niallquinn
When you say nudges, do you mean a nudges "feature", or the type of old Bellfruits, when it made the noise, you nudged like mad? NQ.

wearecity
I would imagine it would be an electromechanical machine, probably from the mid to late 70's My earliest memories of actually playing a machine, was around 1975, when I would have been around 5. I remember playing at least one Brenco machine around a friend of my mums, who had it loaned for a charity event. But those machines I'm pretty sure had holds only, not nudges. http://www.fruitmachinemuseum.co.uk/gallery-1/4541345310 Edited December 26, 2018 by wearecity

That's just what I would call a nudge now type. Nice site though, never saw it before. LineUp is probably an early one. In that you're climbing a trail, with feature holds etc, but you don't get it at the end. So, something like Big Shot maybe? Who knows, these days I can't remember sod all. These days I can't even remember me feet....and I've just come home, so I can draw the curtains, as I've transformed, overnight, into either of my Grandmothers...said he typing, with a smashing cardie on. cliffc
Hi I believe the first machines to have a nudge feature were made by Carfield Engeneers in Leeds (still going but now known as Dransfield) however I cannot remember the names of any of these machines now, I remember playing one on 2p play in the local arcades in the late 70s, essentially all the other manufactures had to pay Carfield a licence fee to use there Nudge feature, if you look on the reel glasses of nudge gambler and also on Nudges unlimited you will see Licenced under Carfield nudge patent no (the patent no), If you want to read more scroll down this page on Dransfields current web site for the section the history of the nudge https://www.dransfields.com/about/the-dransfields-story/ Edited December 28, 2018 by cliffc

Gary
The patent expired about 20 years ago. I think it was only valid for 15 years. Nobody I know of has paid a royalty for years and there has been no text saying about the nudge patent for years either
