  1. That’s a sizeable download J
  2. I did create an Hyperspin theme for Spectrum but I lost it unfortunately, I'd made some love reflective art boxes, I was gutted, it took me ages to build and also a long time to source the images!! Many thanks mate J
  3. Do you use these in a emu theme? J
  4. Will grab them when I’m back home, could that link stay active for 24 hours mate? J
  5. Would love to get cassette artwork, is it available for download anywhere? J
  6. Playing fruities on a touchscreen will become very uncomfortable long term. Ideally you want a separate touch screen button panel. I priced up an ultra wide 15” that would cater just for the button panel, it was extremely expensive for a home project. Think screen res 1280x300. So button panel flat and a bigger 22” portrait touchscreen for the main glasses. This would be the optimal way for mfme to be played in relative comfort over longer sessions. J
  7. Some suggestions for the next donations... Geddy Gary The countless resources these guys have supplied, plus the rom dat and layout organisation etc J
  8. I sure hope Chris isn’t a recovering alcoholic I know Chris probably isn’t too bothered about money but I think it would be great to do something like this for Chris every 6 months. Maybe an MFME development fund? J
  9. It’s fine, no problem here. I had no plans of converting and re-releasing so thank you Not sure what else I did in JPMemu. Think maybe 3 slots. Ricochet Big Banker Arcadia Anyone is welcome to convert them. They are low res compared to what we can release now but still great to see there is still a little mileage left in those older layouts J
  10. Would this work reg? New members have a small sample selection of layouts to download, so maybe just 5 fixed layouts, older ones at that, they never change. This would kill dupe accounts straight away as there would be no point. After this all members are forced to donate to access more layouts. You won’t be getting any more, “it says I can’t download any layouts” boo hoo nonsense. The key is just having a non rotating fixed selection of layouts for new members. If you don’t donate then you don’t get any other freebies. J
  11. I heard that Chris would rather have a new porche J
  12. It was all down to the Midi port on the Atari ST. I mean maybe GEM was a better GUI than Workbench. I really wanted an ST as well but I was more than happy with my Amiga and Noisetrekker. It was just amazing to be able to create dance tracks and the like on a home computer. I had a few music synths and drum machines back in the day, I would often create overlay tracks and put my Amiga through my mixing deck. Times ;( I miss those care free days and being single with absolutely no real world worries, living with the parents J
  13. Thise things should change when you collect any winnings, unless the in-out meters haven’t been setup. J
  14. I think the top board is activated randomly from a reel win. I’m sure you can tell it’s a top board as the win pays into the bank faster than usual. J
  15. I bought an a1200 back in August, never really got round to setting it up. It was expensive and it wasn’t in the best nick to be honest. I had a flash drive connected with all the goodies, WB and all available games but I never go round to expanding the internal memory plus I couldn’t be having the hassle of having to get it recapped. J
  16. The ST didn’t have any music capabilities, the sound processor onboard was the extremely weak Yamaha sound chip . It was just that musicians adopted the Atari as it had built in midi port and some excellent software like Cubase, Steinberg. The ST was widely used by professional musicians. J

Aladdins Cave was a machine made by Ace Coin it was a clone of Swap Shop. Stevedude mentions it above. There was never a £4.80 version of the PCP machine. J

Yes, an arcade in Ingoldmells had Aladdin’s Cave and Swop Shop next to each other. Both on £4.80 jackpot Didn’t like the game mechanics personally. Think you could still empty the early £4.80 v02 from lines, was a pain though I imagine as it would offer that stupid reel spin feature mostly when buzzed up. J

Nothing stopping somebody creating a layout built with alt roms in readiness for the actual roms turning up. I’m not too keen of hybrid setups personally, really don’t see the point. I do like the look of the artwork on this clone. I can’t recall seeing many of these in the wild, maybe a couple, there wasn’t any round my neck of the woods at all. J

They can but it’s a bit pointless and the matrix won’t be correct. Would love to see the roms turn up. J
  21. It doesn’t appear to obey any kind of bank limit, also surprised the machine alarm didn’t kick in, I assumed most modern machines have a fairly aggressive and robust watchdog keeping tabs on technical faults. If you don’t see the out meter changing or hear it spitting out coins then I guess it’s just stuck in an infinite counting loop that loops round and round. J
  22. Not sure if Geddy uploads them here, I know they are available at Dadsfme website. J
  23. Hey Reg, please could you move all these unrelated posts that have strayed from the rom resources into another thread. Be nice to keep these rom resources dedicated as they can easily get buried with off tangent posts. Maybe in a separate section named ‘Rom problems’ ? I’m the worst offender I might add J
  24. There Isn’t a respin feature on Pound for Pound, your get the respin and extra nudges and that’s that. Not sure I understand what you are saying? Are you saying the roms don’t act like Grand Prix, does Grand Prix have a Nudge Shift and the respin function? Remember these roms are specifically for Pound for Pound there are some differences in game mechanics. J J
