  1. Another tech update We now have a custom dll working, this is so that the MFME Tools copy of MFME.exe will not interact with the actual MFME registry (it doesn't do the 'turbo startup' stuff as we aren't using MFME for any actual emulation, just for the layouts). Also the early stage of the extraction process now working, to launch MFME using the custom Oasis Windows registry: Here you can see various stages logging out their info to the Windows GUI version of MFME Tools (this window will be hidden when extracting layouts via Oasis Layout Editor): Quick vid of the above: I also have pulled over the system for sending 'fake' mouse/keyboard input (used to control MFME for extracting/injecting layouts). The next big task now is to tackle rewriting a new improve system for capturing the content of the MFME main and child windows - the previous system was very Unity-specific, and this MFME Tools module is non-Unity by design... so that will probably take quite a while to develop, though we'll see... maybe it won't be too bad

Hi Everyone I am delighted to release, Teddy's Amusements Bullion Bars Rebuild 3 player - dedicated £5 Jackpot 10p play. With Dan's aka BullionBars2011 help for taking the high res photos of this, MASSIVE THANKS! Without his help this would not have been possible to make These are old Astra cabs with the blue front, Astra Roms and tech, that Teddy used to rebuild a rather crude looking take on Astra's own Bullion Bars Classic, I added the blue lamps in the armrests as per Astra, to make it look a little more original - as these looms was removed by Teddy! Usual shortcuts apply see notes within layout. Hope you all enjoy this release - 4 player version released in next post. ASTRALUKE x

  4. Add handy console to the standalone GUI for MFME Tools. This log is also available to Layout Editor (when MFME Tools is invoked from there for layout extraction) which will also have its own output console as a dockable tab.

This was something I was starting on way back at my first foray into layout creation. Never played the machine but remembered the artwork from being a kid back in the day. Needless to say, my attempt back then before people here spent the time to help me improve was pretty funny. @Tibbo decided to redo the artwork and assist, was originally going to be his first release as we were going to work together on it. Sadly he has not been active for over a year now and I know he really was looking forward to this as he wanted to get his .fml badge and give back to the community also. I'm hoping @pete_w can put the .fml badge to his profile so hopefully when he comes back it's a nice surprise or if not at least his goal has been realised. Massive thanks to; @Tibbo for his artwork and calloboration. @Clo06 for the classic. @johnparker007 and @spa for the images which lead to the far clearer image we have now. @Ginge for play testing and spotting and fixing various issues, this guy has a far greater eye than me. Also a big thankyou to whoever provided the ROM's for this, maybe @Mavroz? There is a slight issue with cancel collect, mainly its one lamp for both but images have separate buttons. Originally I Had same lamp in both, but have removed lamp from cancel to see if that looks better.

  10. Minor tech update for those interested Have ported over the system from Arcade Sim alpha, that hunts out the MFME.exe from the user's machine, for those users wishing to extract layouts (this will be done via a 'native' dialog within the Layout Editor itself, the standard Windows UI is provided for future use/testing): You will see the MFME.exe appear in the folder local to the MFME Tools module on launch, also the text box populates. Next steps are: - porting a paired down project to encapsulate the necessary .dll 'detouring' to control a custom copy of the Windows Registry (as used for Arcade Sim alpha) - copying the .gm to the MFME Tools copy and cleaning out the ROM refs etc, we don't want the layout trying to boot/doing popups related to missing ROMs - launching MFME with the detour hacks in place with a controlled 2x popup max After this there is much more, to build the robust version of how I was extracting layouts, to be covered in future tech updates

Hello All, Wow, into the end of February 2024, sorry for delay have had five weeks of bad health on the mend now! SO.. here is my third layout of the year I have been asked by many players of MFME for a DX £25 Party Time - so here it is in my own updated cabinets Top Box downsized and enhanced lamping, and included the 'rough' Confetti lamping which Astra missed out when released in 1998 post production, so included it for a unique effect. Slaves resized to match my other upright Astra Multiplayers in sizing, all have new clearer buttons for MFME members, better quality belly glass artwork which is more vivid. Reels used Diamond Jackpots symbols as have the glasses, as kept it clearer and simple for high Jackpot releases to come* Set to 20p £8 JP - 86%. To load select master top box file, if any green borders on show use Function and F1 to clear. Hope you all enjoy the refreshed layout! There is some brand new ASTRA layouts in the making so stay tuned.. and more revised ones as have better photos and resources to refresh some layouts back from MFME 5/6!! With thanks to bullionbars2011 for beta testing for me too! *HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL THE KIND COMMENTS AND PRAISE for the previous releases of PT on £8 £15 and £25, I may redo the £5, £10 ones at a later date.. Peace - AstraLuke (YT AstraFruitMachineCollector)

Here's a trio layouts for Super MultiNudge by Concept, which oddly runs on Scorpion 2 hardware (as does the later dome-top Casino with the cream artwork!) I've classed it as a Hybrid DX, due to it not being original artwork - it is using a mix of modified Big 7 (online) artwork, and some bits I've made myself. There's layouts for : £5 jackpot at 20p play. £8 jackpot at 25p play. £10 jackpot at 30p play, and all the above are set at 90% which is a decent, but not overly nice percentage. I have however included a text file (switches.txt) showing the DIP switch settings to change stake and percentage - the only issue being that these layouts only support 20p, 25p or 30p. If you change them down to 2p, 5p or 10p play the machine will lock up when you collect the bank due to the second tube / hopper not being supported. I have not implemented it for a couple of reasons - lack of skill, but also my emulation cabinets currently only have £1 payout so not having 10p / 20p payout is fine for me. These layouts all use the same single ROM file. I've loads of other Super MultiNudge ROMs which look like they should work, but none of them do, so I'm using the original version supplied with @Ploggy's original 2009 DX release. I'll also thank Ploggy here for kindly allowing me to use the technical information from his layout - so all the reel positions, lamp numbers, checkboxes and other bits have come straight from his layout. Which is a lovely little layout and shows off the original artwork. I just fancied making something snazzy for my home cabinets using the artwork I had here! I've also included the more yellowed, top lit gradient from @Ginge that was provided with my original Big 7 layouts, in case people prefer the look of a fluorescent lit reel gradient, which is more accurate than my standard sunken reel gradient (which I personally like as it hides the jagged edges of reel windows!). The choice is yours Thanks to @Wizard for the emulator, thanks to everyone who plays and enjoys my layouts, and thanks to those who don't play and can't stand them

Here's a few layouts for Bullion Run by Concept, and way too many ROM variants as usual. I feel like it might be Random Gold without the 'Random'? I received some artwork from an anonymous member on here (you know who you are, cheers!) and since I quite like this one in real life, it would be a shame not to do a few layouts. There's quite a few ROMs and GAM files included, and the layouts will give ERROR 1 on first opening - to clear that, either use Ctrl+R on your keyboard, or just open and close the layout. There's layouts for : £5 jackpot (£1/£2/£4/£5 paytable) at 20p play. £50 jackpot (£5/£10/£20/£50 paytable) at 30p or 50p play. £70 jackpot (£5/£10/£20/£70 paytable) at 30p or 50p play. £70 jackpot (£10/£20/£40/£70 paytable) at 50p or £1 play. and finally £100 jackpot (£10/£20/£40/£100 paytable) at 30p or 50p play. Bit of a weird mix, but those are the ROMs I have. Hopefully something suitable for most people! To pick the price of play, and game type you want, load the relevant GAM file. The GAM files are labelled as the following example : BR_30P_5_10_20_70_SS (where 30P is the stake, 5_10_20_70 is the paytable, and SS is the game type, where FS = FLAT SESSION, SS = SOFT SESSION, FNS = FLAT NON SESSION and SNS = SOFT NON SESSION). From memory my preferred game type is normally SOFT SESSION, giving a mix of wins and mini-runs in the base, and normally being bang-on target percentage by the end of the run. In theory, SESSION based ROMs will give a run after a fixed amount of credits. To give you an idea, on a SESSION ROM, a 50p £100 jackpot game will go on a run after 3600 credits (£1800 of credits) - this is where the main streak is paid. I honestly don't even know if the SESSION ROMs qualify as 'random'. Perhaps they do randomly allocated wins or mini-runs between the proper runs? The NON SESSION ROMs do not have a streak that comes around after a fixed amount of credits. This means that - while they should still pay out the same over the long term - they may do periods with huge gaps between runs, and can in theory do back to back runs for some huge streaks. They often seem to play too well from a reset, so be prepared for that! As always many thanks to the ROM provider(s), the artwork provider, and all the members here at DIF. Thanks to @Wizard for the incredible emulator, and thanks to anyone who plays and enjoys the stuff I release. Any issues don't hesitate to chuck me a PM, or reply to the release thread

Allowed me to reuse cabinet I spent ages chopping together for Special Reserve, so seemed a logical next project. Reels being lit by a neon tube were a bit tricky to get to work in conjunction with the Reel Roulette feature, but think it's passable. Massive thanks to; @pete_w for the classic. @steves fruitys for video reference. @Ginge for playtesting and spotting things that needed fixing in regards to lamps, effects and checkboxes. Controls in the notes.
