  1. Chopley has asked for some interaction from members about the history videos, so I'm sure your 3 seconds of fame could still happen. Those who are interested in FME, would never leave, the scene has never completely disbanded or stood completely still. I reckon, many old members are still around, but a lot just don't contribute anything. We also have the dippers, who, dip in and out of emulation projects. I for instance look at lots of emulation projects on and off, but never post anything anywhere, just download and play. We've also seen some people come back, then not post on forums, for months or even over a year. For instance an old time member, who was enthusiastic on The Mecca in early February, but hasn't even visited the site for over a month. Perhaps for them, getting back into FME wasn't all that it seemed cracked up to be after all.
  2. That layout look so cool, it's got that 2001 vibe.
  3. Nice to see a big up to Pook. Dr Who, was one of my favourite machines back in the day.
  4. Not watched the second part yet, but I do hope these continue. If you are at the hovel opening period, you are now for me at a critical part where you probably need to choose a path to go down and stick with it. I guess it's how in depth you want to go. Month by month would mean really going into fine detail, even then doing year by year after say 2002, could still be fine detail. Or you could do a few more general history and key moment videos. Then do individual videos with topics such as Other FME emulators, FME forums through the years. MFME through the years. Perhaps one on layouts and the designers. Whatever you do I'll definitely be watching.
  5. I disliked Reds back in the day, but still played this sort of Red quite regularly. Took some massive beatings, because I thought £50 to £100 would be enough to not run completely out of change. But at a typical London 70% to 78% payout you can see how it wasn't. Emulated, was disappointed v10.1 didn't support them and was so looking forward to v5 doing so. They are good to play emulated because of their unpredictably. Not being critical of the video, but unless you deliberately attempt not to play them at all like a normal punter, like in the video, you'll never know just when it's likely to give you a £35 or top feature. Having said that even with your playing style in the video, it still had the capibilty to say fuck you, I'm still not going to play ball with you.
  6. Back then it used to annoy me when a lot of posts were off topic. Just talking about absolute bollocks. I remember a thread about central heating got me hot under collar, lol. One memeroble thread was one about Russ running down the road screaming while being chased by girls.
  7. Will you be mentioning that in your FME history videos lol
  8. WFMHT = Duh, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, dah, da. Need any more clues There was a good chance of a DX a long time ago now, but not sure if decent enough images were made available in the end.
  9. Next up is Wild Thing 1280dx by Empire Games, Jpemu versions by RB/ROSS, the layout is named with RB at the end, but Ross appears to have been involved and is the uploader on fruit-emu. Thanks to Wizard for helping getting the reels to stay in place. I can't quite believe this is the first MFME version of this, but I can't see it on fruit-emu and I didn't have it for MFME. The club version is on MFME and is an MPU5 machine, also not on fruit-emu, so I'll be cheeky and post that here as well, just in case anyone wants it. 10. Could find an MFME version on fruit-emu, so possibly another MFME debutant. £15 jackpot!!! by Crystal Leisure. Each Way Nudger MK3 1280 dx , Jpemu version by dadsfme.co.uk The play decal at the top says 10p play, but apart from being ridiculous, the paytable matches 30p play, so I've set it to that. The roms will allow a switch to 10p if you fancy a challenge. I like the perspective of this layout, wonder how it would look in an FME cabinet. Each_Way_Nudger_MK3_-_JPEMU_Conversion.zip
  11. Nice to see this done. Just to clear up my problem in getting this to run, looking at what Reg and now Wizard did, the problem was caused by the fact, I was using 3 program roms. I didn't have this installed on Jpemu, so I downloaded the version straight from fruit-emu. The download has, another rom 4p1.bin file included, so naturally I put too many roms in.
  12. Kapang, uses the arcadia sound and sadly it doesn't work anyway. Shame looks interesting and artwork is very good, possibly a from scratch MFME candidate? It converts, you can load the bits and pieces into MFME v5.1. Then you put the roms in, hit start and it does nothing. The diag shows it doing constant read and write operations. You go to save the game file or the layout file and it throws up violation errors. Then even just trying to close mfme itself or load in another layout and it throws up violation errors and you have to ctrl alt del to force close the emulator. Trying it via the v.1.1 and v5.1 method, it then says invalid pointer.
  13. Love to see a DX of this one day. Possibly my favourite WFMHT machines, although all the hi-tec machines with that feature were entertaining to play.
  14. We currently have a 1024 dx for MFME So here's a Bonanza 1280 DX by ??? (sorry don't know who did it). No issues with it as far as I can tell and I've played a few quid through it while testing. For those interested, it would only pay out in 20p's, so I've added checkbox 61-67 and now it pays out £1's as well. Guess that's not 100% correct for emulation, but hey it worked. Think the Electra cabinet for this is wrong, the MFME version had it in the Indiana Jones style Vogue one, which IIRC is the correct one. Bonanza-_Jpemu_Conversion.zip
  15. Just in case anyone missed it from the DIY fixes thread at fruit-emu, here the post and another one. Your Lucky Knight 1280 DX by Pook. We only had a 1024 DX for MFME for this, so was keen to convert a 1280, really high quality Pook dx. This proved to be easier said than done. Warning, waffle follows below...but hopefully useful info for those looking to convert. Normal way of converting is to use FMECONV 3.0 and then load in bits and pieces via MFME v5.1 and then save, so it opens in v6.0, not with this bugger though. Trying to load the converted .dat file into every MFME version from v1.1 to v5.1 gave an invalid layout error or a violation error. Only way I could convert it in the end was to use FMECONV 2.0, which converts it into a .res not .dat file and then use the 15 year old MFME v1.1 emulator, which is the last emulator to allow loading of .res files. But as v1.1 doesn't support Impact, I couldn't use v.1.1 to do anymore than to save it into .dat format. After that, the .dat file was openable in v5.1, the layout was set up and saved in v.5.1 and it now opens in v6.0. Phew... yourluckyknightwdx.zip
  16. The ones here are for use in v6, if you find some of the older conversions from the fruit-emu thread http://www.fruit-emu.com/forums/topic/52784-layout-diy-fixes/page-1 not loading into v6, then load them into v5.1, then once you close the layout down and it saves, then it will work in v6 and future version of the emulator. But I don't believe there are any that won't load straight into v6.
  17. I converted Maximum Overdrive and you make mention of a possible larger version in the DIY fixes thread http://www.fruit-emu.com/forums/topic/52784-layout-diy-fixes/page-21#entry305425
  18. The attached version was the MFME version, I'd deleted the jpemu conversion version after seeing there was a MFME version already. Not sure if you saw Vec's message above. Tommy said checkboxes 61 - 65, Vec said 64 and 67. Adding just checkboxes 64 & 67, checking them as well as clearing the checks out of hoppers 1 & 2 and then reloading the layout and it paid out on the original MFME attached version................Jpemu version below, which also works with checkboxes 64 & 67 added. Here is the JPEMU conversion, which is slightly better IMO. Adding 64 and 67 also has worked with this version. Sorry for any confusion lol. Sonic_The_Hedgehog_-_JPEMU_Conversion.zip
  19. Will take a look, in the DIY FIxes thread, towards the beginning of the thread, I listed a lot of Scorp 4's that can have both hoppers unchecked.
  20. Here another debutant on MFME. The Reel Thing DX by Cheese. The machine artwork used was Crystal Leisure's but the roms are ACE roms. The machine works absolutely fine and it's a twist on the similar JPM and ACE machines of the time, the way the features are done, a la watch for my hidden treasure style. Cheese notes on the side of the layout, give some issues with the original layout and they are still present after conversion. I cannot find a button number for the auto nudge to the features, but you can hit collect anyway and nudge manually. The_Reel_Thing.zip
  21. Thanks for this, the issue is simply the checkboxes were missing. I added them and now it's working great. Must say I forgot about Reg's version.
  22. Can someone take a look at this, converted Sonic The Hedgehog, before I realised that RB had a version for MFME already, but none of the sonic layouts for mfme, appear to payout. Tried refilling them, with well over £100 in coins, checking the refill box, with doors opened and closed, enabling and disabling one or both hoppers, but still not paying out. Can someone explain how exactly it is done. Sonic.zip
  23. Doh, that's why I never made my fortune. Nice story. They must have thought you were keen. Yep I forgot about the several times on the video, you mentioned it had to be during the count up
  24. As you said in the video, this isn't the only one. Cloud 999 also used to have the streak in it on the 2p play at Butlins. It makes sense really, factory reset, generous, then go on the streak a few quid later and then just plug it for a factory reset. It all seems so simple. I guess if you knew a place where the machines were switched off overnight, you'd be outside waiting for it to open every morning lol.
  25. Going to post this here as it was here, where the discussion took place. Thanks very much for this, it is such an iconic machine, nice to see if it plays any difference to the MPU4 version. Seems to be a bit speedier, I guess because MPU5 up the stakes processing wise. All we now have to ask in Harry Hill style, is Boulderdash or Ooh Ahh Dracula?
