  1. I’ve had the streak on a 02 £4.80 Grand National. It does seem anything v04 £6 don’t have the same profile, likely due to the enriched period being outlawed. I’m still going to keep at these and make the line wins free, shame about those forced streaks as it was one of the pitfalls of doing the lines, giving it an element of jeopardy Still it’s kind of fun to experience the trick on the games we don’t have early software for. J
  2. @johnparker007 Exactly, some of the original old revision code is still present in later revisions but routine never called in the update J
  3. Ah, I've hit a snag to some extent. I won't be able to fully realise the original £4.80 unchipped versions. I can make the lines free but all V04 onwards on £6 setting and later £4.80 revisions than V04 don't have the forced mini streak mechanism and I'm starting to think that the streak pot has been removed also. I've played Hi-Flyer V04 £6 token extensively whilst testing my hacks and have yet to hit either the forced mini streak or the usual saved for streak. I even reverted to the original unhacked version and no forced wins or streak. It might drop in the odd win here and there but no pronounced forced slow rolls. @MikeP @Boulderdash Has anyone of you guys streaked any V06 £6 token versions of any of the band aid machines in mfme? I do wonder if this was removed due to enriched periods coming into question in mid 1990's. Would make sense. J
  4. Open the Box 02 will work, just exchange double bar wins and take any line. We don't have a HiDeHi 02 version sadly. I'm hoping to make a Pay Rise, Camelot and Pound for Pound, though the Pound 4 Pound we have plays very oddly. J
  5. So, have been dabbling with this little project when have spare time. I started working on Pound for Pound. I started by making the jackpot wins off lines free, so I was testing and I'm thinking it's buzzing but where are the mini streak roll ins to compensate for being over %? I was thinking I'd done something to affect that but I loaded the original P4P 04 roms and indeed these don't have the corrective % watchdog profile. How odd as I've played a P4P 02 in the wild and it definitely had the roll ins!! So, I figured that I'd try other versions. So 05, and 07, none of these have the corrective %? How utterly odd that they would change this from earlier versions, all other versions of the clones seem to have the mini forced roll ins apart from P4P. I remember someone saying to me that there was something else on this machine, they could be right, maybe there is a way to manipulate it after all as it certainy won't try to level out when way under. Interesting. But, those lines are free, though I need to address the nudges being offered on Nudge Quick as I'm fairly quick but 03 seconds on start is might tighty J
  6. The latest version won't work but you may find v19 will work on Vista. Layouts for older versions might be hard to find mind as once they have been edited in v20 they need this version to run. You might consider upgrading at some point in the future J
  7. You must have downloaded something? You have enough rep points. Like Vecs said there is a download limit per week. If you consider donating you would find you have unlimited downloads available. J
  8. If you have artwork you can go straight in and make a graphic layout, you don't need a classic layout to create a DX. J
  9. Classics are usually built in the absence of decent machine artwork. The guys that create them and I’ve done a couple, they can be harder work than a DX, especially if it’s a machine we don’t even have an image of for reference. DX designers will often use a classic as a base for their graphical version. J
  10. Compared to old ZX Spectrum game production newer games released seem so much better, technically at least, is this partly down to people sharing code and more powerful development tools? J
  11. It astounds me what people can eek out of the ZX Spectrum’s fairly limited specs. This looks pretty damn cool!! Looks silky smooth J
  12. Thank You @superbank very handy to see those other options. j
  13. Yeah, something doesn’t seem quite right with it. I might try an older emulator version. I’ve definitely had these on 10p play, the 03 version!! J
  14. I was doing some test hacks to make line wins free, I used to empty these back in the day. I thought I’d cracked it but it just seems to recognise that lines wins are there and won’t always nudge like it did on the older version. I’m wondering if there is some kind of line counter they employed. Even when I set the machine to pay nothing on all wins including lines it will recognise a line and after a few stop offering nudges!! It beginning to annoy me somewhat Anyway cheers for any help bud, I was ready to punt my laptop out the window, like I said I had it on 10p, I just don’t know what the hells going on anymore!! Too much hacking about with roms I reckon J
  15. Is there a dip setting info sheet for any Sys1 Ace machines, so annoying messing with the dips when you don't know what their purpose is!! J
  16. Cheers Boss ... Actually Doh!! I have my laptop with me for work ha ha. Here is that rom, it is definitely switchable but it's literally winding me up. I've had it on 10p!! I just don't know what the dips do as some on bank 1 and 2 alter the %??? J pa565p3a.zip
  17. Ah, I just realised, I have the 03 version of Play it Again deluxe running, it's definitely switchable.. I've had it at 10p play then I started messing around with the dip and I can't for the life of me figure it out!!!! I'm away for a few days, the 03 rom is in the Play It Again rom folder archive, it's the Deluxe version and the rom is combined so there is only one 32k rom. No worries if it can't be figured out, it's just making my head melt Thanks for the info and posts guys, much appreciated J
  18. Ah, makes sense, I'd say that was totally manipulated from source as it doesn't make sense that other clones with a similar feature 'OTB Find the Pea' isn't free, they all share the same base code. J
  19. My personal favourite emptiers were I've managed to make the lines free on Sys1 Play it Again, it could take a bit of an age to do as you had to know how the reels were going to land etc, it had an element of skill involved in that way, as boring as it was it was still a buzz to empty. Not sure how feesible it was set on 20p to be fair, on 10p it still had the same win values so it was cheaper to get. Plus the Deluxe version didn't have the % watchdog so it just stayed in that happy to nudge for anything state. J
  20. I heard someone went to jail over this back in the day... looking at the code, it could have easily been a mistake, though I'm not privvy to the source code, this is compiled code obviously, if he was in jail who fudged the Spot the Ball in a similar fashion? Spot the Ball was a later bug, only on the £6 token v1 - v3 chips it would seem. I mean 'Find the Pea' on Open the Box doesn't work on the early version 02, which I always found odd since the code across all these looks to be roughly the same base code. I'd assume if this was a genuine mistake it would have been in all those clones as there is no need to change that part of the code barring to accommodate for the higher £6 value. On early 02 version OTB, it basically does something different for line wins, whilst the 04 jumps to a point in which the win is accounted for. Strangely the code in this area is exactly the same so the code was there to take account for those wins even on the 02 software, I dare say I could fix the 02 bug just by rerouting to that set of routines. Was the same guy involved in the Spot the Ball emptier?
  21. @chloe Hey Chloe. Don't suppose you know the dip settings on these SYS1 to change stake. I've had these in 10p play but no matter config I use it doesn't seem to be working!!! Bloody nightmare J
  22. I'm not sure what the dips do, I imagine there is a manual for a similar ACE Coin machine kicking about somewhere and it would shed some light on the various settings. Though I'm fairly confident one might be higher token wins, can't be certain, but we must have a user manual for one of these slots, someone will have one. J
  23. I won't be doing any layout related work on this, if there are images maybe throw them up to DIF, I'm sure someone would be willing to do some work on it. J
