Make sure graphic and sound drivers are upto date as well as Windows itself. Also the emulator doesn't seem to like being renamed or moved, if you've done that at all. There was a while back when for a very brief time, people had issues, after a Windows 11 update, but I don't know of anyone with Windows 11, having permanent issues. If it doesn't work, then I can send an updated version of the emulator that works fine on Windows 11 for me in a PM. I know this has helped when others have had issues after downloading v20 from here. So might solve any issue.

I 'was' using a Dell Inspiron gaming laptop running Win11 with no problems at all, but now I've upgraded to a lot more powerful RTX Gaming lappy. The issues I'm having are also with the 'older' techs, basically anything from M1a backwards. The game initialises then locks up when the reels spin. Occasionally it gets past that but I might only get a couple of spins before it locks up and I have to close MFME via task manager. I never had this problem before. Everything is up to date with drivers etc.. so I'm a bit stumped to be honest and usually I'm quite tech savvy when it comes to stuff like this. As @Altharicwill remember it used to be the Realtek sound drivers that used to cause problems with older versions of MFME. I might investigate that option unless anyone has any other ideas. Thanks
Altharic
That affected mfme 2.0 if I recall correctly when Wizard rewrote mfme that bug went away Dells are usually pretty bulletproof have you run dell update?

Thanks Worrying times this. I've yet to go to Win11, but we always knew the day would come when issues may well develop like this. Hopefully it's a one off and can be fixed through some configuration options / driver updates etc. But it may not be long until we need to look at a Virtual Machine to keep MFME running. It’s not a Dell, I’ve gone for a MSI now and all updates are done as far as I can see.
wearecity
If it is possibly a sound driver/device issue, have you looked under file/preferences (without a layout loaded) and had a change about with the audio device, in the bottom right hand corner of the screen. Yep, no other option apart from Realtek which uses default settings same as my other laptop.

Just trying to eliminate possibilities, have you tried, to attach the laptop up to a monitor or TV and select the TV/Monitor in the audio option and have it play through HDMI. I have an MSI laptop on Windows 10 and my previous one, was on Windows 8 and neither had an such issues. My Windows 10 laptop, isn't with me at the moment, so can't see what my audio is set to. Will have it available tomorrow.

It's really annoying but at least I still have my old laptop for MFME is necessary.
Altharic
How about disabling sound in the bios see if the issue stays that way you know if it's sound or not?

Tried that in device manager (see pic). I'm assuming I'd get the same if it were disabled in BIOS.
dondplayer
Don't know if Windows still has it but there used to be a startup mode (in addition to normal and safe) where you picked whether each driver/service started up - maybe use this to determine if something specific is bothering MFME. Your box will be CASHPOT

Hmm, its a thought but EVERYTHING else is running fine. In fact MFME is running fine but only on certain newer techs. It's the old stuff that's locking up such as my beloved JPM Poolplay. thealteredemu
@dad Do you get a crash screen or does it just hang? I know there are some strange situations whereby mfme requires an internet connection. J

I even tried switching to onboard graphics and disabling the main RTX GPU. That didn't work either.
