machines :)

    Nice layout!

BTW I am an absolute newbie when it comes to fruit machine terminology. Can anyone explain what flat and soft sessions mean? Thanks!

I've had conflicting information. My understanding is that flat plays flat profile between runs - so it shouldn't save up for mini streaks before the main streak. Whereas soft offers mini streaks.

I honestly don't know for sure though. Just know I've got a mountain of Concept ROMs I had to organise :)

You know, I wondered why these games needed Ctrl + R pressing. No RAM file explains why :D

    Always learning new things :)

I would ordinarily release a RAM, but with all these layouts I figured they may as well start from a level playing field. My fault for including so many ROM variants and .game files I think :D

So I opted for the £100 JP - 4 game files came through, each of them fire up with an error, any ideas?

I see your comments has already been answered (not sure why I didn't get a notification, unless I need tagging to get one?) - glad to see you have it sorted. I've now underlined and emboldened the text about the bit about needing to reset the machine. I could have released each layout with a RAM file I guess. Might do that in the future. I'm just used to the error, reminds me I'm playing a set from a reset :)

Think you can work your magic on a Red Hot Roll? :D

I've been lucky with the existing artwork... it's only when I was bored one night and thought 'didn't I play some online versions with nice art?', and this project all spiralled from there.

If there was decent art for Red Hot Roll I could certainly have a go. I do have the T7 version but not sure if I could rip the assets from it, or if they'd be any good. Also the fact that I'm more of an image 'manipulator' rather than an artist doesn't help :)

  9. Thanks to everyone for downloading and their feedback. I've hopefully got the £25 and £70 SESSION ROMs working correctly now - they are included as separate downloads as they use different lamp numbers (why?!!), and it's easier to just download working layouts than expect people to keep editing existing things to make them work :)

Also, I didn't realise that non of the layouts had working shortcuts for TRANSFER buttons, I've gone back and added them back in so hopefully these are now in a better state.

    Apologies! :)

Thanks @slotsmagic for these great machines shame about the concept roms they seem tight hope the electrocoin roms becone available at some point other than that great machines thanks again

They pay exactly to percentage in the long term, but in a different way to Electrocoin. You'll probably find they go on a decent run at some point to catch up, but might take a few credits to do it!

    Cheers :)

Thank you, I've put the 30p £35 in my cabinet! Looks mint, I do recall Concept Roms being rather tight, 100's over the back before a win etc.

There's so many ROM versions and whatnot. I have one of these locally and it's not a bad game but does go through spells of £50 or so without a win. Then again it's to be expected really with a lower stake - prize ratio, and even a normal Electrocoin can go on a massive munch.

Much better to play at home. I did wonder if the £1 play might be a better stake, but I was worried than halving the amount of dead spins, it might just save up for an even bigger run. I think there was a 50p/£35 ROM which again - could improve gameplay on the £35 version... or just make for a bigger run. Part of the fun of having 100s of ROMs I guess!!

Many thanks for this one. I wish it would give real money as I stuck about £7 in and got nearly £40 back!... :D

I had it playing in auto for a little while before release, so it owes a couple of hundred quid. Once it's done a bit of a streak I'm sure it'll be back to it's normal awful ways.

thanks for the new variant and option..

as skinny as it is it looks fekking awesome in full screen

I honestly hadn't tried it in full screen but it does look rather nice in portrait mode. I keep meaning to actually set up another portrait mode display for layout designing, for when I *finally* get around to finishing my MFME cabinet.

Many thanks looks really good. Never seen one of these before so shall enjoy having a play.

I'd only seen 2, the one that I lost £130 in and the one I was shown to play properly and did quite well on! It's hard to work out what is going on with this machine, what with the artwork I worked from being different to the machine I played. It's almost like they had the name and couldn't quite work out which ROMs to shove in :)

  13. Cheers for this! Not a fan of these games (did own a Crazy Fruits Club once, had to sell it as it bored me to tears getting the top board and always getting something annoying like £20 forced on me!!) but the theme is nice.

As for the refill issue, it'll almost certainly be a switch but with the test mode being pretty basic it would be trial and error working out which one 😮

(There is a microswitch under the hopper on some types of hopper, and the weight of the coins pushes down on the switch and closes it. Even though the float value might be right, if the switch isn't pressed on to close it, the machine will think the hopper is empty. Shouldn't affect gameplay).

Hi, I downloaded the file this morning, but the game wasn't being found by MFME. I eventually found that the game is filtered as WIP. So I think this is why I couldn't find it.

It is a fantastic looking layout, and being a fan of python the soundset is superb. You've done an incredible job with the graphics. I really appreciate your hard work.

With my first £1 in I gambled to the jackpot and got a repeat. So I might have to stop at that :)

    Thanks.

Many thanks for highlighting the WIP tag, will sort that out now :)

I did release it with a drift (how much the machine owes back to the player) of over £45 so it should do a jackpot and maybe a couple of repeats, and then it'll go back to how it would play 'normally'. It's still only had £150 in from reset so it's a long way off having settled long-term though :)

How ironic, I picked up couple of old versions of this yesterday as wanted abit of nostalgic playtime, and then these pop up :)

Great work mate, and many thanks on a classic, thats still about in my local seaside towns, but im waiting for the 3 player sit down one :)

    1 hour ago, MikeyPosh said:

What I didnt realise is, these are exactly that of the 3 player sit down I want, but just single player. The ones I got yesterday were old school, Im even more thrilled now - Many Many Many Thanks

These are single player ROMs by Empire, from the £35 jackpot era. The previous machines were by Vivid in the £25 jackpot era, and I'm pretty sure they only game as a sit down with plasma video top  game, or normal game board. Gameplay seems to be pretty similar, but 1 thing I did notice is that I had a 'let em spin' a minute ago, on the £35 version, with feature symbols on the winline. I expected it to give 3 symbols on the winline for an invincible mode, but it just gave 3 symbols in view instead.

Glad you are enjoying it :)

    Some feedback for you -

On the £5 Jp, I full screen it with F3 key, like I do all my machines, and get the backdrop effect, and plays & looks perfect, escape kep brings me out of the full screen like normal

On the £35 I can full screen it, and play it as normal, but coming out of full screen, it brings me to a strecthed screen, so can't goto the file of MFME, might be something my end with screen or something, but never had that before with any other layout, and as I said, the £5 JP is perfect, but the £35 JP, only way I could come out the game, was to hit windows key, right click the mfme and close window that way

Not a real biggy but thought id mention it, the £35 took loads from me, before finally getting in only to be blown out on the 2nd spin with a roll even - Hahah

That's odd... just tried it on mine and it worked fine on both £5 and £35 versions. To be honest I hadn't actually tried this in full-screen yet, normally I would play that way but forgot about it when putting this together. I'll try on my other PC and see if it's different as it's a different resolution :)

Regarding point 3 above, if you put 10 into the Lock Switch in the config, you don't need to fiddle with that checkbox:

    capture.JPG

    ... how did I miss that?! :D

Also the layout looks a bit washed out on this monitor. It looked fine upstairs, so either I've done something wrong while archiving, uploading and downloading the layout on this other PC, or it was always a bit washed out looking and just didn't look it on my other monitor.

I'll almost certainly be revisiting this at some point, I'll also gladly scan the flyer and upload to anyone who wants a high-quality one so they can do a better job! :)

Thank you for this, loved this game in the arcades. :D

I may do a DX on this at some point, unless someone's already doing one?

I've got the flyer here, quite fancy a go at doing a £15 layout myself? Flyer isn't great but is on the original £15 which is a positive I guess :)

Any reason why the top reels spin upwards? I'm sure the real machine wouldn't do this

Valid point, I wasn't sure if they wouldn't or not but I guess I've not seen many machines where they spin upwards.

Absolutely fixable. Will redo the reel positions and update the layout later on. Obviously it works as-is so there wouldn't be any need for people to download again unless they were annoyed with the reels :D

(edit) @Wizard - I've set the reels to reversed, set the symbols to default numbers, and saved the layout. I then reload the layout, start playing the machine in real money on auto-play, and start dragging the symbols into place according to the alpha display and lamps. However, this doesn't seem to work. It's almost like the bands are moving throughout play. Any ideas? For example, the first position on top reel 2 (reel 7 in the reel editor) seems to alternate between a horseshoe and a sheriff badge at random! Happens to lots of other symbols - just when I think it's sorted, it seems to go out of sync without erroring. Any idea? :)

Pretty enjoyable stuff.  Did a Super Crazy Reels pretty much right from the off for around £40, repeating a couple of times.  Wish that would ever have happened in the wild!

I played it with real money while testing it, I was trying to work things out rather than play it well so it'll owe a few jackpots from when you open it :)

If you want a more realistic experience you can reset the RAM via the config screen :)

same issue with the wheel, but also using on a laptop, but other than that its great.

@slotsmagic Note Acceptor seems to work fine on machine, as does the Transfer button.

Not sure if the bottom light on the wheel is wrong lamp number.

There should actually be a piece of artwork covering the bottom of the reel - it's probably where the reel opto sensor and stuff were hidden on the original machine.

If I get around to doing a fixed version I'll implement it :)
