Question to iPac2

Hi there, 

I managed to tell my Azkoyen hopper to start the motor with a relay bet ween pacdrive and the 24V hopper. 

Now, I have to connect the coin output of the hopper to my ipac2 for counting the coins. 

Can anyone say how to do this? 

I guess, there are 24 Volts on the coin output which is not too good for the ipac...

This is information taken from 123's thread in cabinet building.

So you have the following connections :

Pins 1,2 & 3 = 24v +

Pins 4,5 & 6 = Ground

Pin 7 = Start Hopper - Goes to PAC Drive

Pin 8 = not used

Pin 9 = Coin detect - goes to I-PAC

Pin 10 - Not used

I have never used a relay with Azkoyens before.

I connected the Azkoyen hopper to 24 Volts that do not come from the PC. 

Start Hopper goes to pacdrive - working. 

Coin detect goes to ipac - not working. 

Ipac ground is PC ground, so what can I do?

I think you need to ground the 24v to the other grounds. You need a common ground throughout. This has cropped up in a few build threads, so have a look through a few.

You are right, thank you, there must be ground for the coin signal, 

I guess I will use an optocouplsr, just to be safe
