  1. Firstly, thanks to @johnparker007 for this excellent setup that he has done - honestly had a real blast making this video - the time was a literal time sink. For anyone that has not seen this, perhaps if you choose to watch this video - this maybe the day that you choose to give Arcade Simulator a play - everybody at DIF should do this. I know we are moving to Oasis in terms of what is going to happen - but this is the right time at least for me to do an series of these videos. I'll post updates if we have updates on Arcade Simulator moving to Oasis and keepp this chain of videos going. @johnparker007 your work has hit it out the park here. For anyone else trying this video, there is a little experiement in the intro - if you have never played Arcade Simulator before but remember arcades from old, please do this.

Contains the v0.2k Romset. Quickly tested by @Chopaholic (Thank You) who doesn't think these are the force for streak roms unfortunately but they do contain an IM board eventually. Everything should be ok - Multicoin input available for @Mort

  7. I've not been up to doing much at all in the way of coding recently, hopefully slowly on the mend though And as such, I've been starting planning the next step in the 'Arcade Simulator' journey... Taking Arcade Simulator as our proof of concept (that we can run a large multiplayer arcade in realtime on a consumer PC with fruit machines and video games) - I think the plan should now be to build this into a fully open source project (hosted on github), that will be broken up into sub-projects. Just some initial thoughts on how this will be structured: This will be a large slow project! But at least we have now seen from Arcade Simulator that it is all actually possible, I honestly didn't know currents PCs were yet fast enough to run all those machines, back when I started it all As there will be separation between the 'apps', this will hopefully make it a bit more accessible for coders, for instance someone might be keen to work on the machine library app, but not be comfortable with 3d game coding, so that now won't be an issue. Also, this new project will be taking on the hard issues, such as people not being able to convert a fruit machine layout of their own from MFME format to something that can ultimately run in the arcade. I will still be using the existing 'MFME window scraping' technique for the extractor, as it does work, but I will add in various safeguards to try make it as safe as possible, things like: - scrape a layout a little slower - if a human generated mouse/keyboard input is detected, abort scraping - continuous 'window focus' watchdog strategies to detect desyncing during scraping - a warning popup to be ok'd that shows at start of every extraction; "This is experimental, while safeguards have been implemented, there is the potential for data loss, use at your own risk!" It will all take a long time to set all this up, and port the existing Arcade Sim systems into OASIS (especially assets that are licenced on a 'per seat' basis - in some cases I may be able to work with those asset creators on a solution to allow for use in open source, otherwise we need to roll our own)... but, the idea is that the project will ultimately no longer hinge on me doing it all! As now we have the working proof of concept in Arcade Sim, it makes most sense long term to build a future-proof platform - so if I were to meet an untimely demise in the future (RIP Chris) - the project could continue to grow and develop. The name OASIS came from the book Ready Player One "This is the Oasis. It's a place where the limits of reality are your own imagination. You can do anything, go anywhere. Like the Vacation Planet. Surf a 50-foot monster wave in Hawaii, you can ski down the Pyramids, you can climb Mount Everest with Batman. Check out this place. It's a casino the size of a planet! You can lose your money there, you can get married, you can get divorced, you can...you can go in there. People come to the Oasis for all the things they can do, but they stay because of all the things they can be: tall, beautiful, scary, a different sex, a different species, live action, cartoon, it's all your call. Yeah, that's me...well, that's my avatar, at least until I feel like changing it. Except for eating, sleeping and bathroom breaks, whatever people want to do, they do it in the Oasis. And since everyone is here, this is where we meet each other. This is where we make friends." - Wade Watts talking about the OASIS

Time to step back to the 1990's to earn some Mega Bucks, will you streak this and take home pockets full of tokens or will it cost you a buck or two!! Remember playing this once but not a machine seen that often in the arcades as it was the same era as the mighty cloud 999 and nickelodoen so may not have been as popular as them, a simple machine , simply match the numbers to win the cash prize, three boxed numbers double the wins. Flyer within the file if needed. Thanks goto @Pook for his original dx made way back in 2005 for lamping references and the reel bands etc @Ross for the band gradient from his recent release (addams family, great dx's a well worth download!!) to various members for font ID help which budged me into finding a near match for the cash decals Shortcuts are as standard. Enjoy and Happy Gaming!!!!!!

Roll Up, Roll Up, take a seat and go for a ride in this fun filled roller coaster of a slot from project coin (cir1996), have the thrill of your life on the big wheel or the dodgems, make a splash on the log flume or join the show in the Big Top. Collect golden tickets to hit the jackpot!!! Thanks goto @BL4K For giving images of his machine to @infection including the reel symbols and especially the orange balloon, not sure what the hidden feature symbol is on the 2nd reel so made it a big top tent. Also thanks goto @hitthesix for the original classic i made my classic and now this dx from @Tommy c for font help and maybe Mr p's for the original roms from his machines uploaded a few years back via the mecca Now onto the layouts... the £5 seams fine but the £8/£10 version is asking for its stake/jackpot key? which it then defaults to its £8T/20p program also some of the lamps may seam out of place when you collect a win etc, but doesn't affect the fab gameplay inside shortcuts are as standard Plays in Mfme v201. Percentage switch / checkboxes now added to All thanks to @Ginge text file included within each file for the various percentage settings Enjoy and Happy gaming

  16. Ok a small update on the Layout Editor component of Oasis, here is a demo of it importing an MFME Extraction (of Vectra's Popeye layout). It now places the lamps, and flickers them just to show they are there as separate editor components within the project:

This is strange machine, a little different to the standard fayre of the time. After about 20 quid through this machine, you'll see all the tricks. Boxed numbers work the same as other machines such as cloud 999 with clouds and 777 heaven with it's boxes. If cash pot is offered, it's in a dead phase, that much I have found out through real life, and emulation. So....back in the day there wasn't many of these, even on my rounds in the arcades in the north west. Quicksilvers in liverpool had one, and it was tucked away at the very back of the arcade. But you could hear it, and yes we all sharked the machines. If I heard the cash pot win, I ignored it. Also if boxed wins are given a lot, 2.40 and below, it's not in a great mood either, but once you break through with a token win, you're pretty much getting close. Go for token wins under 4.80, jackpots are thin on the ground, and mystery wins can give it. There was a 2nd incarnation when the 6 quid jackpot arrived, and it was a much tighter game, and the streaks where flatter. PCP I recall had their clone called XXX Cash in a project cabinet, and this was a token dump, once it got happy. But getting it happy took a lot of cash, which I couldn't be bothered with. Megabucks had a good balance of cash and tokens. There was another machine at the time called blank cheque, and I know very little about it, as I saw it only once, in Blackpool North at the coffee shop / snacks. Played a few quid, and the was a ghost symbol that said "CHEQUE" when 3 on the win line. Other wise it stayed dark. Great machine, and good times. rarely lost on this machine, but it does have a long dead phase. Statto
