  1. thank you @wearecity gonna give this a play later
  2. well, it was blindingly obvious, but for whatever reason "targ" in test mode determines how many £1 coins the hopper can take. Though I still wonder if having it at £200 as opposed to £500 changes gameplay at all, for whatever reason. Unlikely, but hey...
  3. yeah it's definitely on the harsher side - i've just had a 150 streak though, a mixture of all the other symbols. I wish I knew how to access the internal stats and see things like profile. But in test mode it doesn't seem to do anything, and there's only 5 things in test mode (thought there was 9?) and refill just shows you hopper levels, even with back door open There is something i'm not sure what it does - but in test mode option 5 is "Targ" when i assumed was for changing the %age - but it isn't.. all you can do is change the value from 200 - 500 in H1 (hopper 1 i assume) - but I wonder what it does and why it's listed under "targ" - I wonder like you said, it's a profile thing, the lower the number, the cheaper it costs to get a streak?? I doubt it though, why would it mention the hopper in the first place. Seems weird, well there's only one way to find out!!! Gonna copy the game into a seperate folder, ram reset, and lower that value and see how it plays. Speak later Edit: At the moment, the one I have with 2300 through it, is set to 500.
  4. so after 2300 in, i called it a night - then fired it up this morning - to my horror, the dreaded ram reset bug - it was flashing and beeping, and low and behold my stats had been wiped even though mfme meters were still showing 2300 in for 1600 out. Thank fuck i've been backing up my gam and ram files so i'm back to it's previous state of 2026 in for 1500 out. And for this two grand in... i've only had 3 jackpots. People have been saying this machine is brutal, they're not wrong, but this is just stupid. I've no idea how or even if it will get to it's 86% payout when it's about 600-700 quid behind
  5. You know another thing I've just noticed, and it's a real facepalm moment @AK45 I'm about £1220 in at the moment, running at 56% payout so far. During that money, i've had "wink" nudges 3 times - which, because the 7 seg is really small, it's really hard to see if it's winking for £10 or winking for £100. Now originally I posted it was winking for £100 every time (as the wink nudge is so infrequent) - however I've just had it wink for 9 nudges, with a bar on the middle reel, a bar 1 nudge away on reel 3 so thought yeah, my theory stands up - it's so infrequent it only ever winks for £100 wins - NOPE haha the bar on reel 1 wasn't there. So I wonder if it winks for £10, but you have to be careful and see if the JP is within 9 nudges away Love learning stuff like this, keeps you on your toes
  6. So finally got a jackpot (cost £863 from ram reset) - and noted that it paid £100 not £70 doesn't explain your predicament AK, but does explain why its really difficult to get the jackpot in the first place. Currently running at £873 in, £520 out - running at 59%
  7. I guarantee it's ram reset itself, whether its an emulator issue or the ram is getting corrupted when you exit mfme somehow - the meters in MFME don't necessarily correspond with what's on the internal meters. Say with the ram you posted - there's no way the machine is £700 behind and the hopper is showing as empty
  8. it's all done automatically, so whenever you close mfme down or load a different layout, it saves the stats, and whenever you load a new or different game in, it automatically loads it.
  9. Welp.. I just fired this up to play again.. and low and behold all the lamps were flashing and the machine was beeping at me with an error on the 7seg, so the game has just ram reset itself. Annoyed as i'm back to square one - even though the meters are showing £200 in for £120 out - hoppers are showing 0 in them and as the game booted, was showing Clr on the 7 seg. I reckon this must have happened to you at some point @AK45 Thing is, this ain't the first time it's happened to me so it's getting frustrating keep having to go back to 0 in and out.
  10. So I've put £134 through it, to win £5. And what I thought above, about the gam file being read only is nonsense because I closed down the layout, reloaded it and the hopper is showing £129 in it, so it's remember my session. I also thought because the ram and gam file names were different to the fml, that might have been causing an issue, but yeah, that don't seem to be it either. So I've no clue, other than - the ram you posted seems to think it's had nothing through it for some bizarre reason and can only assume it's either corrupt (but still doesn't make sense why it remembered my £134 session though) or the game has randomly ram reset itself on start up - which i've had before on this and that poundstretcher game. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, hopefully someone else might know
  11. Edit: Post deleted as my claim about the gam file being read only affecting the ram, appears to not be the case as i've just tried with another machine (making the gam file read only) and it remember where it was at when reloaded - though i'm certain i've had an issue where a layout was read only and wasn't keeping track of where it's at - unless the ram file itself had been made read only haha. Sorry about the confusion. There's still something borked with your ram though, or why would it show it as empty playing now and will report back
  12. @AK45 So already something's not right as when you tick refill, it says the hopper is empty in yours, even though it's 700 quid behind haha. MIne's on the left, which from ram reset I refilled with £200, yours is on the right. I'm still gonna give it a go and see what happens, will report back later
  13. i fired this up earlier, ram reset it and put £100 in and it took £90 to drop cherries that doubled, held with no double. That was the first win - i let auto start do most of the credits on this one. Ram reset it a 2nd time and it's playing a lot better, but this time I'd refilled the coins in Hopper 1 to £200. I kept playing past £100 this time too to £160 and it's paid out £120 (running at 74% - about 12% behind) but as I was playing manually, when I got 3 nudges and 2 jackpot symbols could be left on the reels for a potential hold after nudges, I ignored them and went for lower symbols, with some success, not great, but some nonetheless! Both times were on 50p stake. I do wish I knew how to access the internal stats for money in and out on this so I could see if anything was amiss
  14. post the ram file and see if anyone can get it anywhere near %age lol
  15. Not sure if it's an emulator thing but these concept games seem to play really shit. They hover around 50% payout then streak like mad - that said, I used to let auto start do its thing and I wonder if that changes anything. So like, say on autostart, you get 3 nudges and there's the jackpot symbol 3 nudges away, autostart would go for that. But playing manually and going for the lower symbols seemed to flash holds after nudges a few times. No idea how you're gonna get that back to %age as the £70 version is locked at 86%! I dunno if you've had it on start up as well - if the machine flashes all the lamps and beeps at you quickly, it's ram reset itself - which was annoying as i'd put nearly a grand through it in the previous session only for it to do this the next time I fired it up to chase what i'd put in! It's a rare bug that's happened say once or twice in the time i've had it, but yeah really sucked when it happened
  16. never played one in the real, and would like to find which Mr P's/reelfruits or any other retro arcade that has one to give it a go
  17. welcome! Love me a cheeky pot noodle - chow mein >>>
  18. go into edit mode, right click the coin insert, click properties. in the middle column of options you see "effect", use the dropdown menu to select electronic, hit apply. save the layout and exit edit mode. this works for most layouts, but there are a handful of layouts where the coin insert isn't on the layout as a button, like it might just be a lamp, but the actual button to insert coins is outside the layout (to the side or underneath)
  19. there's another weird one which pops up on numerous MPU5 games in MFME (and perhaps other techs) when you're refilling a machine - in MFME diag window - refilling a £1 coin shows as £2 cash refill. Once the refill is complete and you start playing, it shows normally as £1 cash in
  20. Electrocoins OXO club. I would pile money into that and not care if i blew all my cash on it. For a lo-tech I always enjoyed it win or lose. From the good old days, i'd say Adders and Ladders (MPU4 yamaha synth sounds)
  21. will say as well on the fruit emu thing, that a few things I tried to download that weren't in the legacy section here brought up an error after waiting the 100 seconds - like the file has been removed. As said, i think fruit-emu is done. Dunno if anyone else has this issue at all
  22. even though you signed up in 2017, you need reputation points (regardless of how long you've been a member) in order to start downloading anything. If you don't donate, you're limited in what you can download every day/week/month
  23. There's an FAQ section on the right side of the homepage to DIF for new members That said, your issue is probably to do with your reputation points. When you get enough, you'll then have limits unless you donate to the site which is also shown on the homepage to the right side
  24. Vegas Nights Yes (assuming you mean the Astra multiplayer machine) Reno Casino no as the tech isn't emulated in MFME. EDIT: Just to add, you can download this from DAD'sFME which is hosted on DIF but you need to be a member there https://dadsfme.com/index.php?topic=990.0 is the release thread
  25. aren't the current/better/v20 layouts available here, and on DXcellent and DadsFME, why use that site??
