Jamming devices

Casting my memory back to the good old days of fruities, I knew a fella who said he played a LOTR $5 Jack machine, and it gave him red board after red board, until the hoppers were empty. He felt bad so gave the money back to the Landlord, when he was told someone got banned for using a device on machines in his pub before.

Did anyone out there, ever know if there were real working jammers? or credit hacks. Or did anyone know if there were coin sequence hacks etc.

I remember there was a sequence on Maygay machines with the nudge buttons, and that let you reset the engineers log, but nothing more.

Just thought it might be an interesting topic to talk about!

LOTR etc could streak until an empty, same with a lot of those Bellfruit era, Cop's and Robbers, etc. I remember having £60 to £75 streaks on a few of those machines and a £5 machine is only usually £75 max hopper. Lol, giving the money back was a bit mental.

As for jammers, to the best of my knowledge that was simply an eBay scam etc of people selling nonsense circuitry inside a key fob or similar, sometimes they had nothing inside except a piece of metal for weight.😂

Lots of £5 machines have insane streaks - and often - if machine were sited by less reputable organisations, or even individuals ( I know someone who made a living doing this - would site machines in takeaways and the like - splitting take exactly 50/50 with the venue) would very frequently have a sub optimum hopper capacity. This guy would site £25 machines - on a £50 hopper - so even a normal streak or JP repeat could leave it empty.

I have had a £5 Rainbow Riches - in an arcade streak for a profit of £101.

I have also had similar ridiculous wins on the 3 player Golden Ghost on £5 JP.

Oh - and back in the day - Landlords would accuse you of anything - the amount of times i heard "You have the codes" from disgruntled regulars or the landlord was insane.

What was a thing - when hopper payouts were introduced - was to shine a laser through the reels trying to hit the hopper activation when paying out so it lost count. Also early machines could be "sparked" at certain times (a tiny electric shock) to make things happen. Of course - both of these are on the very much illegal side of things.
