Another great classic by CLO06. Much appreciated.
  3. Awesome! Vivid had some great games, never played this one before so will be firing this up this evening.
  4. It is insane. The terrible video of Butlins I found last week had a few of these. Lowest Jackpot I ever saw on one of these was £20, and that was years ago. I'd bet percentage is really quite low, although I'm sure they advertise more than the percentage actually is, I mean how many arcades went and changed every single payout notice on the glass when cost of living crisis hit...likely not many and its obviuos the only thing to do to try to stay afloat is minimum payout possible. I should add the one machine of this kind I saw years ago was not in over 18's section either and was available to be played by anyone of any age.
  5. I was far from a pro, but Red Gaming were gold mines on busy resorts.
  6. £4.80 - £15 was my favourite time. £5 - £25 era was good for the most part, £35 +, I'd stopped playing. Been playing some older stuff in the emulator and have to say £1.50 - £3 era is pretty awesome, machines I saw on family days by the sea in younger years that never would imagine I'd one day play, but thanks to emulation we have it all.
  7. I've just had a Google. Manafactured by Supernova, pretty confident there isn't a section for that so unlikely to be emulated unless in a different section as there is a section for games etc, Desert Island Retro which I haven't really explored yet, but it's a long shot as it looks quite a modern variant as well.
  8. I doubt that has been emulated, but I could be wrong. Watched a video of Butlins with the arcade about a week ago, lol, now I know what was along one wall...it was these things. If you know the manafacturer, check out the legacy section, I often forget to look there myself.
  9. I guess I got the wrong impression. Just saw the negative comments regarding Fruit-Emu and assumed it was a kind of rivalry or dispute that may be wider. Should have remembered that assume saying of it makes an ass out of you and me. Good to know the community as a whole is actually very cooperative, I did hear it was a bit wild west back in the day. As for members of Fruit-Emu, have many came over to here? I'm amazed there is'nt a far bigger community than there is, deserves a far bigger following, its an interactive museum. I plan to make Youtube videos at some point, not about tricks or methods, Degsy and Cheerful Pessimist are infinitely more knowledgable on that front, watching their videos makes me feel like a complete cluey. I plan on making vdeos kind of reviewing the machines and just playing them while talking in a standard fashion like the majority would play. Idea is to make videos whereby its a look back to the times that were different and also focus on the tourist industry and seaside as well, kind of a trip down British seaside holiday memory lane. I want to try and drum up interest in those that would'nt actively seek out emulation and appeal to those with fond memories of the seaside holiday from their youth etc. Obviously I will check for permission before using any layouts.
  10. What are the odds of the various sites pooling resources and uniting to a degree? I must admit, being new to the scene it's probably a bit out of place for me to comment really, but does seem there is rivalry, competition, distrust and possibly grudges against certain sites. Wouldn't it be possible for the leaders of these sites to kind of maybe form an alliance etc where resources and content can be shared across all, kind of like a round table of emulations leaders and creator's? I do see Fruit Emu get ripped a bit on here for example, and I've no idea why, although I'm certain there are reasons which are valid. Seems like if somehow these sites could reach a common understanding we could likely really benefit as a community no matter which site we belong to. Seems kind of crazy when one site has ROM's and another say artwork or sound ROM's that they are possibly sat idle while awaiting all the ingredients to turn up at specific site. Also emulation really probably hasn't even really begun yet, I didn't even know it existed until 5 minutes before signing up here. I think it's a thing that hasn't reached peak growth yet, bit as the arcade slowly does a complete death, well the fruit machine especially, it's likely to really become far more popular even of from a historical curiosity to some. Like I say, I don't know the reasons, and I hope I haven't spoke out of place. Despite being new to the scene it's really something that I wish I knew about sooner, the fact all this exists is absolutely incredible and is much appreciated. I only speak out of wanting this to continue to thrive and be around for all those others that would so desperately appreciate the hard work and genius of Wizard and the incredible artists who make it so.
  11. Just a random selection I haven't found on here so far, probably for good reasons, bit here they are none the less.
  12. Site donation should be mandatory I think, and possibly MFME player technically a subscription for first 3 year's and then you have licensed copy. I'm only new myself, but I can see how people get pissed off with people coming along, taking and never see any activity again. Maybe a set subscription every 6 months with a discount for those actually contributing to forum activity.
  13. Why spoil a good fruit machine with the hell that is Christmas, abhorrent time of year. lol, you've guessed correctly! Christmas is the Betcom if it was a fruit machine, I loathe it.
  14. Christ on a bike, this is incredible.
  15. Exactly. If anything it's far more at luring kids of an age where they don't have a proper concept of money yet into gambling, not away from it. See kids feverishly shoving money into these things, lured by toys and candy which arguably appeals much more than a £5 jackpot. Nothing about this new approach is gambling prevention, if anything its gearing kids up to be more willing to chase ever more elusive prizes. When you watch kids play these things its not difficult to see which ones are likely going to end up with addiction later in life in the online casino's. And these kids will be used to shoving pound after pound chasing a prize that is worthless or merely unatttainable. Once you factor this conditioning to accept that the stake is irrelevant to the end goal, and that they should persevere no matter the loss as if it isn't even happening then you have a wave of people just perfect for the online gambling industry to sweep up later in life. In my mind, the ticket machines are far worse. The whole industry is twisted, they know exactly what they are doing and so does the government. Would'nt surprise me if what we are seeing is a marker of the future in which online casino's begin to introduce physhical prizes as opposed to cash in a bid to maximize profit and take advantage of the next generations who will be conditioned to play endlessly for whatever the prize may be. It's coming, imagine the money made once percentages can be lowered drastically and people start gambling for a house or car of which the casino will rake in the value tenfold or more.
  16. Kind of agree, except ticket machines are still gambling really, albeit with really low percentages. A £5 jackpot machine at least gives them better odds. Plus with the way online casinos are allowed to bombard people with endless aggressive advertising, anyone who will be susceptible to gambling addiction most certainly will fall a foul wether they have ever played a £5 fruit machine or not. Don't get me wrong, it would make great sense of the rest of the industry was targeted as well, yet it's not. It's not about £5 machines, it's about the big online casinos and bookie's who lobby/bribe members of parliament to remove what competition there could possibly be, it's part of the reason the fruit machine is dead. Also imagine, you have a massive gambling addiction, then the £5 machines disappear leaving only big jackpot machines and online... it's all very calculated and nothing about it is gambling prevention. If anything ticket machines are designed to lure even more so, as it's not money payout it seems harmless, the addiction becomes something nobody ever sees coming.
  17. What about these? Arguably Return of the Dick is just a Spotted Dick, but may play different, never saw it in the wild.
  18. That's a shame, I'd imagine we never will, can't of been many of these about. Never know though, really surprises me how we have so many fruit machines on here that you just wouldn't expect the ROM's to have survived. I'll keep an eye on eBay, see if they ever turn up by chance, then pass on to one of you genius's to work your magic.
  19. Was the feature as dire as it looks? Still a cool machine, just really appreciate the ones that are kind of like little time capsules of things gone by.
  20. Me niether. I'm kind of wondering if this was maybe specific to Billy Smarts Circus, like how fairs usually have an arcade with slots and maybe pushers.
  21. This machine really intrigued me. I am a big fan of the fruit machine for machines like this alone which capture various things popular in culture at the time. I don't collect circus memorabilia, but if I did this would be way up there. Fruit machines like this are now a thing of the past, shame really. There's so many fruit machines I'd love to own for that reason. They could play like crap, didn't really matter, they grabbed people's attention and it was really a smart move to have fully licensed artwork and sound packages.
  22. It was really exciting machine for what it was. The arcade I played It had the sit-down £25 variant, the thing was just so enticing. Could do some decent payouts as well if caught right, was a very pretty machine, I would like one one day for sure.
  23. Thankyou. Never saw this one in the wild.
