  1. I started the Action Bank thread - cos it turns out its a £4 token JP (and that doesn't go in the bank) with a £100 bank limit - mad. A few us continued the post with a game suggestion, a loaded game state so everyone playing from same point, and some sort of challenge (usually total wins) on a game. So like £20 through the £5 20p play - Haunted house (which is a FANTASTIC machine to play for fun) I had a streak ready Maygays "Thats Life" which was fun to manipulate as well - so one of the ones I put up. Other games were listed - not sure which ones now It trailed off though, cos only 3 - maybe 4 - of us were making suggestions. @wearecity - Trivial Pursuit annoys the hell out of me! Red boards not giving Super JP for example.... You can add some manipulation of the Barcode, and the middle reel Triv Pursuit symbol features to your list as well though.....
  2. AFAIK - these were mechanical in nature - so no computer program - so literally nothing to emulate.....
  3. Hahaha - its turned into a @Chopaholicshout out thread! Shows how much we appreciate the Manx man.
  4. Hi and welcome. It most certainly is allowed - and is one of the true joys of the site. Look ut for @Chopaholic video posts..... an awful lot of them cover methods (like Pie Factory) best ways of playing and other great stuff. Not to mention full on "empties" some illegal (like turning machines on or off) some just downright shoddy programming. Have a look at posts - and yeah chat away. There a lot of players on here as well who made lots of money in the day. I was good - and knew a fair bit - but only ever part time.... @logopolisknows a hell of a lot more than me. Incidentally - Pie Factory (and some of its clones) are emulated - so you can do the red board knock back. Works on the game cliffhanger (also by Vivid) but in a slightly different way as well.....
  5. The default is it will save the game state exactly as is, so if you X out, load another game, close your laptop - it will save the progress. It is only if you go to file, and exit without Ram save - it won't. Hope this helps...
  6. They are not the only ones! Some £100 roms are criminal... I know someone who put over £3k in a Money Mad Mushrooms without a £100Jp.... I mean, its just shocking programming tbh....
  7. Impressive..... but if a compensated machine gets that far behind - its not that surprising.
  8. It is because the lamps are wrong way round - i took it when i was trying something on it......Which worked and i made Millions!!!! (half of the above statement is a lie)
  9. 19... jeex... that would have been 1994..... just dropped out of university after my first year due to gambling debts and about 2 or 3 years before I began to know what I was doing and finally make some money back off these bastard things..... Welcome by the way..
  10. This one - is definitely cos the 4x goes past the £100 JP - Lots of clubbers do this - in your case - you would have only had to collect a quid or so and could have happily gambled the rest. Even up to the £1000 clubbers this was a thing.... JPM's £1000 five alive (think thats its name) which is emulated here does it - and its clear its a JP gamble anyway cos it keeps telling you the next number. Even the £4.80 AWP's do it - the barcest Super Blackjack and its ilk.
  11. WElcome.... its a blast - and a damn sight cheaper than going to a classic arcade.......
  12. Defo don't be scared of posting - just be courteous. If you read enough, you will see plenty of posts with disagreements, differing points of view that some will simply not agree with. There was one recently about what killed the AWP in scene. Some think its players, some don't and an animated discussion followed... BUT - and heres the key point - its done in a friendly manner - no name calling, no negative reactions needed and the such like. Post away, give your opinion, ask for help, etc - remember though that lots - and probably the majority of us are between 35 and 60 odd - courtesy does matter, so when you get help - say thanks! if its a new download that someone has put some graft and hard work into - thank them. Join in on the mad discussion posts that pop up every now and again - such as the current puppet one. We are all here cos we like fruit machines.... its simple really.
  13. Just before my time this.......and - tbh - not my faves in emulator either.....
  14. And... I believe although I wasn't doing them... that the club versions of some globals where manipulatable on super hold. Club Dungeons and Drag Queens and Rich Chicks were two........ I say I believe - more like I know - cos my mate and his friend where doing these full time. One was a member of the labour party, the other the Conservative party so they could get into these clubs around the country.
  15. And - tbf - a contribution of a tenner for the year is mental good value really.
  16. Yeah - they were great for players. But maybe too much so! I mean, this sort of level of complexity, so that a punter rather than a player will always lose, wasn't great for the industry either. For me, the sweet spot where games like Roller Coaster - enough to keep punters interested and a definite edge for players. Barcrest found this sweet spot in their £10 to £25 releases as well.
  17. I was not aware of that.... TBH though - I only ever saw one - in an arcade - it was not a general release round here....
  18. I never trapped A knights trail - cos i could hit (IRL - no where near in the emulator) the reel skill feature 9 out of 10... and it will offer that much much earlier than it should...... And I hated this one with a passion...
  19. Was never a fan of this - seems quite well controlled - especially all those "I will not Deal" boards......
  20. Its not so much the huge streak and subsequent drought.... its more the fact that any machine can hold every credit for around 750 credits that baffles me......
  21. So... answer is another 160 credits or so.....
  22. So, Back in the day - and on the emulator as well, Lo tech Projects in the £10 to £15 era - machines like Giant Jackpots, Golden Arrows, Jackpot Junction - would quite often give you three nudges - even if you had held all three reels and the JP was there for said nudges. Of course, machines back then wouldn't ever hold for more than three, maybe four or exceptionally five times on the bounce. However - the ****** below has now held on this screen for over 600 credits..............will it ever nudge? I mean 600 credits at 30p play is £180! And the machine is relatively well played in - £1200 in, £800 out long term (figures shown are tonights bash....). I don't have a problem with it protecting the JP - but why hold?
  23. Gladiators on £5.... you could gamble up to £5 and the again anit would give £7.40 or £7.60.... this was anything but free though and if you gambled again and it won.... the machine would reset, pay nothing, and be in the most foulest mood imaginable..... Great programming there!
  24. For me - a perfect example of the real fun to be had in the emulator.
  25. @Dougsta I feel this may have been deliberate on Maygay Clubbers... I was playing a £1000 JP one in a casino, can't remember the name of it for the life of me....Which let me use the move back 3, from a lose on a question mark (with an extra life) for the extra nudges needed for a £500 win..... Then again - it may just have been a massive flaw. @avengah There are a couple of awesome posts on here about Super Blackjack Club - started by @Chopaholic Where he tries to gamble it out without much joy, and the fun some of the rest of us had, getting it back to percentage........ Highly featuring G for George autoplay!
