andrew96
Hi everyone Is there a way of REALLY slowing the cpu down on a mpu5 game? I want to slow it down to see the lamp sequences in attract mode very slowly!! I have tried in debug mode stop then step or fast step but it seems to step through the program but doesn't update the main layout which stays frozen as it was when stop was pressed Any help would be good! Many thanks Andrew Edited April 26, 2023 by andrew96

Many thanks Andrew It's one feature that while I can see why Chris removed it, I used quite a lot in the old days. You could try a much older version of MFME but that wouldn't be much help if you needed to run more recent ROMs. I can't remember when variable speed was removed, it was probably around the days of the old 'hacked' / leaked versions of the emulator (v9.4?). I've used Cheat Engine as shown above but it does something odd sometimes, I've had games freeze, lock up, had garbled sound, e.t.c. Tommy c
If it's for a red gaming just press cancel once the lamp sequence starts then hold down hold 1 and it should stop on that lamp position. 1

Matty.n
Question has been answered but worth adding that pressing CTRL & P will also pause/un-pause emulation which has been handy when making classics.

andrew96
Another question...... the switch boxes at the top...... can you rename them at all? I would like to change the 'Test 2' in mpu5 to 'dump' for the hopper dump switch label Many thanks
Tommy c
My guess to that would be no, that is probably something that is in the main source code.
