Selling my MFME Cab

Hi everyone,

I've come to the decision to put one of my home made MFME cabs up for sale. Sadly, I don't have the time to play on it like I used to as fruit machines are not really a big hobby of mine these days and need to make room for other projects.

It is the same size as a standard fruit machine and was made from a donor Barcrest Genesis cab. It is on castors but will requires 2 people to move.

The machine takes all coins, and pays out from a £1 hopper. All other coins go into the original coin tray at the bottom of the machine. Easily accessed from the front.

It runs on a slim PC inside the cab, and has 2 Pacdrives, 1 iPac and 1 keyboard encoder to control the lamps and buttons. There are 3 screens.

It currently has well over 150 games installed but if there's any issues surrounding me including MFME and ROMs pre-installed then I will remove these before selling, and let he buyer know how to put their own games on.

It's pretty maintenance free. Press the button on the PC inside the main door and windows loads up, and my custom front-end loads automatically. Then the machine can be completely controlled using the buttons on the machine. Select a machine using the buttons, and then click the play button. MFME loads up, wait for the machine to boot, and you are ready to play with coins. Click Exit when finished and you are ready to choose another game. I will include a wireless mouse and keyboard with the machine. To play a game without coins, you can use the keyboard to insert coins instead. When you have finished playing, press the PC power button again and windows will shut down on its own.

Each machine displays a running total of your IN and OUT amounts when playing so you can keep track, and shows you much more information on the bottom screen such as the button mapping for the machine you are playing. It also shows a running total of your IN/OUT amounts for your entire session across multiple machines.

I have put a lot of work into this machine and getting it working mostly fault free. It's been sprayed black inside and out and has a caron fibre style wrap around the button panel. I am looking for £350 for this, which I think is a very fair price as all the parts & materials alone cost me more than this. This will be collection ONLY from LN4 area.

Here is a video I made showing how it all works:

If anyone is interested, either reply here or PM me. At this moment, the price is firm as I am in no particular rush, and would like it to go to a good home.

The price is fair. Cost me about £400 to build mine. As a pioneer of these machines, you should get what you want for it. Thanks too, for all your input in cabinet building. Without you, I wouldn’t have mine.

Thankyou mate. I still have another to hang on to for now but I just have no room for this one now.

Surprised I hasn't seen this post before. Very fair price for a fully working MFME cabinet. I'm tempted myself as I'm too lazy to finish building my Interplay.

Hopefully someone beats me to it!

(edit) Where you have put it requires two people - is that due to it needing to be moved downstairs for example? If not I'm sure I could move it by myself with a sack truck :)

Thanks everyone. I am very proud of it i must say.

I only said it needs 2 people as its the size of a normal fruity (perhaps a tiny bit heavier?) But yes a sack barrow would be fine to move it. Also I'll be here this end to help. So no need for 2 people to turn up

You'll regret selling it, you'll end up building another, if you're short of money try to stick it out (or bet it all on black on 888.com lol). Short of space, build a wall mounted one like mine.

I have 2, this is the larger (albeit more functional and more like a real fruity) and im keeping the other for now.

Sold to me, currently keeping my half-converted Interplay happy ;)

Amazing how much of an extra dimension having coins in/out makes, and the front-end that's on it is bonkers. It's quite scary seeing your profit/loss on a decent large display at the bottom 😮

As an example of what can be done it's brilliant. Top man too, very helpful.

Back to losing my shirt in Monopoly Wheel of Wealth now :D

Hmm.  This is sad to see.

I know I spend my spare time working on the YT channel, but I was always in awe at what you had built here.

As @Road Hog Mad has said, you may regret this.

I'd pause for a couple of months and if you still feel the same way then obviously go for it.

Your cab ( like everyone else's ) is one of a kind and yours is pretty damn unique in a very good way.

It's a great cabinet, and he's only up the road (25 miles or so). If he changed his mind down the road I'd be absolutely willing to let him have it back.

For all I know he could already be planning a more extreme build with what he learned on this one?

It's gone to a good home (mine, obviously. Can't be that bad as Slotscat quite enjoys it here!).

Thanks @Reg You're probably right, I will probably regret it. But I have kept another of my cabs with the same functionality which is far more portable and takes up a lot less space. As for giving it plenty of thought, I have, for a good few months. Even though I've not gambled in many years, it destroyed my life when I was in my teens/20s and I find myself wondering why I still surround myself in the things that did that to me and have for the past year, sold off all of my fruit machines and related bits and pieces. Also a couple of years ago I found a new hobby (in retro video game collecting) which I now invest a lot of my time in.

I'm also really happy where it has gone to and know it will be looked after and enjoyed.

Totally ingenious, I agree you should of hung fire.  £350 for a whole arcade in one cabinet is way too cheap, perhaps, maybe you are sad now when you got rid, as am I right? you sold it to Slotsmagic?.  Clever stuff, guess this kept your mind occupied and stimulated for some time :)  What would be cool, would be to see a 30" screen in a cabinet that just runs multiplayer games like party time, The streak, golden game etc... that would be well impressive with the same coins in and out mechanics. Just shows by what you have achieved by doing this, actually what is possible and can be done.  Pat on the back mate, fair play to you :)

Yeah, it's currently at my house, it's in the dining room (I've been allowed a total of 2 machines in there), so have gone with my Interplay MFME cab which is still nowhere near complete, and obviously the one I bought from No1Stoney. Doesn't seem fair to keep them in the machine graveyard. Sorry I mean mancave :)

I'm debating a couple of tiny technical tweaks to it, but only things that I feel might enhance it. One is that the top of the hopper is totally obscured. I think it would be nice if you could access the hopper from the top, even if it's just a holesaw job. A tidy holesaw job mind. I like to be able to see how full a hopper is :)
