  1. Hi all, does anyone know of a DX version of JPM's 7's Up machine from the early 1980's, the only version I can find on the site is a CO1 version with a £1.50 Jackpot without a cabinet, not that I'm ungrateful but I just prefer the cabinet versions as they are more realistic, please can someone bring me some good news, keep safe, JPM555.

Bloody Hell !!!! Good job I never came across this machine in my local pub because it would've ended up face down on the floor, soon as your on the feature and the cash amount is on £3 or £4 all you get is Miscue after Miscue after Miscue and quite a few times after just 2 or 3 spins of the number reel , half an hour on this money grabber was enough for me, If this was as bad as that back when it was released JPM certainly had big fat profits in mind for the leasing or hire company's or if a pub or arcade actually owned one they were laughing all the way to the bank , by the way, despite my rant another great emulation , looks and sounds great, so much so anyone would have thought I really had just lost 40 quid .
Oh yes !!! what memories indeed, other than the old Bell-Fruit electro mechanical machines this one is where my true addiction kicked in, this appeared from nowhere in my local Cafe next to South Wimbledon tube station one lunch time around 1980 and this Cafe is where my additional £1 school lunch money would be spent either at midday or after school, It was a large Cafe so plenty of room for machines and the owners weren't stupid as they cottoned on that with our school close by and the passing trade throughout the day being it was right next to the station where one entrance led you straight out onto the station ticket office they was onto a nice little gold mine, as well as the fruity we had a table top 'Space Invaders' & 4 cabinet video games which were 'Moon Cresta' 'Defender' 'Galaxian' and not for getting the great 'Pacman', all on 10p per play so the £1 lunch money didn't go far and certainly wasn't wasted on food ,all the fruity's and games were changed every 6-8 months but even when I left school in 1981 me and my mates would meet up nearly everyday in there until me step dad made me go and get a full time job just to start paying house keep to me mum but at least now when I did get days off work when I got paid each month I had plenty of me own cash to spend which at the time was great but as we all know looking back now the only real winners here were the owners of all these establishments i.e Chip Shops, cafes', Arcades and so on but at least I have all these great memories of what I think were the best years for fruit machines in the decade that was the 1980's because at the time most of the machines gave you a real chance of winning once you learnt the reels and all the cheats and most importantly had the skill back then you could quite easily win £30-£40 which back then would have cleaned out the 10p tube, Ahhh so much love for the 80's and great job with the emulation .
First time I've come across this machine, loving the tunes , another masterpiece from Vectra666 .
Love It , to knock this up in 10 hrs you're an absolute genius, so glad I joined up with the Island and come January 1st when it's time to subscribe again I'll be sticking in an extra £10.00 on top of what I normally donate and it's worth every penny, big thanks to all you guys that bring me and all the other Islanders such fond memories of years gone by .
  2. Hi all, can anyone remember a Laundrette themed machine from the 1980's possible by Barcrest or BWB, If so is it on this fantastic site for me to download, regards JPM555.

Great gameplay with great sounds, why can't this be real life !! , stuck £40.00 in on £2 per spin and within 10 mins had it up to £112.00 and 5 mins later had all red coffins lit for mega streak, needless to say Crash! Bang! Wallop! £400 JACKPOT so took out £512.00 , If only , Great fun while it lasted. Big thanks to all you guys past and present who have contributed towards this site and who in my mind are nothing short of creative geniuses and even though I made my contribution on 1/1/23 when I first joined, next week I will be adding further funds merely as a big thank you for bringing back so many great memories from the late 1970's, through the whole of the 1980's and the early 1990's (1980's were by far the best ) plus I have been giving the downloads a bit of a hammering since I joined but just can't help it......THANK YOU DESERTISLANDFRUITS .
  3. Hi all, does anyone have any ideas why whenever I download a machine from Betcom the actual machine itself downloads but on every one I get the same issue with the LED displaying 0196 CCT C COMM and before that comes up it says "set up coin mech" !! any ideas on how to deal with this issue will be greatfully received, regards JPM555.
  4. So glad I joined the Island as many hours are spent every evening playing these retro machines sometimes until the early hours in the morning....I'm talking 5am or 6am 🥱, even the wife's happy now as she always use to moan about me taking up most of the bed but when I finally hit the sack she's just getting up at 7am, I think I've got the best deal as not only have I enjoyed 8 solid hours playing these fantastic machines without being disturbed ( well done to all concerned for all your many hours of hard work in sorting these slots for our pleasure  👏👏👏) I get into a lovely warm bed 🛏 and get it all to myself 😴, Happy Days 👍👊.

Just spent several hours playing the Barcrest Rio Grande and boy did it bring back memories from the 1990's when playing this in my local Bingo hall, 100% perfect detail has gone into this machine as it's just like playing the real thing so many thanks to all concerned with bringing this machine to this site, best £20.00 I've ever spent contributing to The Island and defo will be adding the odd payment throughout the year as I'll be downloading and spending many more hours here and if the majority of the machines download as good as this I'll be more than happy .
  5. Thanks for the update guys regarding subscription , I'll wait a week and then pay £20.00 because like you say it'll be well worth it and judging from the quality of workmanship from what I've seen so far I agree, I will take note of also making the odd donation throughout the year as I'm probably gonna be spending a good few hours on the retro JPM & Barcrest machines in the evenings and probably well into the early hours .
  6. Can someone tell me please if I support the site with a £10.00 per month subscription how many downloads does this get me, thanks in advance...JPM555.
  7. Thanks for that info, I don't get much chance at the moment to keep coming on to chat all things electronic etc as I've never been into that side of machines, I just joined to bring back some nostalgia via playing them, guess I'll have to think about funding the bit of fun I'm looking for, thanks again....JPM555 .
  8. I supposedly have enough points now to download some of these great machines but other than playing on one yesterday for about half hour every single one I open up is saying "Sorry, you aren't permitted to download this file", after that short spell on one yesterday I thought I was up and running but clearly not .
