  2. As some of you may know I collect and restore vintage laptops so thought I would share some of them here. Starting with the Zenith Supersport ZWL-184-97, this one is a British Telecom branded version from 1987 or so Original Specs 1 Floppy Drive (720kB) 1 Internal 3.5" Hard Drive (20MB) Internal 2400Baud Modem Extended battery pack (originally lasted up to 7 hours, still working) 80C88-2 CPU at 4.77/8Mhz 640kb RAM 640x200 CGA Monochrome display (Blue/White) Full Size Keyboard The HDD is dead and is a rare proprietory MFM/RLL one so i have removed it (reduced the weight quite a bit lol) I replaced the floppy drive with a Gotek Floppy Emulator, the machine works with the 2.5 Mb DD floppy images supported by the gotek so a decent substitute. I have also got a 100mb Parallel zip drive working as well ZDS SupersPort - Service Manual.pdf

  3. My method is a little different - I use Acronis True Image 2016. Below is all the backups I have taken... The folders are not full apart from one, the backup program just insists on recreating all the old ones that sit there empty. PC originally brought in Aprtil 2016 for Vive and lots of full backups since then on the folder dates shown. If it's been too long since I tidied up - I often check the last backup and look at everything that is installed since then and simply roll back doing a full restore of C:\ if there is nothing new I care about - anything new that I do - I can reinstall. The metric I use is simply - is the reinstall going to take more then twenty minutes to resotre what I care about ? If yes, I remove everything that I don't care about and backup the PC to a new image. If no, I roll back to the last good backup. Keeps it working quick and fast - and pain free.

  5. I’ve hit jackpot on the line once before and seenit other times, the way the middle and third reel step up for the jp by numbers makes it a kind of advanced stop n step. if you hit nothing it’s a quid win but that’s harder to do than you think!!! The jackpot lines up quite often and you can hit lines too but there was never any need, made my think now though, might have a good go at it with the emulator and share screens, tbh it’s been so long I’m hitting the 4 in the middle quite often on last few tries so I’m a bit out of touch!! Also forgotten the mixed bar setup for it to be jp set on shoot em up too, I’ll try and remember that to share as well

PCP - Moneyline & Loony Bin Tech: MPU3 Here's 2 identical machines with 1 slight difference, the reel feature on Loony bin you stop the centre reel for a chance of a 2 or 3 of a kind win, and on Moneyline it's the left reel for a 2 of a kind win or sometimes a 3 of a kind win. Keyboard shortcuts in the notes. Thanks to Wizard (RIP) for MFME @Amotfor the Moneyline Roms & Images The Loony Bin rom provider @riche100for the Loony Bin flyer @AK45for testing. Plays in MFME V20.1 only.

  13. Like you say, it's far too easy to lose £350+ on these things in no time at all. They shouldn't exist anywhere unregulated, especially where people will be drunk.
