What's going on with the reels near the end there lol have they span too fast and fallen off? Do we need to get an engineer out?

Have to confess, no idea what went wrong with those at the end!  I've not seen it do that before... looking at it for a bit over breakfast, then can get some proper work in tonight, hopefully get some of these bugs fixed :)

Thanks for the thanks @Big J and thanks for the S6's @slasher ! :)

Been a lot more work with these alpha displays than I thought... making progress though :)  Everything has ended up a bit smaller again now I've got the accurate scale from matching a video, so need to beef them up a bit to work around the graphics issue.  Fixed various corrupt character issues, sorted out the 3x fonts that they can be set to since I found my £ sign was coming out as the & character, and also got the 'dot' working which involved far too much work lol, close up screenshot below of a working dot, since it kinda gets lost at the moment as it's so small, scales down to nothing!

Also got the nice fading in/out working... maybe another night on it and they'll be done enough...

Brief vid, shows the fading and the new correct scale (though now the segment lines are a bit too thin again)

Bit more tinkering with the alpha display, dot very slightly more visible.  Got Indy in the 2nd WIP Vogue cab, along with alpha display.  Going to need some more work on the never-ending alpha display task (scaling, getting correct character set to auto-map, Indy has some wrong characters), plus some missing black metal bits around the edges of glass, and getting Vogue and arcade machine to correct scales (they're too large, plus I have the Vogue measurements now)... then I can start converting some more Vogue machines :)

You mean Sys 5, Scorp 2 and a few M1A's;)

Planning to get some Vogues done alongside some bugfixes in the short term, but plan is to model some of the other popular cabs next (think I have resources for Electra, Genesis, Reflex, and some other bits) :)

Also - does anyone know of a place where there's a large collection of old fruit machine flyer images please?   Perhaps a google drive somewhere that someone might be awesome enough to share..? :)  I had another look for side pics and found this flyer.  These flyers are great, because it shows both the full machine side panel profile for me to model, plus it has the exact width/height/depth dimensions.

You could ask BF74 or Riche100 over on the Mecca, they would be the best to ask imo. There is most probably a few about who have a whole database of flyers but those two would of been my first choice especially with their knowledge and history with the old three reelers, looks like @riche100 is on here though, they are more into the real McCoy and for reels that spin.

On another note what fruitys do you like playing, just curious because you are a bit mix and match on your vids?

Thanks, I've added those usernames and a note to my todo list for cabinet modelling tasks :)

I used to play the oldies really, back in the late 80s->mid-late 90s - they're all pretty cool though :)

Let me know what you need JP.  I will get flyers to you mate.  Did you want a decent flyer for each tech, so you have a cab source that covers all possible cabinets?

I will put them on my one drive and send you them, just give me the nod, I got some spare time this evo ;)

Wouldn't surprise me if you have a ton of them but bet there is even more over at the Mecca with those trojans.

Done more work on Vogue machines, have 3 more converted - with various issues:

- cab scale is wrong (too large) but I have the measurements, so just a couple of hours to get that sorted and everything approximately remapped again

- alpha displays are showing reversed text (as well as a few wrong characters).  Indy's is only not reversed as I manually fixed it, will be implementing reversed alphas in the converter

- alpha scales are wrong, a few things involved with that, will keep working on it

- can't insert coins to play as not scraping out the coin mech as a 'panel'.  Probably will just put a temp panel in to get them all going, ultimately all coin mechs/bill validators will be 3d models with rom lighting (and clickable input)

- some black metal trim missing allowing to 'see inside' the machine

...so generally a good few nights work still on all that lot to get them vaguely good enough to move onto some new cabs :)

Finding some very handy info scanning through this collection of flyers @A:E has kindly sent :)

So I now realise that PCP only manufactured 'kits' to apply to other manufacturers cabinets (which explains how I was seeing PCP games in what appeared to be Smash n Grab type cabinets... I thought they might be sister companies, or share the same cabinet builder - but this all makes much more sense!

So - the 'Smash n Grab' cabinet, as I have been calling it, is apparently called the 'Barcrest High Top' cabinet (though Jaye mentioned 'Barcrest Roll Top' so maybe they're the MPU4s with the grey metal like S&G...), and the nearly identical cabinet (that just seems to have the metal overlaid bars removed on the top glass) is called the 'Barcrest Caberet' cabinet, at least according to PCP:

Also - they give the 'families' of machines that use the cabinet (at least as the family stood at the time they printed their advertising) - again super useful to know :)

It'll be great for the big spreadsheet this, so I can 'deploy' new cab models to the various machines that used them :)
