Members here call that leeching! Site donation should be mandatory I think, and possibly MFME player technically a subscription for first 3 year's and then you have licensed copy. I'm only new myself, but I can see how people get pissed off with people coming along, taking and never see any activity again. I mean.... at least make an effort to join in! I know some people aren't chatty or into forum discussions.... but a thank you on a layout post goes a LOOOOONNNNGGGG way! Me, personally, cannot make layouts and don't have access to resources. Instead, I show my appreciation without fail, and make the occasional - small - donation!
