  1. Just noticed too that those stones/bricks just above the buttons shouldn't be there as they're just part of the flyer background.  If you look at the image I posted above they're absent,

Also I've found the whole flyer.  Not sure if its any higher res than the one @wearecityposted, but It might be useful.

I recently got Spiker the Biker and Happy Notes for my emulator, but it says that  it's unable to download/find certain roms. I'm currently using the newest version of MFME. Is there anything I need to do to fix this? Thanks.

Here's the full set of roms for both machines.  Just add them to the appropriate folders and they should work fine.

Happy Notes (Bellfruit) [Rom].zip Spiker The Biker (Barcrest) [Rom].zip

Moon Cresta a great call. You'd hear that music in many arcades for a year or two. Good game too but hard.

    Is the game Star Castle?

That is very very similar, but the one I'm on about was just green wire frame graphics (no colour) and a lot slower.  This one goes like a bat out of hell and I'd stand no chance lol

The one I played came out around 1979-ish

    [EDIT]

Having looked at a few Youtube vids I think you might be right about Star Castle, although the one I recall must have been a very early version.  The gameplay is pretty much how I remember it.

    Thanks very much :)

  4. Space Invaders - original version (I was the arcade champ on that)

    Galaxians

    Moon Cresta

    Pacman

Defender (was really terrible on that but would like to get better)

    Asteroids

    Missile Command

    Space Raiders

Plus one I can't remember the name of which I've mentioned a few times on the forums......

It was wire frame graphics with controls the same as asteroids.  It looked like a web with like a block in the middle (possibly a space station).  You had to shoot away the lines on the web to get to the middle.  On several of the web lines were tiny balls which when released used to fizz around the screen trying to kill you and you had to shoot them down.  Once all those were destroyed and the ship in the middle blasted away you started again with a new full screen.   It was a brilliant game and I got quite good at it - just wish I could remember the name!!  Oh yeah, I definately know it WASN'T Tempest!

Me too, i had one back in around 1992 or so, had a 20 mb hardcard its previous owner had fitted, which was slow but good enough, used that until i got a 486 around 1995 or so. Was slow but reliable. paid around £30 for it

After my 1640 I got an Elonex 386sx with 2mb of ram.  I upgraded it to 4mb and the 1mb chips cost me £22 each lol. Been building PC’s ever since until a few years ago when I just gave up after purchasing my gaming laptop.

  6. I had one and loved it!  Cost me £40 and a few days later had to get it in for repair due to a 'parity' error, but after that it worked perfectly :)  A bit later I upgraded to the 1640 with a 20MD (yes 20MB) hard drive and a whopping 8 colours.  I also installed my first 8 bit sound card and couldn't believe how good it was!

    HAPPY DAYS!

  7. Such a shame but fully understandable.  I've spent many a happy hour viewing the videos, some of which I wished I'd kept now, but nevermind.  I'd like to add a personal thank you for my tribute/electro video which was fantastic.  I still get a kick out of playing PoolPlay :)

Merry Christmas and all the best for the coming New Year.

Hot Dogs and Fairground for this one, thanks to @dad and hurtand for the layouts featured.

I really enjoyed that review of my old DX Degsy, thank you! Its years since I played it myself.  If I remember correctly this was my first dabble with trying to do a 'Photo DX' and was a royal pain in the arse.  Lots of flashburn everywhere and having to redraw stuff.  I had a request not so long ago to redo this one from the original photo and thought  - sod that!!  Even now with much more experience I don't think I could improve it that much TBH!

Anyway, you mentioned in the Video if I'd be happy for you to release a MFME 20.1 update.  It goes without saying that I'm more that happy for you to do this, as I would be for any of my older layouts if you wanted to do so in the future.

    Cheers
