Yeah please don't do this people. It's good to have sensible discussion and I feel some good points have been raised here too. My theory is the reason it's being done in the way it is, is so it can actually be an out of the box thing, as mame can be bundled in with it so it can work from the off. The other reason I believe it's being done is because it's easier to focus on the same part for both MFME and MAME, rather than do it for MFME and have to re visit later. At present, the MAME side is playing catch up to what's already been implemented for MFME. Both of these could be completely wrong of course, but either way, I'd like to see a release of the arcade simulator whatever road it goes down, as I'm sure most of us would.

Because my opinion will be different to a few and I'm not here to cause arguments with long term scene members. It also wasn't worded very well but I'm tired. If anything I've done can be used to keep FME alive, use away. Credit would be appreciated obviously. I doubt it mind since I've only done 3 classics but still

Would be a nice idea for something like this to be created, but in answer to your question listed... Classic - a layout that is basically boxes and drawn out but still plays exactly as the real machine would, just looks different. These are usually the under workings of a DX, which brings us to; DX - a layout based on the flyer or photos of the real machine. PDX - a self-drawn DX, so a graphical representation of the machine, but not done using official stuff, this could be because they haven't been able to be sourced, or because the quality of resources is too low.

Windows 7 isn't supported by Microsoft anymore. Highly recommend upgrading. Windows 7 machines shouldn't be on the internet anymore as they are at risk of all sorts of nasties now with no more updates to patch security flaws.

V20 should resize the window to the max size your monitor can handle. As for missing fonts, I tend to just click ok to skip past it. Most are still playable anyway

Go to downloads, legacy, JPM for the downloads As for the coin thing, I believe if you load the game up and go into design mode, right click the coin in button and tick the lockout check box to stop the error from happening, then close and save the layout. If I'm wrong here someone else will know

I see what you mean now... It's been asked many times. Basically it's like it is because some idiot decided to sell the content thus lining his own pockets, so there was a bigger need to protect the content of the site hence the hoops you have to jump through. Hope that clears this up.

The system in place is how it has been for a long while. While in principle I don't disagree that things shouldn't be stress free, bandwidth etc costs money. Sure, there are sites like mega that people could upload bundled packages of layouts to, but it's been shown time and time again that these sites disappear and things are lost, (as an example, look at clone hero or frets on fire song lists. They're always vanishing as file hosts like rapidshare/mega upload disappear or even Google drive accounts get banned) so therefore this site operates in the way that it does to preserve everything. Of course it's not without it's piss takers or people trying to make a quick buck. As posts above explain, MFME should only be hosted here as per the authors wishes and as per manufacturer wishes (if I remember rightly?) It should not be bundled with any roms or layouts. We have come to accept it like this. I hope I have helped you to understand more now. If you still don't like it, you could always find another scene.
