  1. Barcrest - Monty Python's Flying Circus - UHD

Here it is, I'm pretty happy with how it's come out. If anything is obviously wrong, let me know - I will update it if required!
Only doing a £15 version at the moment, I will consider the £5 version later.
NOTE - I designed this on my two gaming PCs, this is a UHD layout and does feature a fair few blended lamps so will potentially not run well on lower specced / older machines. I do apologise if that is the case!
Thanks to @Reg for graphical advice and hints, and @Boulderdash for playtesting - do note that I have done some work on this after testing and may have introduced new errors, so again, if you find issues, let me know

  2. Adders 'N' Ladders by Empire Games - £5 & £35 Classics

Here's a couple of layouts I've put together for Adders 'N' Ladder by Empire Games. It's a pretty simple game and hopefully simple enough to play
Thanks to @infection for the £35 board photo, and user Chris217 on YouTube for his video of the £5 versions being played. Thanks to @andy-1as well who provided me with the ROMs running in a blank MFME layout, and also obvious thanks are obvious when it comes to @Wizard. I know these layouts don't really do justice to your emulator but hopefully they'll put a smile on someone's face, until something better comes along (or I get my arse in gear!).
Beginning to wish I'd done a traditional classic layout as there's so many reflections and issues on the board parts that the £35 for example could pretty much do with being redrawn. That might be a project for another day, but for now please enjoy these cosmetically challenged versions.
Any errors please let me know!
    [quote]Empire Games 'Adders 'N' Ladders' - on Barcrest MPU5.
Set on £5 Jackpot, 20p Play and 86% Payout.
Layout designed by SlotsMagic using MFME v20.1
    ** Keyboard Shortcuts **
    Insert £1 = 0
    Start = Spacebar
    Hold 1 = 1
    Hold 2 = 2
    Hold 3 = 3
    Cancel / Collect = '
    Exchange = E
    Auto Nudge = A
    ** Notes **
This layout was put together to give something hopefully playable, and I'm sure better version(s) will appear in the future
It is based on the more basic of the Adders 'N' Ladders machines, which doesn't have the feature symbols located above the reels. It should play absolutely fine.
    ** Thanks To **
Chris Wren a.k.a. Wizard (1965-2020) for MFME itself!
'Chris217' for the video on YouTube which I screengrabbed the board game from!
andy-1 for the ROMs running and base layout!
Everyone at DesertIslandFruits.com for support and feedback!

  3. Barcrest - Lotta Luck - UHD

Note - this might be a UHD / 4K release (it's 1600px wide by 2160px tall) - but note the source is my scan of the original flyer which is a little grainy, it'll not be as sharp as other 4K releases based on digital flyers, glass scans or high quality photos. I've done what I can with the source.
Also note - this layout was actually a sort of 24 hour challenge for myself. To the best of my knowledge it is complete and working correctly, if there are any issues I will correct them!!
Right, with that out of the way, here's my layout of Lotta Luck. @Chopaholicrequested a fix for an old layout, and I took it upon myself to quickly make a newer, updated layout which works in the latest emulator with hopefully better artwork.
Here's some layout notes taken from the layout - hope you enjoy it! Any issues do let me know

  4. Bell Fruit Games - Hi Roller £500 Classic

Here is a layout I have made for Hi Roller, a £500 jackpot poker style game by Bell Fruit Games.
I used to play this a fair bit, it's rather like Random Spinner and similar Section 16 (then updated to B3) games, in that it's got a 'wheel' feature. Unlike those slot machine games, where the wheel is triggered by 3 symbols on a winline, on this machine it is 'randomly' triggered by any losing hand of poker.
It is multi-stake, from 50p play up to £5 play, and the percentage payout also scales from 90% for the lowest stake, up to 98% for the highest stake.
Now, I did have the layout fully working but have somehow managed to stop the note acceptor from working, I will release an updated layout if I can manage to get it going again. I've tried all the obvious things I can think of but am totally stumped. Credit to anyone who finds out what I've done wrong!
    Layout notes are quoted below.
    Cheers

  5. Wheel Of Wealth - £25 Jackpot, 30p Play @ 78% by SlotsMagic

Well here it is, my first attempt at a DX. Made my own classic to start with. This layout will be far from perfect as this has been as much about me learning the ropes as it has been producing a new layout by finding some ROMs and a flyer for a machine which I don't believe has been done before.
It's pretty much a standard £25 jackpot Bell Fruit machine but with a disc reel rather than a band-reel or superboard which most machines of this era have.
This machine will have flaws - like I said above I've been trying to work out what I'm doing and already know thanks to @vectra666 among others that I've been doing things in a very long winded way when there are tools in the emulator to do things much more quickly!
I've mentioned a few bits issues in the notes section (quoted below), if you find anything that needs fixing feel free to post and I'll do my best to fix the layout.
Apologies to Reg for the chonky filesize!
Enjoy, and if you don't, feedback is welcome!

  6. Bell Fruit Games - Crazy Money AWP UHD DX

Here's my flyer-based DX of Crazy Money, a machine first released as a classic layout by @Reg, and released here :

I hope I've done it justice. The layout was designed at 2160p (4K UHD) and is 2160 pixels tall, so should fit a 4K panel in Full Screen Max mode without any scaling involved. As usual that's pretty much overkill when dealing with a tiny flyer, and does mean the file-size is a bit large (18MB!!), but it's easier to work at larger resolutions, and MFME will scale downwards for those at lower resolutions anyway
I have made two versions of the layout - the one called Crazy Money UHD DX is the standard layout, with the video screen implemented on the top glass of the machine as it should be, albeit resized to take up as much free space as possible to make it as playable as possible within the constraints of the artwork.
The other layout is simply a copy of it, with the video screen, 'shoot' button and 'rotation' lamps moved to the side, to give the video screen greater space.
So - for a more accurate game, use the UHD DX download. If you prefer a much bigger screen plonked to the side, choose the UHD HD SIDESCREEN layout
I'll attach the layout notes below, but firstly thanks to @Reg for the classic layout on which this layout is almost entirely based (just added in a few unused lamp numbers among other things), made it a much easier job having a top-notch classic to work from, with good controls for the crazy golf game built in. Also thanks to @vectra666 for suggestions based on a quick playtest for me, and supplying the original gold cabinet frame I have used here, as well as the correct fruit symbols on the reels for this era of game (should match the winplan graphics correctly).
Finally thanks to @Wizard, without whom we wouldn't be doing this, and the more I design in MFME, the more I realise just what a complete package it is.
I have made minor tweaks to the layout after I sent versions out for testing, so if any new issues have arisen in these new versions, let me know and I'll get them sorted

  7. Bell Fruit Games - Hi Roller AWP

Well, here's something else to keep you entertained for about 15 minutes of Lockdown 2, before you remember that the older machines were better and leave this gathering dust in your download folder. Wouldn't blame you at all for doing that
Anyway it's a modern-ish Bell Fruit Games 'Reel 2 Video' machine. As you'll have seen in the WIP thread I've had to bodge the feature entry trails, I honestly couldn't think of a way of getting them to work otherwise but would be open to revisit this layout if a better, working option is found.
Also, if any issues are found and things need correcting, please let me know and I'll upload a fixed version. Seems fine to me but I'm sure something will have slipped through the net!
Here's the attached notes from the layout :

Here's another layout for anyone who likes poker machines, couldn't see this one released either.
Very simple gameplay, should be pretty simple to work out. Keyboard shortcuts are in the attached notes
NOTE ACCEPTOR NOW WORKING AS OF VERSION 1.1, NOTE BANK 7-SEG DISPLAY ADDED.
    Happy dealing everyone!

  9. Bell Fruit Games - DOND Deal Wheel £70 UHD

NOTE - Turns out I left the Extra Life and No Lose lamps the wrong way around on version 1.0.0
If you are one of the original 42 people who downloaded this layout before 12:00pm on Monday 10th January, you'll want to swap the 'extra life' and 'no-lose' lamp numbers around. If you download layout version 1.0.1 after that time, the fix is already applied. You'll know if you have the later version as the version number will be different in MFME's Config screen (it'll show 1.0.1 as version number).
    Instructions here :

Here's a layout I've put together over the past week. I'll be honest and say it's not a game I particularly enjoy playing, although there were decent photos supplied by @infection and a lovely classic layout by @Reg so it seemed a shame not to do it. Many thanks to Reg for letting me use an unlocked classic layout of his as the basis for this - saved a bit of time working things out from scratch
I've been playing this on my gaming laptop (i7 11800H / GTX3070) @4K 3840x2160 and it's been nice and smooth. On the old Alienware Alpha which is a teeny little PC from about 10 years ago (i5 4570 and GTX860M) it does lag a little bit when the disc reel spins, but is still totally playable. That's at 1080p resolution so 1920x1080.
Hopefully it'll run smoothly for those that want to try it. It's not an amazing game - it's the same as Showtime which I used to own and sold it as it was boring as hell. Then again most DONDs are the same - not much value in the features like there used to be back in the £6>£25 era.
Notes should open when you open the layout for your keyboard shortcuts e.t.c. - if you find any issues let me know. If you find it boring as all hell to play, I would say to let Bell Fruit Games know, but I'm pretty sure they don't exist now

  10. Spiker The Biker - £5, £15 and £25 4K DX

Here's a trio of Spiker The Biker layouts, made using my photos that I took at Skirlington Leisure Park. At least I think that's what it is called. It did have a retro arcade section but based on recent videos it looks like it's no longer running retro machines. Let that serve as a reminder to people - grab resources while you can, you never know if you'll see the machine again
Anyway - back on topic. Layouts are £5/10p (I'd suggest upping to 20p if you want a faster game), £15/30p (you can drop to 25p if you want a slower game) and £25/30p (again - you could run at 25p but I prefer the speed of 30p at the higher jackpot).
It's a brilliant machine in my opinion - I owned one years and years ago and still kick myself for selling it. Must be coming up to 20 years now since I owned it. For some reason it was never cloned. I'm sure others from the same era weren't either, but I don't get why it didn't perform that well. It's got a cracking sound package, decent art, interesting upgrade system, and quite a few 'hidden' things.
Maybe it didn't do very well as it's a bit predictable - but I used to feel very 'safe' playing it?
Hopefully the layouts are fully working with no issues - I've had a few lovely people - @Mort and @Boulderdash - cast their eyes over slightly earlier versions and they both picked a few issues up which I hope I've now corrected. Knowing me however I've probably introduced more issues as I've made those corrections. Fingers crossed I haven't!
Some of the suggestions made I have not implemented but I will definitely consider implementing some of the ideas on future layouts!
Thanks for @logopolis for providing a couple of different ROMsets for me - the £5 and £15 are running early ROMs (named : BIKE) - which is odd as I've only ever seen ROMs named SBTR before? The £25 layout runs the SBTR ROMs as the earlier ROMs aren't switchable for £25.
Thanks to Adam on Facebook - I think he might be a member but he's not made himself known on here. He sent me great photos of his decals, insisted it was no bother and he wanted to help. Got me a bit more motivated to complete this release as without those decals it would have been £5 only and the decals I originally had looked terrible!
Thanks to @Reg for the site. I'll still tag him even though the account is closed. Thanks to @Wizard as always for MFME and the last 20+ years.
Thanks to everyone else who puts up with me and my ridiculously off-tangent WIP threads, waffling posts like this one, and who downloads and plays this release.
Regrets? I built the layout on a tatty old 22" 1920x1080p display and only when I moved it up to my 65K 4K TV last night did I spot even more issues. From now on I will exclusively design on that screen, at 4K, from the off. Way, way easier to spot issues. Probably would have allowed me to get a more even result as well. Working on large art on a small screen at about 1/2 resolution makes no sense. In edit mode you can only see a teeny bit at a time

Enjoy what is left of your bank holiday - and if you find any issues do let me know! I'll swear, punch my monitor, and then fix them (in that order)

*NOTE* - I have unpacked the blended lamps, but this might be a bit hard for older / non-gaming PCs to run, especially during busy lamp cycles (jackpot sequence e.t.c.).
Runs fine on my old and new gaming machines at 1080p and 4K respectively. If needs be I can release a fix with no blended lamps for those who need it. Will see what the feedback is like first.
