  2. Started work on a proper Eclipse cabinet to replace the one I bought (which doesn't really seem to be any particular real cabinet)... once done will be the correct dimensions and hopefully fairly accurate relative ratios...

  3. THIS SHOULD WORK IF FOLLOWED STEP BY STEP. I'VE KEPT IT SIMPLE TO MAKE IT OPEN TO I HOPE MOST PEOPLE - OLD, YOUNG AND OFF-WORLD. LOADING MFME FOR THE FIRST TIME Due to lots of new members who are looking to play games that have recently joined, there seems to be some problems, at least in my PM's in getting games running. Here is a real basic guide for getting everything running. 1. The first thing you need is MFME, go to the link below. Downloads You can download the emulator from there, below is what to look for. For version v19 and later of MFME, you run the installer that you have downloaded and it will auto install for you. Once installed, you need to udpate. Click on the About button and then the Check for Updates button. 2. For older versions of MFME, v6.1 and below you need to install June 2010 DirectX runtime. Direct X Runtime Link 3. or older versions of MFME, v6.1, once downloaded you will have a file in your downloads directory. 4. When extracted you will have a folder that looks like this below. TAKE NOTE ON HOW YOU EXTRACT THE FILE AS YOU DO THIS FOR LAYOUTS. 5. Now you want to play a layout, go to wherever you want to and download a layout as before, the download link is in GREEN. If you don't know how to open a .RAR file, check point 3. and 4. that showed you how to open it for MFME v6.1 6. Whatever method you used on step five ( 5. ) to extract MFME, YOU REPEAT ( DO AGAIN AS BEFORE ON STEP 5 ) ON THIS ITEM YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED. 7. You should have something like this. I have shown in GREEN the .GAM file. This is what you load into MFME. 8. With MFME running that you downloaded in step four ( 4. ), click on FILE, LOAD GAME and browse to the LOCATION ( AS SHOWN ON STEP 8 ) where the .GAM file is located and then you CLICK ON IT. I have shown in GREEN where to do this. 9. Your game will be loaded as below. You are on YOUR OWN FROM HERE AND THERE IS NOTHING ELSE I CAN SHOW YOU when it comes to lauching and running a game within MFME.

  5. Thanks for the pics. I do like to have a nose inside these things. Good luck with the repair! If its a no go, you can always have it as a freeplay, no payout quiz machine and jukebox, or like you say a mame unit. Lots of options if its a duffer.

  6. Just in case anyone was wondering, here's what's inside the bottom door of one of these cabinets, and what the inside of the PC looks like. First up, I'll be taking the HDD out and keeping an image of it, then I'll be taking the PC apart and giving it a good clean prior to picking up my new PSU later this afternoon. Busy day today - got in from work at 23:30 last night, and had to swap my car for a courtesy car this morning before 09:00 (so had to set off at 08:00 to get to local Mini dealer due to traffic). Pleasantly surprised with the courtesy car, a brand new Mini Countryman Cooper S PHEV. Not as sporty looking as mine but surprisingly nippy Then I've got to take mum's Mini for an MOT at 13:00, and will sort out the PSU once that's done. I'll get the PC stripped down and cleaned to pass the next 90 mins or so until I'm tied up again

  7. Reg This has been so informative. I have spent all day sat reading forums, threads, posts, and the detail and effort some of you guys have put in to this community and educate us less informed mortals is amazing. I have enjoyed the videos , tutorials and followed your advice and would highly recommend other newbies to start here. Andy

  10. Next up is Wild Thing 1280dx by Empire Games, Jpemu versions by RB/ROSS, the layout is named with RB at the end, but Ross appears to have been involved and is the uploader on fruit-emu. Thanks to Wizard for helping getting the reels to stay in place. I can't quite believe this is the first MFME version of this, but I can't see it on fruit-emu and I didn't have it for MFME. The club version is on MFME and is an MPU5 machine, also not on fruit-emu, so I'll be cheeky and post that here as well, just in case anyone wants it. 11. Could find an MFME version on fruit-emu, so possibly another MFME debutant. £15 jackpot!!! by Crystal Leisure. Each Way Nudger MK3 1280 dx , Jpemu version by dadsfme.co.uk The play decal at the top says 10p play, but apart from being ridiculous, the paytable matches 30p play, so I've set it to that. The roms will allow a switch to 10p if you fancy a challenge. I like the perspective of this layout, wonder how it would look in an FME cabinet. Each_Way_Nudger_MK3_-_JPEMU_Conversion.zip
