  1. Nice read this thread. @Garywould have an insight if he's still around. He's still on FB. Don't think I've seen him post here since Wizard passed though.
  2. @RegYeah crazy shit isn't it, travelling miles cos someone has a 26" Triniton they're chucking out for the VGA games. Although I do like also having some cores on the HDMI, like the Amiga, ST, Archimedes. Yeah it's loooking like it's going to be cheaper than a 100 for the clone board and memory, then just buy a microsub to usb 4 port adaptor, and you're away. I've got a nice set up, main board, bought a nice see through blue case, the USB board etc. Keyboard and mouse bluetooth, using an usb controller, but might buy a decent bluetooth one - everyone on discord going on about latency etc. We're all 50 or 60 now, a few MS doesn't matter!!! Bulit myself c64c. Well it's a c64c case, pi3b running a bare metal version of Vice, with the Keyrah fitted on the side where the 2 joystick ports, and power in go. All the back ports I've blocked off with similar plastic, painted. But use the tv tunder for 3.5mm stereo out, the video port for a USB port to plug in stuff I only want to try temporarily, using the casette port as an SD card adaptor, with the microsd in, so I don't need to open it all up to add stuff if needs be. Got the entire CSDB site, The curent Gamebase, the Oneload collection, every tape released cos I still like loading the ocean games for the "ocean loader" etc. Taken me about 6 months, a few days to build it, and the rest of time, to buy extender cables, fit plastic plates with the right sized port, HDMI, or whatever. Chuffed with it, boots in under 2 seconds. Andrew.
  3. Ooooo, ya bugger, I'm after this, the first one was free, but the 2nd one you've got to buy - It's only 7/8 quid though. Me and me mate were talking, if you look forums, and itchio, there's more spectrum games coming out now every week, than there was back in the day when every week you went to your local computer shop, bought the latest release you were after, and a couple of Mastertronic games. Even more so on the 64, if your a member at CSDB, it's the same, 100 releases a week, all cracked and trained. And the demos now on a 64, wow, proper trackmos, so it's already loaded the next part before you get to it. Back in 87 a 64 megademo, was one part, press space, wait for the next part to load and unpack! Content-wise, it's better than it was when we were 14. These releases are quality stuff mainly, not knocked up crap in basic. I was playing the two new versions of manic miner the other night, why? Well Manic Miner came out on the NDS a few years ago with different levels, so a bloke did that for the Spectrum. At the same time he released Manic Miner The Lost levels, It's MM on the spectrum, but the 20 levels are all the one that are legit but you won't have seen. Some are from the Dragon32 release of MM, some are from the Oric release of MM, one is out of the Ams 464 release etc. All because at the time, because of the other machines limitation, Bug Byte/Software Projects couldn't do a direct port because of the machines memory and other limitations and so on. Still waiting for the Quest for the golden eggcup 128k, or on the Next though
  4. @PeteWow, I know this is going back a few years, but you'd get 600 quid for it now. Although @Reg have you seen the clone DE10 on twitter/YT, 100 quid for the board (I paid 220 quid direct from Digikey), and 15 quid for the 128meg ram (I paid 50 quid for the ram from the mister addons uk shop). I love it, you've got all those arcades, every 8 bit, 16bbit, and 32bit Archimedes computers. Every early generation condoles from the nes, master system, to the snes, and megadrive, to the N64 and Saturn, and everything in between. All the Gameboys, NEOGEO, PcEngine, and of course the PSX1 etc etc. Working on two projects, 1 with the dos 0mhz collection, did my first cd game to VHD last night PGA Tour 486. And with another lad, doing an Amigavision style release for ST demos. All the classics like the Big Demo, Union Demo, stuff by TCB to the current releases. Not played MFME for months, go to work, come home, play with Mister, weekends here looking after my mam whilst my dad does his taxing. She was in hospital for 3 months last Autumn, pneumonia, TB (fucking TB in 2023!), then pneumonia again, as well as being diagnosed with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's, I didn't mind nursing when I did it as a job in the 90's, but it's no fun when you're washing your own mothers bits in the bath. Anyway, I'm good, clean, sober, lost 4 stone from 20 to 16. And doing great. Scary fact, I'm in charge of people at work! I hope anyone who sees this is to - see you in another few months. Take care of the ones you love, cos at anytime you can lose them someone said to me at a funeral yesterday. Very true. Take care all the crew, and hello to any newbies!
  5. Amber emu by Guitar, used to do that. Was good playing the clubbers each day, you could see which ones had just dropped the cashpot etc.
  6. Is it just me, or when I pick any machine, I think "this has just dropped, some bastard has left it dead!"? Then I remember, it was me. NQ.
  7. Over 40 years on from Hungry Horace, Horace And The Spiders, and Horace Goes Skiing, I still play it. Love the little fella. You can stuff charactors like Sonic and Mario!
  8. 3 years today - still miss you mate.
  9. Yep, that's a real blast from the past - many thanks. Right, I'm off to play Valhalla, and swear at Mary..........I don't think she gets amused by it though...........
  10. Can you attach a fixdat instead from CMP? Thanks.
  11. Nice, the odd new layout, or 326, would be nice! Splendid stuff.
  12. Manors isn't important, its a mothballed station that's hardly ever used..........I'll get me coat.
  13. Get well soon bonnie lad. Take care.
  14. It's all gone quiet said Custard, too quiet said Roobarb Any news? Thanks!
  15. @gemini17 Can you unzip the archive okay? Which Spectrum hardware or which emulator are you using?
  16. Manged to get all of them eventually. Chances Unlimited. Lucky Strike. Snappy Viper. Super LineUp. Thanks to the lad that wrote them and posted his gdrive links. Spectrum mpu3 remakes.zip
  17. Skyrim is a porn title surely? About doing it in the toilets on a plane, must be?
  18. 10/10 for mentioning EE mags, used to love that. Still got some back issues somewhere........... right I'm off to build an FM Transmiiter, a plantpot moisture tester, an RNG using a 555, and a car cassette power supply.
  19. Not checked but there's at least 2 dx'es and 2 classisc. Both £6 jp, and £10.
  20. Many clubs used to do this, after the pot had been dropped, reset it to the max making everyone play it thinking it was due.
  21. I wouldn't surprised, 0.247 already has about 330gigs added upon 0.246.........before anyone get's excited hoping it's the LD's like the Doomsday Project, it's just more Dance type games.
  22. You know, I'm not religious, but in the pet world, there's a thing Americans came up with, called Rainbow Bridge. The idea being, all your pets die and wait for you at Rainbow Bridge, then you all cross the bridge to meet St Peter, and go into the gates of heaven. I'd like to think there's a fruit machine version. All your mpu3 machines, all work 100%, no knackered lamps, artwork looks brand new, and you play, unlimited free spins, to your hearts content. If so, I'll see you there one day.
  23. 2 years today since he last visited the site. Still miss you man.
  24. NOTE - From Bedroom To Billions - Special Edition, 2 x DVD - is now £10. EDIT, I can't get DVD1 to play, for both DVD's, but I can only get DVD2 working.
