Building an idea WibbleWobble's MFME Cabinet build
Luuk replied to WibbleWobble's topic in Cabinet Building
I am so jealous. Love that machine. Great work. -
Love that thing!
-
Thank you Reg for setting this up and thanks Wizard.

Little update. Got the pull arm installed and added a microswitch for the connection to the ipac 2. Drilled holes for buttons and cut out the section for the coin insert front plate.
-
@saunders22 did you print the paper for the buttons yourself? Looks awesome.
-
I believe mfme is setup so that the software will simulate a coin insert and payout. Those settings can be tweaked, altered to your liking within the main program. i guess get the layouts you like and start playing
-
If you pull the handle, then out comes the beer, lol
-
Thanks for the explanation. I'll go with the Pacdrive then.
-
Installed the pull arm today. Needs finishing. But looks good already!
-
So it begins...

As long as it is a Coin acceptor with mechanism that can send a 'signal' to the keyboard encoder, or iPac or what you are planning to use. A mechanical coin mechanism works woth a microswitch that can be connected to the iPac. A cpu coin mechanism needs power, but there are types available that can be connected easy enough.

@Amusements do you have dimensions and perhaps a picture of the front of your cab?
-
I am gonna use a 24V psu and use a 5v relay.
-
Received my Money Controls Compact hopper today. Nice compact device. Perfect for my mini build (23 monitor). I will order a 5V relay to use between the pacdrive and the hopper.
-
Wired direct to the pacdrive and ipac without additional relays, circuitry or whatsoever?
-
@WizardThis might work then: € 1,41 38% Off | 5 V/12 V/24 V 1 Kanaal Optocoupler Relais Module Board Hoge & Lage Trigger Ac 250 v/10A Dc 30 V/10A https://a.aliexpress.com/_B1tfZK

The 'Money Controls Compact Hopper' has a parallel interface. I'll guess to go with that one then. Tnx
-
@Wizard could you recommend me a hopper that works directly with the ipac/pacdrive? If that is possible at all. Maybe one from Ali or something else that won’t break the bank?
-
I am also interested in this possibility, because I am in the process of designing my mfme cab. You man Wizard are a great asset to this community! Thanks.

Just bought a used Bally pull arm handle with mechanism. The idea is that pulling the handle down pushes down a microswitch which closes its contact. Then the ipac would read it as a keystroke. I will also use a regular start button, but I feel the pull handle would be a nice extra touch.
-
That's what I was thinking about. Something like the ones on the pics below. There are 'pull arm kits' for sale, like this one from Suzohapp: https://eu.suzohapp.com/en/products/handle_mechanisms/12-300532 Or maybe a used slot machine part.

Anyone have any experience installing a working pull arm on a self made cab?
-
@jabbathehut tnx for the info! @Reg that one looks great! The shift-function definitely gives more options. In my mini vpin the KL25Z (Pinscape encoder) also has a shift-function. Is that an old cabinet that you customized? I intend on building from scratch around my monitor, but it should also still have ‘enough’ toom to accomodate a sff pc, coin mech and hopper. I noticed the pacdrive.dll in the MFME main folder. Does anyone know is if besides the pacdrive mfme also works with the Ultimarc U-HID?

Hi, my name is Luuk, from the Netherlands and recently joined this site, that has lots of useful information. I am thinking of building my own cab. Already have a 23" touchscreen, a Core i5 pc where I will put an ssd in. I have a question though I hope someone can answer. Plz don't kill me cause I am at noob-level here . - Besids the touch-function I will be using physical buttons that I am gonna hook up to an iPac. The lighting will come from a PacDrive, so the ROM is able to control the lights. How many buttons would at most be necessary? Thanks for everyones response.
