slotsmagic
I'm sure I used to know it, but can't remember it now - which is annoying as hell!! I know it's not the 'roll top' (that's the one with the coin mech on top), maybe it's just the Barcrest rear-opening flat top?! I'll have to do some research as I'm convinced it does have a proper name but my memory is completely knackered these days [edit] I'm wondering if a machine manual might be the right way to go? I don't think I have any here but an MPU4 manual might have the cab name on [another edit] Also, resources from rebuild companies (BWB, MDM e.t.c.) might state which cabinets their kits work in? Possibly on flyers, failing that it might be another thing that would appear in manuals Edited April 24, 2022 by slotsmagic 1 Currently owned digitals : T7 Encore, T7 Original, Astra iPub and Storm Street Casino. MFME cabinets : Genesis cab DIY by No1Stoney, Interplay conversion and Vegas Strip conversion (both are works in progress!)
johnparker007
Usually less talk in the manuals about the cabinet, compared to the flyers, from what I've seen so far (perhaps because the games are somewhat cabinet agnostic?). I've been going Spa's findings from going through his flyers, and then regoing over more myself, trying to make a more organised version of the Cabinets sheet in the database, making some progress (though they slightly changed dimensions, even in the same lines of cabs) I think it's the Trad' / Trad Cab? There is one that is also a 'flat top' in this style and era, that has a slightly taller coinmech, still embedded in the glass - still meeting the top and right corner of glass edge, I think that is the 'Slimline'. And then there is the other very similar flattop cabinet of Club Tropicana, and that is the Highline. (Taller, and Coin mesh doesn't meet top side of glass, only right side). Short for traditional cabinet as in their standard one they used, what about the ones before that that house the £4ers in?

We're just trying to get to some sane cabinet categorisation, to put machines into, as the AS project grows Building cabs is on hold, as Spa has found more new official names in his flyers collection - so getting it organised. 1 hour ago, woodsy said: could you not just call it the classic, or iconic for our reference? it's gotta be up there in the naming department with "trad" When we don't have an 'official' (ie. printed on flyers by the manufacturers) name, internal logical names are still good... but if there is the actual name available for a cabinet type that is nicer Edited April 25, 2022 by johnparker007 2 [ Arcade Simulator ] Pre-alpha installer: http://arcadesimulator.net | Known Issues: https://tinyurl.com/yz4uom2e | Donation info: https://tinyurl.com/yzvgl4xo [ Community Drive ] The drive: http://tinyurl.com/yckze665 [ Fruit Machine Database ] Initial google sheets (WIP): https://tinyurl.com/2c5znxzz [ Fruit Machine ROM Archive ] The archive: https://tinyurl.com/3jhzbueb [ MFME Launch ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/MFMELaunch [ Oasis ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/Oasis [ Sound ROM Editor ] Source code: https://github.com/johnparker007/SoundRomEditor
