    Bonanza £8 Dx

This game loved to kill you when you were on the board just before the jackpot

    DOND - Skill

never seen this one. What did you have to do that made it skill?
  3. hard work to get a jackpot off though, loved throwing in an endless stream of 20p wins lol
  4. Yeah this definitely sounds more like it. I have only seen the one which was at Warrington Quiksilver so interested to know if it was around elsewhere.
  5. I remember that game, the monkey sound always made me laugh
  6. The one I am remembering definitely 100% had a hidden feature where you hold all the reels after the machines flashes and makes a noise. So if the one you played didn't, then it's definitely a different game I am thinking about. I am not 100% over the name of the game but I am fairly, but not absolutely certain it was originally £8 or £10 jackpot and the jungle theme was absolutely a thing
  7. I remember Blue Streak. Pretty fun when it wanted to do something
  8. Yeah I thought it had a £6 version on either 10p or 20p. Glad I wasn't remembering it wrong.
  9. It was a 1 player unit and was definitely during the £8 or £10 era, maybe £15 at a push, but I don't remember it being a £25 machine originally. The sound when you got the feature was a voice singing "Go ba, Go bananas!" Did either of those machines have the hidden feature i was talking about involving holding all 3 reels? Pretty sure the machine I am thinking of was a lot less colourful. It had a strong jungle dark green theme to it and was quite plain.
  10. Another machine I really liked and I don't see get mentioned much. Fun little game, had a £6 jackpot and a board you could move around. One I would love to see emulated at some point for sure. Anyone know of any in the UK currently?
  11. This was a really rare machine I don't see get talked about much because it was low tech. Obviously had a monkey / jungle theme. It had a main roll feature like Red Hot Roll but also had a secret big streak feature where it would growl, the machine would flash and then offer a hold. If you held all 3 reels and pressed start this would trigger the big streak. Never managed to find photos of it online, think the jackpot was either £8 or £10 at the time.
  12. I remember hearing from 1 guy that he got the full 50 from Big 50 and thinking "well that makes sense why it's called Big 50 then!" But yeah, never seen it myself. Impulse was a great machine for people with good reactions lol.
  13. What a machine this was, always gave plenty of game.
  14. For me it was any machine that didn't do an auto spin if you held down the start button. They would only stop if there was a hold or nudge on offer.
  15. However the add again sound on Rollercoaster is the greatest ever sound effect.
  16. The £6 jackpot version of this was a great machine, but oh boy could it take your money when it was cold. I once saw it go all the way to £6 twice and then up to £3 on the third time through for a £48 streak, (albeit pretty much all in tokens lol)
  17. actually dont remember this one, guess none of them showed up around the Manchester/Liverpool area back in teh day!

    Crazy pays dx

Oh boy these things streaked like crazy, I think my record was a jackpot holding 11 times or something similar. I think the £4.80 jackpot version was the best.
  19. I remember this game, always found it hard to get a win out of it lol.
  20. There used to be a dodgy emptier for this one. I remember watching a complete stranger come in to the local arcade. Smart man in a suit, he walked straight up to Ring-A-Bell, got roll up roll up straight away which streaked for the largest amount I have ever seen. He collected the bank and walked out with the game potentially still on the feature, but the next credit put in the machine and of course it wasn't. Something was very dodgy about that, never saw the guy again, and I was in that place every day for 15 years lol.

    Jpm's Big Banker Wdx

The streaks on this machine were crazy when they started. Game itself was tons of fun.
  22. Had some great music this game

    Jpm's Big Bucks Wdx

big bucks was a great machine, even more so if you could hit the skill stop on Stop N Step

    Connect 4

The connect 4 game itself was impossible to win until the computer decided to let you win, since it was a solved game that always ended in a draw with perfect play
