I'm looking to do some form of avatar customisation, it'll be the same system (for bots) as used for online multiplayer. I did some tests absolutely ages back when I was looking at multiplayer dev, though I may use a different system when it comes to doing it for real further down the line: Not sure about any FME Deathmatches though haha 3 1 [ Arcade Simulator ] Pre-alpha installer: http://arcadesimulator.net | Known Issues: https://tinyurl.com/yz4uom2e | Donation info: https://tinyurl.com/yzvgl4xo [ Community Drive ] The drive: http://tinyurl.com/yckze665 [ Fruit Machine Database ] Initial google sheets (WIP): https://tinyurl.com/2c5znxzz [ Fruit Machine ROM Archive ] The archive: https://tinyurl.com/3jhzbueb [ MFME Launch ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/MFMELaunch [ Oasis ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/Oasis [ Sound ROM Editor ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/SoundRomEditor

You just forget about them, when there's a nice friendly community like we have here... and then bam; someone's swearing at you and calling your work crap! Hopefully a new patch going live tonight with fresh machines anyway, back the positive vibes You have the full support of the real community in this site, unfortunately idiots have learnt to type (not write) and they exist, but they are the minority and the work you’re doing speaks for itself in ways far more reaching than any troll stuff could ever come close to. Thanks for your efforts with what is a dream come true for me! johnparker007
A new patch is live - adds a bunch of new machines, in various states of working/brokenness! Some of these have various minor issues, missing buttons, no red lamps, reel problems - it's all been noted down, and a lot of bugs are on the spreadsheet. A few are not playable at present (in list below). I have a couple of weeks working on building/converter improvements, then it's onto a round of upstream bugfixing - so it'll take a while for each bug, but then that bug shouldn't happen for future conversions, so overall faster in the big scheme of things Machines added (non playable in red) Treble Top - no working start buttons Treasure Island Jackpots - plays Top Loader - no boot (Reel 4 missing) The Winsons - plays Star Paws - plays Quid Vicious - plays Pug Life - plays Police Squid - plays Oliver's Twist - plays Meerkats In Black - plays Looty Call - plays Jackpotter - no coin Gold Diggers - no coin Full Throttle - plays Full Metal Jackpot- plays Family Guy Drunken Clam - no coin Easy Streak - no coin Lockbuster- plays Golden Nugget- plays Cleudo Super Sleuth- plays Cash Exploder- plays Andy Capp- plays Edited October 6, 2021 by johnparker007 8 2 [ Arcade Simulator ] Pre-alpha installer: http://arcadesimulator.net | Known Issues: https://tinyurl.com/yz4uom2e | Donation info: https://tinyurl.com/yzvgl4xo [ Community Drive ] The drive: http://tinyurl.com/yckze665 [ Fruit Machine Database ] Initial google sheets (WIP): https://tinyurl.com/2c5znxzz [ Fruit Machine ROM Archive ] The archive: https://tinyurl.com/3jhzbueb [ MFME Launch ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/MFMELaunch [ Oasis ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/Oasis [ Sound ROM Editor ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/SoundRomEditor

matrix2021
Just wanted to say how amazing this all is, and many thanks to John for the effort that's been put into the project. As a lurker (but been around since 2003) I remember playing the first classic (I think it was Luxor??) and its just crazy to think how far it's all come. I've not been able to experience it for myself due to having a laptop from the middle ages, but have enjoyed the various videos from Chopaholic/Degsy on the updates. I realise the cabinets take a bit of work to design and it's all in the infancy stages, but it's been doing my head that I can't remember the name of the popular Barcrest cabinet (which I dont think I've seen in the simulator) from possibly the late 90's early 00's - I'm thinking Cash Lines, possibly Big Brother? Thanks again!

chrimbobells
It would be great to see some more £6/8/15 machines in there at some point in the future as I find they tended to play better (and naturally were often trail-based, which I enjoy more) - I do appreciate there is a lot of work that is behind this all though so I certainly don't expect anything and what's already there is amazing.

Those cabinets will come at some point down the line For now I only have a few 3d models of cabinets built, so they're the games that are getting converted... once I have the Genesis, Roll Top etc modelled, there'll be a lot more of that era of machines being built. Maybe getting onto more modelling in a couple of months, depending how other stuff goes... 1 1 [ Arcade Simulator ] Pre-alpha installer: http://arcadesimulator.net | Known Issues: https://tinyurl.com/yz4uom2e | Donation info: https://tinyurl.com/yzvgl4xo [ Community Drive ] The drive: http://tinyurl.com/yckze665 [ Fruit Machine Database ] Initial google sheets (WIP): https://tinyurl.com/2c5znxzz [ Fruit Machine ROM Archive ] The archive: https://tinyurl.com/3jhzbueb [ MFME Launch ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/MFMELaunch [ Oasis ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/Oasis [ Sound ROM Editor ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/SoundRomEditor

In 'a while' (2-3 months) I'm hoping to have the rolltop and very similar 'non-rolltop' cabinets made (as they're less complex than the Genesis) so then that era of machines can start to be worked on 38 minutes ago, Chopaholic said: Many thanks for the updates and your continued efforts with this project @johnparker007 - it is very much appreciated Awesome man, thanks for making another video about the project! As you correctly concluded in the video, for the 'realtime machine light reflections' feature, they are indeed too expensive an effect to do on all the machines in their current state, so I just switch them on for the one you're playing. And yes, plenty of bugs, but working on that! 3 [ Arcade Simulator ] Pre-alpha installer: http://arcadesimulator.net | Known Issues: https://tinyurl.com/yz4uom2e | Donation info: https://tinyurl.com/yzvgl4xo [ Community Drive ] The drive: http://tinyurl.com/yckze665 [ Fruit Machine Database ] Initial google sheets (WIP): https://tinyurl.com/2c5znxzz [ Fruit Machine ROM Archive ] The archive: https://tinyurl.com/3jhzbueb [ MFME Launch ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/MFMELaunch [ Oasis ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/Oasis [ Sound ROM Editor ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/SoundRomEditor
johnparker007
Tech update Now I've got that last patch out of the way, I've been working on improvements/automation/bugfixes for the conversion workflow, so I can improve my iteration time a bit for actual machine bugfixes/improvements. That work's already bearing some fruit; so it was now much less time-consuming to do some 'upstream' bugfixes/work... here is a vid showing Smash 'n' Grab as a test example of fixing the segment alpha displays (so Smash 'n' Grab seven segment display no longer reversed). Also showing a colorful test, on Wok 'n' Roll, you can see each of the 4x seven segment displays is a different color (they're all yellow on Wok 'n' Roll). So a bit later on, all segment alphas should be in the correct hue as determined from the layout (as they're not all red, I just had that color hard-coded for initial development).
