  1. When we played Tempest I can recall a hack where if you were past a certain level had scored over x and your score ended in 83, if you let yourself die it would clock you some free credits, something like 20. There was another combo which triggered unlimited lives too.
  2. Steve wont let ROMS go, but if you were to engineer a holiday to Great Yarmouth and ask to see his lock up, he'd almost certainly let you in and take photos and the like.
  3. ROMs are an absolute bug-bear of mine with this. The FME community has, through Geddy and many others, sourced, purchased, dumped and catalogued these valuable resources and freely give them up as open soucre on a quid-pro-quo basis. It helps our community and it helps collectors of real machines when the battery on the board has had a midnight feast. It pains me when I see an old machine turn up and the owner isn't willing to have the ROMs dumped and backed up for all eternity. Always my thought is "what if this is the last example of this machine in existence and then a power surge causes them to fry and be lost forever". I think AMOT had the MMM Maygay machine Nudge Bug and sold it to JPM Stu. I have asked Stu so many times for these to be dumped and he refuses as he got called a stupid cunt at the Mecca many times. In his view the grief he suffered means he isn't amenable to supply resources. Gutted as this was a fabulous machine in its day and I suspect it is the last of its kind so when it dies, as it will, any chance of emulation dies with it.
  4. BBS - Bulletin Board Service. A secure website operated by larger manufacturers to provide rom files and other technical documentation to subscribers.
  5. BWB were Bonner Wilson and Bonner the 3 original owners of the company and, whilst using Barcrest cabs as a base for their rebuilds, were not connected to the Barcrest company.
  6. I twatted @Regonce with a trombone
  7. A couple of V20 layouts released by him tonight. Wonder how he got V20 hmmmm.?
  8. I am sorry I haven't posted before, just haven't known what to say, which is a common theme running through everyone's touching tributes. I was deeply ssddened to learn of Wizard's passing. Whilst it's true we had a turbulent past, in more recent times it was much calmer. When he released his Cash or Nudge, shortly after I happened to mention the machine in a post, I was so chuffed that in spite of our past he had given me my most wanted emulation. He was like that, a bit gruff, but a big hearted spirit. I hope he was justly proud of the scene he created and the admiration and adoration for his work, as expressed in the thoughts in this thread, shows that proudness we have in him. I doubt any of us have on our devices a piece of software which is so long lived, so well used, so complex and free at the point of use. That Wizard could have been incredibly wealthy developing and selling other software but chose to invest in our toy which was given for free and which had such a profound effect on so many peoples lives is truly astonishing and altruistic in this world. RIP Chris / Wizard, wherever you are now they are lucky to have you and sadly it is our loss. Tonight I have toasted MFME, your most magnificent of creations and thank you from the bottom of my heart. The scene will be less bright without you around. Gary
  9. Wasn't Dr Who also uniquely a slot payable in Mame?
  10. The list is a moving feast and republished every few months., archiving is pointless in my opinion, unless a singular list is edited and found ones removed and newer ones added, but that's a lot of effort.
  11. Machine is £3k https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JPM-System-80-Clickety-Click-fruit-machine-/254315200555 Thanks, wasn't aware. Thought it was a UK machine originally shipped to USA en masse along with a load of Silver Ghosts. The Cash or Nudge layout was on "that" video. Not having a go at anyone here, it just was.
  12. Most wanted equates to games or rom versions I would love to play again but are currently unavailable, either because resource hasn't appeared, layout hasn't been made or resource is too expensive. Line Up V1 roms. Missing in action but known to exist Hyper Vyper (MPU3) V1 roms. Missing in action and not known to exist Adders and Ladders (MPU3l V1 roms. Missing in action and not known to exist JPM Clickerty Click (SYS80) roms. Known to exist but too expensive Cash or Nudge (MMM). Classic layout exists but not released.
  13. Barcrest as my favourite maker and junky because I was an addict. Pleased I broke my addiction myself before emulation existed and so happy when I found it. Very few things left for me now, but hang around for a few things to appear. Maybe a subject for a most wanted thread.
  14. Your enthusiasm is admired but posting these as cat c fixes it at a point in time. When the gambing commission decide to do a recategorise it may need renaming.
  15. Gauntlet. A game I loved but was sadly no good at. Great concept of allowing you to stay alive with extra coinage https://goo.gl/images/1L3NzW
  16. I wanted Clickerty Click to be the system 80 version by JPM from 1981
