Alarm 30-51 when making new MPU5 layout?

Hi all,

Wanting to try making a few classic layouts. I could just modify existing ones but that isn't my style, so starting from scratch is what I'm trying to do. Having got some MPU5 ROMsets loaded from planetemu.net and changing a few settings I can't get past these 'ALARM 30-51' errors on the alpha.

According to the MPU5 field service manual these are MUX errors I think? I've tried playing with MUX5E checkboxes, making sure I've got all the lamps I can physically fit onto the screen, but still no luck. I know these machines are Genesis so have left that selected. I'm sure I've tried every possible permutation of options within the Config screen and still the same!!

Can anyone shed any light onto what I'm doing wrong?!

Ta :)

Austin Powers : apow02s.p1 > p4

King Kebab : kbab11s.p1 > p4

Odd thing is I actually had Austin Powers boot! I then saved the layout, saved the game and reloaded. Now it's back to ALARM 30-51 :(

Make sure you have Showtime set to enabled in config

I don't believe it! That was about the first thing I set to disabled and was convinced I'd changed it back at some point but hadn't!

Cheers :)

So much easier when you find the location of the second test switch!

Really wish I'd kept my old Austin Powers (don't remember if I scrapped it or sold it), but wish I'd kept the reels and decals if nothing else.

From memory the main differences were just more rounded bar symbols with the word SWINGER across them instead of BAR, and the sevens were more... funky?

This will keep me busy tinkering for a while. Won't reply to this thread again as don't want to keep bumping it up the front page but thanks again Wizard and everyone else on here :D
