Fruity Nut
Hi Guys I've noticed that in quite a few layouts the sounds are only coming out of one speaker (usually the right). Surely even if a machine is mono and not stereo it should come out of both speakers not just the left or right? Saturday Night Takeaway is one of the games with right channel only. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Thanks
Ginge
I think you need to change setting from stereo to mono \right in the configuration settings. CTRL + E to go edit mode then click on configuration and then change from stereo to mono/right.
wearecity
Just to be aware, even if setting to stereo, that sound on Scorpion layouts, can come out reversed I.E. Left, comes out of right and V.V. It's an emulator bug, that of course sadly won't be fixed now.

johnparker007
Just to defend Chris's coding honour here It's not an overall a bug in his emulator, it's just a little counter-intuitive to understand the meaning of the setting! From my earlier comment regarding this here: So if you followed that explanation, which probably could be written more clearly haha You see that his work is correct, it's just that you are trying to tell MFME how the machine audio was originally coded and subsequently wired, not how you expect to hear it. Regarding this are you saying there is a machine where it does output in stereo, but the L/R channels are flipped? And so you can tell in a sound test mode, if it says "Left" out of right speaker, then says "Right" out of left speaker? In that case, that sadly would be a bug, as he would have needed a fourth setting: Stereo (Swap). It was a bug that I believe occurred in v20, as it wasn't present in v19.8 IIRC. Chopaholic
I covered this in a video, direct timestamped link. 2 Fruit machine emulation content from the artist previously known as Degsy Degworth and the odd new thing here and there too - https://www.youtube.com/c/DegsyDegworth
johnparker007
Ah yes, seems like the only workaround fix for MFME might be if your 3rd party audio drive software allows you to swap the L/R channels. Apparently that was more a thing in the past, not so much since Win 10 level drivers. Then you could temporarily swap the channels while playing an affected machine (but you'd need to remember to swap them back afterwards!). Just an unfortunate oversight I suspect, when Chris was unifying the 'Sound' and 'Speakers' settings into a single overall setting (missing an additional new 'Stereo (Swap)' option in the dropdown). 2 [ Arcade Simulator ] Pre-alpha installer: https://tinyurl.com/2kcrkprh | Donation info: https://tinyurl.com/yzvgl4xo [ Community Drive ] The drive: http://tinyurl.com/yckze665 [ Fruit Machine Database ] Initial google sheets (WIP): https://tinyurl.com/2c5znxzz [ Fruit Machine ROM Archive ] The archive: https://tinyurl.com/3jhzbueb [ Fruit Machine Settings/Tests Guide ] https://tinyurl.com/yuebw8b5 [ MAME (fixes/improvements) ] Commits: https://github.com/johnparker007/mame/commits/master/?author=johnparker007 [ MFME Launch ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/MFMELaunch [ Oasis ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/Oasis [ Sound ROM Editor ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/SoundRomEditor
