  1. By gosh!! You are spoiling us JP !!! Awesome work on this. I can’t run this for some reason. It worked 1st time now I just get a grey middle section that changes to different shades of grey. Not sure what I’ve done. I deleted all files in the setup folder but it still does it unfortunately. Is there any other places to ‘clean’ so I might be able to get arcade sim running again? J
  2. By the way Retrofruit…. It’s so great to see you back mate, not sure if I mentioned it before, I’ve really missed those M1a DX releases, always meticulously constructed J
  3. Yeah that’s how these BWB try to balance out, they will just drop in a non losing win, in this case blue 7’s. That win is locked in as a flag so no getting rid of that till the win removes that flag. Great machines J
  4. Huge project, thanks for continuing on this. Really look forward to getting involved J
  5. Astra's can be forced but their pay/streak cycle is massive and rather unpredictable. I've seen Party Times and Party Games go hundreds with no decent boards or wins then another time I've seen a single unit being refloated a couple of times as they are into their big payout cycle. J
  6. Massive thanks to Reg and Slasher Nice work JP J
  7. Any changes made mfme will ask if you want to save on exit. What are you changing in the layout? Depending on whether the layout is in a ‘published’ format might depend on what you can save. A published layout has some parts of the layout protected. J
  8. If you need help you really should post a screen shot with these issues and also explain what you were trying to do when this error occurred as nigh on impossible to just come up with answers without any real info. J
  9. Every fruit machine collector should invest time and learn how to hack up their assets. I’ve found over the years that collectors aren’t too bothered about the rom revision it’s more about the machine to them. It’s usually the people that played machines to win and have first hand experience with those delicious early rom versions that want to hunt them down J
  10. I imagine most true enthusiasts of fme have spent money on resources over the years. It’s a hobby so of course we have. I’ve paid people to dump roms for me in the past, I’ve arranged meetings with arcade owners and paid them to let me dump roms, it’s just what you do if you want the resources. I never expect anything for free, these resources all have historic value. J
  11. People will always try and exploit people, especially with the promise of something they know you want. That's pretty shitty about being sold a dump of roms, shame on that member. J
  12. Nice one John. Thank you for adding that, can make a huge difference to some of the older machines J
  13. That's why I often offer a cash incentive, rightly or wrongly. I find a cash incentive is usually not ignored If I want the resources that badly I'm often willing to part with some cash as you never know if you will get the chance again. J
  14. No worries JP. No rush with anything fella. I know you are busy also coding games. Not sure how you do it!! J
  15. Pre-alpha. I like the sound of that for sure . Might get some extra exposure when people can experience themselves. I would love to see the BWB’s, I might have mentioned it a few times before. I think I have some old pics, so hopefully will be able to get rough size. I wonder if the big cab BWB vid machines were housed in normal cab from this era, I have a feeling they were bespoke in that respect, those monitors were extremely heavy etc. J
  16. Awesome work as usual, always nice to see the progress updates J
  17. I can't think that the CPU is getting a somewhat better deal here! J
  18. Games are programmed in high level languages nowadays, I expect coding is structured and fully commented. I would say, especially today that most exploits are just game mechanic or back door oversights simply because it is easy to spot rouge coding. Companies will use some kind of software that can track updates changes to the game code with each amendment (JP would back that up as he codes on a day to day basis). So at least anything newly added that caused some kind of exploit would point directly to the coder making those code updates. Back in the day I suspect that there was at least a couple of rogue coders, but with today’s coding practices I would expect to be caught and at the very least ruin your career or even serve prison time. J
  19. The major issue is that non lose gamble mechanic... what the feck were they thinking with that gameplay mechanic. This is the issue with complex high tech machines, the Deal or No Deal machines released were often quite different gameplay wise, we all know the trouble with new game mechanics, clones just use the same tried and tested base code that has received bug fixes along the way. Fair play to bfm for actually innovating and adding new gameplay mechanics even though it blew up in there face . They can win either way. J
  20. Nice find!! I sold a fairly rare Spectrum utility (educational) for £150 pounds. I knew it was a rare title and it was mint unopened, I put it up on ebay, I had no idea on a price so I put it on for £100 buy it now or make offer. A guy contacted me and offered £150. It completed his collection so he was happy, he'd been looking for this title for years. I just got lucky and purchased a load of Sinclair stuff, it was all absolutely amazing unopened and rare/mint hardware J J
  21. I’m super hyped to get a test version once JP is happy to hook us up
  22. Read back to understand it’s journey. Sadly it doesn’t seem to have much member interest, it will quite possibly change the way you interact with fruit machine emulation. You will be able to play fruit machines and video machines (at some point), also maybe some VR action too. It is a 3D arcade simulator, you can create your own arcades, play online so machines won’t exclusively be played by just you, so there will an element of the unknown regarding state of a machine when you play it, like in real life J
  23. It’s a 3D add on to both mame and mfme. It’s not a front end at all. J
  24. From talking to a mate that used to do these. He says it would often offer boards with no chance of getting to any bar wins, he said you could just sack the board off straight away in those situations. At a stretch you need a bar win to be within 14 nudges. I played it for a while, I would only be going for the £20 plus wins as the gamble is often random, even though it’s in the happiest possible mood pre block it does tend to just lose on whatever number it wants, only safe numbers are 1 and 12. Really enjoyable video Al, love the chatter on these vids J
  25. Yeah think I will create my very own arcade paradise. All my favourite machines all (if possible) running exploitable software I can see a line of all my favourite 2p’ers. Rat Race Lucky Lady Banker Fruit Swop Step n Skip Fruit Cracker Quick Step High Note Aladin’s Cave Bank Raid MasterSpy Hit Line Nudge Money Body Match Times... J
