Does anyone know who made this layout please?

I've had a request for a machine, the best of the two layouts from the legacy section is this:

The only info is that is was converted at some point using FMEConv.

So... is this an orphaned layout?  I need to know if there's anyone I can realistically ask for permission for this conversion (to Arcade Simulator), presumably from an older fruit machine emulator.

Cheers :)

Thanks man - the original request was for the version by ACE, I should've put that in my post!

This one by Crystal looks very similar, I've checked to see if it'll still scratch their nostalgic itch :)  Cheers man :)

Ah cool, thanks very much for finding it!  :) I need to up my searching skills game...

So, I see submitted by 'duplu' - is that an alias? (I've started noting these down where I can, so I can figure out who's who) .... or is it just someone else converting/uploading Pook's layout?

Duplu was the owner / admin of Fruit-Emu.com for many years (possibly since it opened?) and seem to recall at some point, when all the layouts were re-uploaded, he was tagged as submitting all of them :)

Currently owned digitals : T7 Encore, T7 Original, Astra iPub and Storm Street Casino.

MFME cabinets : Genesis cab DIY by No1Stoney, Interplay conversion and Vegas Strip conversion (both are works in progress!)

It’s was submitted by duplu (site owner at the time)just like most were submitted by Ady, this made it harder to find the actual creator, some of my early work was submitted by others on that site.

Thanks guys for clearing that up - I've made a note about duplo and Ady :)

So do you know if Ady is the same person as Adydb, who did actually create some layouts?

@johnparker007 FME history is a bit of a nightmare - lots of arguments and things over the years, lots of name changes of members. Some layout designers must have had (I'm not joking) 10 or so usernames over the 20 years or so, although not all of them are still active.

Sure we'll be able to help you work out who's who if necessary but obviously some people have changed names to remain anonymous and some just disappeared over the years for various reasons.

Quite often we can identify layout designers based on styles, since layouts are basically art, and many people use the same style / techniques on later layouts, even if not early ones.

I guess one positive is that monitor resolutions and things have improved over the years, so many of the older DX layouts will have been superseded by more recent, higher resolution versions by current (or current-ish) designers :)

Yeah - I guess the anonymity puts a damper on an idea I had, to make a public spreadsheet that was an 'alias matrix'.  So it'd have most recent name on left, then previous ones in the columns moving to the right.  One row per actual person... But to be  honest I haven't been massively plagued by this, there's so many layouts that I can often just make a note move on... and like you say, when an ancient layout is only 768 pixels tall, there's usually a higher res one that is better to convert over.

I guess this thread has a generally relevant title as it is :)  So if I get stuck again, I'll post layouts on here and draw on the knowledge of the community  - much appreciated!  :)
