  1. As I said a real shame.

I think the channel probably went beyond your initial ideas and I can see it would have the potential to upset your family/friends/work and even manufactures.

It's not worth real life issues, just to cater for a couple of thousand people.

It's the same, with all social media, you do have to be extremely careful, not to offend or upset people.

We live in a world, where something said 15 + years ago, can see trouble brought to their door.

  2. I was playing Crystal Maze and decided to switch the reel bounce off, so exited and took it off, then went back and the machine loaded in the background and you hear it playing, but couldn't play it in the arcade.

Then none of the machines would work.

So exited the arcade completely and reloaded it and non of the machines working.

Another exit and reload and now machines loading correctly again.

Is there a log or anything that players can send or attach for you to see what is happening.

One other thing, the lamps on Crackpot are extremely spongy and jumpy, not sure if that a known issue. I seem to remember some talk about this machine before.

Hi John downloaded new arcade sim today  looks amazing and really love the new machines you have put in 👍. This keeps coming up sometimes probably just my crappy laptop also comes up with the second picture, once I minimise the second picture it all works and you can play it, only does this sometimes others times works straight of as you would expect it to, have you any ideas why this is ?

Go into the preferences in MFME and untick Snapshot Reminder, that may stop that happening.

  4. On my first load up, all machines wouldn't start for me, I could hit enter and stand in front of them, but then nothing happened. On the second load no issues.

One issue I can't see on the list, but I'm sure is known about, is that the box amount on all DOND machines are visible and on some the box amount reel isn't lined up properly.

I saw some cabinets, when standing looking at them from a 90 degree angle and from behind the machine, you could see what looks like the framework at the top side of the cab was detached from the rest of the cab.

A minor issue, the feature entry music on Adders and Ladders is cut short and when you get a win, it normally does a drop down of the lamps to the win gained and then does a countdown on amounts lighting the feature exchange against amounts one at a time, but AS immediately show them, rather than light a lamp at a time.

  5. Ah ok, Vecra666, maybe right about you have too few posts.

I'm sure Reg will help you out.

As it's your layout, I guess you can upload to wherever you want. But to keep things as neat and tidy and to get the most people to see and download it, it's best to upload it via the downloads here.

Providing it's your own work, uploading it here, will also improve your reputation on the site and get you a fml artist badge. So people will know you are a layout producer.

  6. Yes,

Click on design, then edit mode (or CTRL E), then click on the configuration tab.

Where it says display port, make sure you check meters, it's probably checked for Displays.

Then close the configuration screen, come out of edit mode (press CTRL E).

Then reload the layout and it say yes to accept changes.

The above will work on several MPU3 machines, that will alarm when trying to enter coins.

I also took advantage of this to fix the Bands of Gold DX you recently reviewed, but although it gets the reels straight again, every few spins they go pissed again, but if i get a nudge they suddenly straighten up again... i'm guessing Bands of Gold does'nt like MFME 20.1 - as i remember on your video you was using MFME 3.2 to play it.

While i'm here, slightly off track but still to do with layouts seen on your channel, did anyone ever do a DX for Sinbad? I know it is a machine you were particularly passionate about.  - I know there's a DX of the German one but it's just not as good a machine as BWB's UK Sinbad.

    Cheers...

    Gary :)

To stop the reels going out of sync, go into design, edit mode, then right click on reel 1, choose properties, then on the left hand side put a 2 in the Opto Tab box and apply the change. Come out and then do that for the other two reels.

It will instantly stop it happening, then just save the changes when finished playing.

There are several layouts for this machine, some have the 2 into the Opto Tab box, for anyone else, thinking it doesn't do that on my version.

Just an idea, you press shift or whatever, and it makes you run quicker, bit like all FPS.

That's the reasoning behind it...............the real reason is I'm too impatient when roaming around a large room. :)

    Thanks!!!!

Or running for the last bus or train, cause you desperately are trying to claw back some money.

Or maybe kicked a machine in anger and are trying to escape from the manager.

I guess overtime the arcade will be configurable so we can create areas of machines. Love to see other user created ones too.

Just tried running Fairground in MFME 20.1 and the dice reel does'nt show the dice when it spins... always lands on the blank red as in picture... also reels are pissed... (winning symbols are below the winline in the pic) - did this happen to you @Chopaholic? - and if so, how can it be fixed?

    Cheers -

    Gary. :)

    Fairground JPM.png

Go into edit mode, right click on each reel choose properties and on the left hand side of the properties screen adjust the reel band offset until the reels line up.

If at 0, adjusting them by just a couple either way usually - 2 or +2 works.

It happened to many sys5 layouts in the later versions of MFME.

  10. Another enjoyable video.

Loved, Hot Dogs, me and a girl I worked with, played it many times in a few arcades. I sent a picture of the layout to her, a little while back on Facebook and she instantly remembered it.

We used to go for Butch 9/10, with the odd time for Fritz. but never Flash.

All the features were worth an exchange, because they could all give £3 +, even Money Belt and Spin A Win.

Fairground, is another one, I played many times in many places, but always found it quite frustrating, so never pushed it for the anything beyond £3 repeat. Always felt the feature board was a bit too short.

Don’t know if we we’re in buttons at the same time but I was there every day seeing how I lived round the corner and could climb trees haha, I had a lot of love for jpms hot dogs! And maygay screen play, but they also had lots of bwb big match, pcp road rage which I loved so much too and of course nudge gambler and its friends! They were great value for enjoyment games. Sad we won’t see those days again

I assume you meant Butlins lol.

I used to go on a weekly family holiday to Butlins Bognor yearly normally in April or September every year from the early 70's until the mid 90's. So no doubt, we would be playing in the same arcade a few times.

  12. Great to see the 2p machines featured.

It's strange, because I remember playing these PCP machines at Butlins when I was late teens/early 20's, due to the fact that a couple of quid could last you ages.

30 years later, when playing them in the emulator, I always had it in my head, that these machines were from the early 80's because of the stake and prize. But they were actually new machines when I was playing them and not a bunch of old machines that had been bought up by Butlins, due to the amount of kids who would be able to play them.

Also played them in seaside arcades, but never really saw them in town arcades in Cities.

Anyone got the link to the spreadsheet?

Just played Indiana Jones for over an hour.  Got it down to about 10% payout.  A token win is not possible.  Even on leap of faith it disables the cancel as if there's no tokens in it.  I've been to the end of ther trail at least 20 times, one bullet, dead.  Oh, and it curiously pays wins in 20p's??

    Token dipswitch not right?

@Chopaholic@serene02You two must have played it - any ideas?  Thanks.

Look in John's signature for the link to the  known issues spreadsheet.

I've replied to you on YouTube but I'll say again here, I'm definitely going to do more videos on these £4 era machines, Loads-A-Money in particular I really remember as being one of those early examples of how we all learned how rechips can totally change the nature of a machine.

Have you got a link to the thread over at The Mecca @wearecity - I'd like to do a bit more of a deep dive into the earlier era of AWPs, when the stakes and jackpots were small.

Barcrest churned out a lot of crap in the £4 era though, that I played in arcades in the early 90s, constant forced two of a kind wins, and those horrible 'nudge bank' things that could cost a fortune to finally get the nudge bank to pay something decent.

  15. Just watched it, on night shift in work ATM.

    Commented on YouTube.

Glad to see you planned some more £4 videos.

There are still plenty of £4 machines, that were great. Particularly Barcrest, who released a lot of clones, Action Bank/Flash Cash etc. Then there's, Cash Counter which had a replay option, to encourage you to put your winnings back in, rather than collect (which I'm sure I read once, they were told off for and so never put it in any other machine).

Then unless I missed a machine, Loads A Money, was unique and is a machine we had some discussion back on The Mecca years ago, because the roms released in the layout, shows how a fun machine, was turn crap by different roms.
