  1. Its likely you've hit your download limit. All explained here.....
  2. Yep that's exactly how its done. There might be some minor tweaks needed in configuration to make them compatible. Quite often its Hopper Settings which need adjusting by unchecking the 'hoppers' tick boxes. If you have problems, just stick a post up and we should be able to help.
  3. If you’d like to PM me the layout, I’d be happy to take a look.
  4. Normally it’s check box 11 to override this message on Astra’s.
  5. Party time or any other 3 player machines are particularly CPU hungry as it’s running an instance of MFME for the top box and each slave, so you really need a high end PC to run them properly. it probably best to use less slaves to ease the load on your computer.
  6. I got rid of my ZX128+2 years ago but still got my old ZX81 somweher kicking around. Not fired it up in a long time so it probably doesn't work anymore. Instead I play my old favorites on an emulator Claim to fame - programming an infinate lives 'poke' for Dizzy 7 I think I sent that to Crash Magazine back in the day.
  7. Mouth watering for sure, an arcade full of lo-techs - Chopley's worst nightmare lol It's pretty good on a VR headset but this is next level stuff.
  8. Been following this thread with interest and I've got to say you've done amazing work there JP. Simply BRILLIANT!!
  9. Yes! Nothing new for quite a long time.
  10. Yeah I’m sure the one I did was the Empire version.
  11. Raising a glass to wizard who presented me with a hobby lasting almost 20 years. No other person has changed my life in the way he did and I will be forever grateful. I was at work today and TBH not noticing the time at all, but for some reason I stopped what I was doing and checked my phone - bang on 3pm so I stood still and had my own private two minutes in absolute silence. During that period it dawned on me what massive effect he actually had on my life with his creation of MFME. I brought me to a communiity which I'm proud to have been a part of and in which I have made lifelong friends. Thank you Chris - for everything!!

    The Saddest Day

I’m stunned!! RIP Chris, I’m pleased we made it up after many years of conflict and became good friends.

    Volume

If you tell us which machine it is then we should be able to help.
  14. I think a link to your tutorial should be added to maybe entice people into having a go at layout design. The advert is aimed at people who’ve actually accomplished this so possibly something like - these people did it, can you??

    Wine for Wizard

Well deserved! Can the next one be 'Whiskey for old, knackered, eyesight fucked, R.S.I. sufferer, 'brain shredded with seeing too many little yellow squares' layout designers please??
  16. Replied at DADsFME https://dadsfme.com/index.php?topic=498.msg16941#msg16941
  17. Think that should be Daysleeper not Daydreamer
  18. Looks great @Reg, but I also think your name should be on there too. There are a few more names I can think of from years gone by but I suppose its where you draw the line, I mean you could fill an entire page with just a few of Pandys aliases alone lol Its a difficult balancing act adding names both past & present and you can't put everyone on there so I think the list you've done is fine. Oh! and thanks for adding me too, at least my 'nick' doesn't take up much space Also 'Slot Action' makes me think of something entirely different
  19. My site logo is fine to use. Cheers @Reg and thanks once again for the plug :)
  20. That's another thing. Best to check the forum WIP threads to see if someone else is making the same layout. Obviously this doesn't stop you attempting your own version at all but if its 'being done' you may want to consider something else.
  21. Fisrtly, its very good of you to ask about rules etc, and yes there are a few niceties to consider. If you intend to use 'bits' from other layouts its polite to get permission from the original designer (whenever possible), then make a 'thank you' reference to them when it comes to making a release post. If you use someone's classic as a starting point then you should definately thank them in your release and possibly even put their name in 'Caption' in the configuration section so it shows on the status bar. What you should never do, and many newbies have fallen foul of this is to change other designers layouts and claim them as your own. That is a definate NoNo!! Lastly, at DIF you'll find that this is the place where the current DX'ers hang out and most certainly the pace to come to if you need help and assistance. It always good to see someone wanting to try their hands at DX'ing and at first you're probably going to have some questions. If you do, don't be afraid to ask as we're always happy to help
  22. Fuck that! If it's whiskey I'll chuck it down my neck whether its single malt or not Last time I was in Glasgow they had a bottle there for about £800 and I couldn't help thinking how many bottles of Aldi whiskey could I buy with that hahah! I'm partial to St Andrew's though very nice that, even though its a blended whiskey.
  23. Thanks for the mention @Chopaholic you may actually want to join DADsFME again at some point, but if you choose to do so please make a post next time . That way your account won't be deleted.
  24. Yep we're not getting any younger. I fondly remember the old days when F5 came in very handy and IRC was mental
