Right theough the all cash era from £10 to £70- you would walk into pub machines happy for no reason at all and spewing thier guts first board. So a trap may not have made any extra money the value was always there. You would play a £15 Barcrest and it would flash 1st board - cos someone had worked after the JP and it was streaking............
So many examples down the years... one of the best being a 5 reel red (with a cashpot) me and my mate went to play.... he was parking up.... i walked in to get drinks..... no one behind bar.... £1 in machine for £70... another £1 in for the £35 repeat and walked out b4 my mate had made it to the door, he asks no good then? ....."nah..... cashpot full but i though the £103 profit was good enough!" We went back for the CP that night.... annoyingly it took a whole £20!
In the busy busy busy and sorely missed arcade days - Ive seen JP's left on line that then hold...... Red hot Rolls with Jp's on the line... credit in and it goes Roll Em! Auto pay roller coaster - on fill up day - exactly £10 off full.... Odd... so watch the lights it seems to be impyling last win roller coaster....20p for a tenner... 20p for £9.60... 20p no repeat - RUDE! (I was tight in those days - didnt want to even waste the 20p unless i was sure...:):))
Plenty more like this when the money was flooding into these things.
Nowadays so much less casual play - its not really happening.
i spent 10/11 hours a day on the palace pier and can't begin to tell you how many profits were just left by the casuals day in day out. made huge money for years then it all started getting a bit more pub based to gamble and in town it's dead reels galore back then, once the jp's got to 70 and being out of the scene it was really unappealing to play at all really, besides the reds of course. now it's more contactless i don't really have cash to lose when drinking which is the only benefit i've found from the changes, it's equally why i'm set against the virtuals soon to be taking contactless in situ etc, that's on way to being the norm and for me and my drunken foolish abandon i fear many morning afters of regret!!

Currently working on MAME stuff, there's a lot of steps involved in this, will ultimately be used to drive the emulation in Arcade Sim with various advantages. When it's finally done from my end, I'll be looking at getting mame to work with AS then back to JPM Electra machines.
holy smeg.. sounds incredible!! just remarkable

Truly remarkable patience and determination you must have! Good on you, and the others that are also working to assist, create, complete projects together or alone in the efforts to secure the internet will always have something other than cats and porn

Well as far as feasibility goes there aren't any blockers for sp.ACE really, it's pretty well documented and all relevant ROMs should be dumped. The reel MCU is not a problem, there's a version of the ACE one dumped and the PCP one as well (which is the problematic one for MFME in the first place). Unfortunately actually emulating it would not be a quick job, not much existing code to work from that some of the techs have in MAME. Currently I'm still committed to doing all the older techs first and slowly moving up to the newer ones, simpler that way. So not right now, sorry, maybe one of the other guys might look at it once MPU4 is dealt with though, you never know
Been a while without progress reports so here's one: Black Box work has advanced so far that I now have a driver going, as of right now 21 Up is very close to 100% working . The plan for now is to get all the older EM reel games going, then I can do the stepper games sometime later. Bellfruit used the tech for quite a while so there's some expansion stuff I've gotta implement later on. Fair amount of mystery ROMs I've found as well, wonder if any Dutch games are going to pop up again
Well I’m just gobsmacked that you can do it and that sone regardless of the time is such a welcome post!! I really respect you guys for doing the work you do and really admire your tenacity and patience with the details you must face on the way! Thanks for the update and good luck as always

I’d love my laptop to work correctly let alone partygames the bloody thing is so slow haven’t been able to go online via lappy to snag some images for a jpm classic now it’s finally woke up to do a 16 hr update then it’ll update again tomorrow. Gonna smash it up in a mo, not been able to open photoshop either
ah mate that really does suck.. i do recall with great hatred the blue screen of update for eternity!! shame your a northener or you could have a upgrade on me

Wasn’t it something to do with, partygames uses an actual computer so mfme can’t emulate that or something on Those lines
that's the reason i was told when as a newbie i came hunting for gold or should i say mega's haha

I have Party Games running but don’t have the video file, therefore it errors on I initialisation. Plus I don’t think wizard incorporated the facility into MFME.
ahhh dad that wet's my mfme whistle... i think you'd go straight to the top of my hall of fame if that became playable.. out of interest would it be helpful if i asked the owner for the program, chances of which are pretty slim but i've found money tends to work haha.. would that even help?? i have no idea as you well know haha

@Altharic @johnparker007 @SomeRandomGuy you guys are astonishing me with these skills!!
now i don't pretend to understand any of it so please excuse me if this is non-viable or just not time efficient etc but is there any way you could get spAce working as the reels have a different board??? (very limited knowledge so excuse incorrectness) but oooh what a carry on was a £3 jp game i adored that has a classic built with lamps and alpha all working in mfme but the reel driver is not??
once again sorry to take away from the progress reports but most of the above is already a dream coming true so i thought i'd ask in the slim chance it's easier than not.. i know @MPU_FIVE owns the machine so maybe the internals are needed and can be facilitated easily over not??
once again guys awesome work.. thanks for it all

Could’ve took perfect pics of this even with the machine on down porthcawl Coney Island amusement park
four player machine
no1/2 no nudge lights or hold lights so had to rely on just the auto nudge lamp lighting up and no start button also no sounds! Ok you might think this is bad but noooo!!!
it gets worse- players 3&4 not a single lamp working nor is the seven segs display. No lamps on the reel decks no lamps for nudges, not a single lamp working on the buttons all of them and yes you’ve guessed it no sounds, I still had a go just for fun. Now that has to be the worst condition machine I’ve played although the glass was in perfect nick as well as the buttons all workedreminds me of cambers sands.. pontins. had a brief looksee as there were 2 reds in there, but the lack of lamps was almost as ad as yours but tbh i think that's not going to be beaten for a good while!!!! i could and can get images as if any more party time images were required haha..
one thing... did it payout ok hahah

Yes, it's been emulated along with the £5 rebuild version.
I know this one below hasn't yet been emulated though :-
i'm guessing they all play the same with different aesthetics? also i'd love to see party games but sadly it's not possible...

The phone rings when the banker makes his offer so maybe linked to the accept or not accept offer text
does the phone dial move
It may light up like those triple lamps on oldie machines like nudge wink and cloud 9 they flash when you get the jackpot attract
as for phone animation I did this poorly when I made the first emulation of a pull handle “classic club” it looked shit but did work to some respect
someone up the correct roms and we’ll test em out sometime
sounds cool... initial though would be one image say left for the deal lamp and another right for no deal lamp to animate the left and right phone image but that's only two but would give a idea until better planned work can be done etc...

It's not Showtime. That was Barcrest's version of linked top-boxes.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was driven by a reel output or similar, or just a spare power output used for powering a light-up top box like a Triple 7 with just a light up (non-video) top box.
learning all the time... thanks.. so it's bell fruit, they do any others like this or was this the original dond? big show off thing to market it maybe?? it's connected to the deal button maybe can assign the same lamp in the layout?

Here's a video from YouTube taken from completely the wrong angle. You can't really see the proper animation of the phone but it gives you an idea of how it works
gwan the 1p box haha.. ok got it.. must be a showtime thing... ( and i know nothing so could be completely wrong) @dad???
-
9 minutes ago, slotsmagic said:
I wondered about that myself but it shouldn't do - unless the software checks for a jam or similar as a safety precaution? I would hope the machine would just provide power to the phone, much like machines would provide power to a light up 'top box'. Would be interesting to find out though!
as i said, i have no idea what it looks like, but is it at all like codfather? i did a version recently that just needed the showtime ticked iirc.. and i'm sure too that @Tommy c did one with the fish working in some description... afk so cant be sure at mo
edit; just seen it on the top image, never knew it had a phone on top.. haha.. skipping the queue..

We have roms for the above but no decent resources afaik. Also take it these are Scorp4 tech so yes they can be done
would love to see the original casino dond done either £5/£25 with the phone up top
do or no do? don't even know what it looks like haha myself
