The quest for the holy DOND , and a dumb question :)

Hi Hi , Been searching months now for a missing Dond , Im not starting this to ask for it , I enjoy the search , love the banter , ( scampers crucifixion priceless ) . I have a stupid question , real dumb , here goes . Is there a finite ammout of machines ? , e.g are all the donds actual machines ? , can these be made from scratch ? . I ask because Beardy Knob is the dond Im looking for , I cant imagine noel agreeing , sorry to sound dumb , but some machines are awesomely nuts , and I cant imagine them out and about , thanks

I did read the guide on making the games ( Reg , kudos on your time and effort ) , and I would love to try a dx , because there awesome . Stupid question 2 , where do I find a rom set ? I don't want to tread on anyones toes . Live next to south end so I could go on the machine hunt ( paparazzi the arcade ) , and then search for the machine roms ?

Hiya - just a quick reply as I am at work.

What romset do you want - there are duplicates of many layouts and I am sure anyone can help - hell - you can even download a DOND layout, take the roms from that and make your own.

I think pretty much all of them are out there.

hi hi , tried to find a rom set that looked similar to the guide , a bin , a hi and a lo , Downloaded Roms 26112017 , was a rar from dads , that's dad , but I cant find hi's or lo's , will look a bit more ,tend to be a spaz at times . I was set on making a dx , but looked at some classics , and that clearly is the way forward , cat and mouse looked great dude . Funny thing , when I was working last night , her indoors found the rom folder from dads and spent hours trying to run them , and deleted them in frustration ,

hi andy , something simple to start , I don't know much about the actual machines , or parts , just enjoy cool pc things:) , playing a spectrum +3 emu last night , army moves is well hard . Im really enjoying learning something new . lol , drifted a bit there . The guide shows a , bin , a hi and a lo , I want that , but not dond or some crazy arsed one . Just thinking about reels worrys me , simple is the key , thanks

The hi lo files are the game ROMs and the bin file is the sound ROMs you'll need all of these in order to run the machine normally

Since the Nintendo law suit a few rom sites are shut down or downsized but I use this french site to get ROMs etc. As you can see the link shows one page "P" but it give you an idea of the ROMs used and the machine the us they're made on.

For scorpion 4 & 5 machines try finding a rom file in the region of 1MB plus this usually indicates it has all the files you need.

Try a lo tech to get you started even if it's a machine that's already been released i.e casino crazy fruits for instance

Great to see you going to have a go.

The easiest thing to do is create the layout in the guide, that's what it's there for.

When you work through it, you'll see how it's coming together.

Then I suggest you look for a machine released from 1998 - 2005 to do. It's likely to have a similar way of setting up and creating as the guide one does.

I did lol , no wonder I had no luck , I remembered a bloke in devon who had a few machines 10 years ago, he seemed odd but I took the invite to drink voddy and smoke .Having eaten a dubious tasting cheese toastie and half a bottle of vod , I went to his kitchen to make coffee , two steps in his kitchen my sock came off having stuck to floor ! I drunkenly tried to make coffee anyway , when I got the milk (opened the fridge with my foot), I saw  the cheese , I could see three green sides and one grated off , it was all that was in the fridge , that bloke  . so I located his sister , tracked him down and asked him , im not surprised now he didn't have it , hes my friend again now , lmao , good gag dude , good gag . you make awesome machines too pook , tip of the hat to you sir
