  1. It's 2022 and I found a new Frontend section so I better start a new thread. FruitBar is a frontend for mfme, mame, vpinball its basically a system where you drop supporting files into folders to create your own arcade it is basically that simple, there are not a thousand menus to tweak its basically a drag and drop exercise. If you did not know FruitBar does have its own online theme store which contains more than a thousand images of all different machines so you can get your system up and running quite quickly, many thanks to everyone involved for your support on this. The development of FruitBar continues to evolve in different directions and today I have decided I will see if i can get quiz machines integrated into FruitBar so you might see a new section in the theme store that will have the images that can be used within in FruitBar for quiz games. In a quiz game section you will be able to add the side panel and put anything you wish in there as shown below, it could be video, animation, text you name it its your panel you can put anything you wish in there, you can even have any effects you wish in there too. The images below show the current view of FruitBar in 2022... If you would like to suggest a feature or add any input please post below, generally a new feature takes a couple of days to add. Its always nice to see peoples ideals as that's how the development grows. Many thanks for reading, Andrew.

  2. Many thanks for your comment, By the looks of your comments its moved way past when you last used it, although the latest release is not online currently so there are lots of features that no one is using just yet with the left side panel where you can add videos, animations, images, text, basically you can add anything you want to add. There are full touch screen buttons and you can scale the screen and cabinets to your own view, etc basically you set the view how ever you want it, you can move everything on the screen to where you want it and it has had its own theme store for quite a few months now, so images are already created for this program. You can also add marquee videos, still images, sounds on roms, mame support, mfme, etc Generic exe support I presume you mean add any exe file, just sorting that now as I would like to add some puzzle arcade games. The intro will change in time and anyone is welcome to submit there intro for review by a few members I maybe even add the option to use your own intro but not many people create full intro videos. The intro video on there currently was a quick get an intro running type of intro nothing special but its was something to get things in place. It's away's interesting to see other peoples work so where can your collection be found ?

  4. Basically at NO POINT does the lamp table in MFME match ANY of the 3 tables in the real CHR chip, the software code somehow comes up with the right lamp table from the 3 tables in the CHR chip!! If the software can do that it is very likely so mother manipulation is taken place for percentages too. I guess its fine for MFME where your not playing with actual cash! but not good for real machines!

  8. To do this your need a real chip first on a program card, then something like I have (and shown in the earlier pages) a fluke 9010 and a 6809 pod, and a working mpu4, then use the fluke to interrogate the 3 different tables it contains for the lamps (as I have said before none of these match the MFME table and I could find no connection between the 3 inside the chip and the one on MFME), then use the tables to create a PIC chip which gives out the right data in the sequence when needed, and design a plug in pcb which plugs in place of the CHR chip which will contain the PIC chip on, then all will be good!! That's one way round it!! the other way is to patch the rom and put up with the poor play the machine gives... which I think will be the current option people will do!

  9. oh MPU3, I was going to look into the CHR on those but was told no point as they are easy to patch out and are easily done! threads are about showing how easy it is! As for MPU4....... I am not planning to do any more on this front, My aim was to work out how its done, which I found and even a simple Microchip PIC chip could easily emulate a real CHR. Rather like Barcrest moved to PIC chips on MPU5! I doubt anyone would want to take up the challenge as its always 'end user cost' that's the big problem, things manufactured are always to expensive for fruit machine collectors it seems! but no such constraints when it comes to pinball, people will shell out several hundred for a new remanufactured pinball MPU! seems so different!! So if anyone fancies the challenge it is up for grabs!! I won't be going any further now, in fact in the past year I have very much moved away from fruit machine related electronics. I lost a lot of interest over the time and am at the end now of doing anything more really

  10. I agree. It works well for me, looks good and once you get the hang of it, only takes a minute or two add a new machine. Andrew has been massively helpful and is willing to add new features if they are feasible, making it a flexible front end too.

  11. I did have one thought, I believe i'm right in thinking most quiz machines wont run in windows 10, so I will add the option to run PC applications that way you can add basically any program you wish to add along with all the graphics as normal. Lets call it a windows section....

  12. Well after extensive testing, here is what I have found since last year........ the patching of the rom to exclude the CHR check is fine...... it is the lamp table that is causing problems with machines! the lamps may well be correct, but it seriously messes with the percentage making some real machines really really bad!! MFME uses one set of lamp figures where in a real chip it uses 3 DIFFERENT tables to get the lamp table, therefore MFME sorta 'fudges' the figures to work! but I believe the real CHR chip with its different tables may be also seeding some percentage calculation too. Barcrest do seem to have MPU4 buttoned up really well when they did the CHR chips! So patching roms may or may not work for you....

  13. Awesome as always @Spidy21982! Looks brilliant I am still working on the video games at present, they will be in your Goliath at some point soon... Once video games are actually working (you can't play them yet) and bugfixed... I think I'll be back on building fruit machine models from your c4d models... but the video games are taking longer than anticipated, as is often the case with everything!

  14. Thanks @Danik2343 - I've added localisation to the backlog, and made a note to check in with you - there'll be a public google doc with the strings, so translations can be entered, I guess I'll initially do EFIGS/NL/Ru... it's low priority for now though, especially as there's so much of the text interface that is not yet designed/built

Another machine that I played a lot as a teenager and it plays a decent and fair game. Can streak too. I hope you enjoy playing this machine. As usual, any problems let me know. Thanks for looking
