  1. If you're happy to wait, there is one here slightly cheaper from germany https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/193733260004?hash=item2d1b66f2e4:g:JwoAAOSwkHJfnxCd Its a shame they are so expensive at the minute, I found mine around £15 each 2nd hand from ebay. Seems there aren't many parallel ones available. As for wiring. use whatever wires you want, but these are good kits to have: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/303426594516?hash=item46a5a266d4:g:JBcAAOSwcrJeCu8Z You can use one of the 5x2 black connectors as these fit perfectly into the azkoyen hopper, then just add your wires yourself. VCC (x3) - 12v power source GND (x) - 0v Control - Pacdrive output 15 & 16 (or just 16 if you only use 1 hopper) Coin - Ipac (any output but set to '[' & ']' or '[' if only using 1 hopper) Hope that makes sense
  2. Yes that is where the note acceptor goes on these cabs. I doubt the hardware or wiring in these would allow for a modern notey anyway
  3. the azkoyen parallel hoppers are a good choice because they are pretty much plug and play with MFME and no additional relays etc required once its wired up to your pacdrive/ipac. They also work with virtually every type of coin without modification as @Amusementshas already mentioned, you can use most parallel hoppers but you may need additional relays etc to make them work.
  4. If you right click inside the shortcut box, you can then click 'clear' The button is controlled from what number you put in the 'button number' box. Unfortunately button numbers are found mostly from trial and error when creating a layout so designers first need to figure out which button number corresponds to each button on a machine.
  5. Outstanding work @johnparker007 I am in awe of what you have created for us all so far. For some reason, being able to walk around an arcade and walk up to and play a machine feels so much more authentic than just loading MFME on its own and its so much more immersive. I am VERY MUCH looking forward to the multiplayer element, that has got me really excited. Loving the amazing work here. Also I've just bought a new 165hz monitor and compared to playing on my old 60hz monitor, it is silky smooth and looks amazing Just to add, ive not played many machines, but on the ones I played, all seemed OK and worked as intended except for 'nudge it' which errored on startup the first time, then loaded fine the 2nd so not really much of a bug, more like realism if you ask me.
  6. @johnparker007 keeps an updated bug fix list here: This states it is a known issue at the moment unfortunately
  7. Assuming you have already used a solid colour on the image behind the reels to begin with.... In MFME.. Ensure the reel covers the whole area of the reel space on the image. The reel will be slightly overlapping for now, thats fine. Right click the reel --> Properties. Click Overlay tab. Right click the chequered area, and click create overlay. Then right click the image that appears, and click transparency --> Set from centre Apply This will only work if you have used a single solid colour on the photoshopped image where the reel is to go.
  8. You can tell probuilder is not designed for creating objects in this way. Its geared more for designing simple game levels etc. I just wanted to see if I could put some shapes/blocks together to make some simple props for AcradeSimulator. Still took a while to get used to the included tools, and I did view a lot of Youtube videos to help along the way. I did look into the other programs you mentioned, and saw they were 1) not free, and 2) a much steeper learning curve. I love the idea of having a catalogue of props (with many user created items) from which you can choose and placed into the arcades and am glad @johnparker007 has plans for something like this in the future.
  9. Unity. Then add in ProBuilder Exactly what I thought when I was doing it. Made a couple of things for that game too many years ago lol
  10. Thanks for letting me see what it looks like in the arcade. That's made my day just seeing that
  11. Good evening. @johnparker007 I had a couple of hours spare tonight was thinking about how it would look great if we could add custom models to the acrades. Things such as change machines, water dispensers, plants, tea/coffee machines and the like... So, for the very first time I downloaded and fired up Unity & ProBuilder and attempted to create a 3D model of a change machine. This is what it turned out like. I was wondering if this sort of thing could be imported into the program and when the app gets further developed, these type of objects could be dropped into arcades, just like machines are. If its any help, I can send this model across to you.. Only thing is I have to work out how to export it first
  12. I like the idea of the attract mode when viewing machines. Thats a nice touch. On my cab, it is only a static image and it plays a chosen sample from the machine that best represents the machines feature music. I like the please wait screen too, perhaps (although adding to the time taken to customise each machine) the please wait image could stay for as long as the machine typically takes to boot (as each machine is different).... Except DES machines. It would look like the cab has frozen, they take far too long.
  13. I think you are doing all you can to get the most out of the screen space. As @Amusementshas already mentioned, if you feel the machine looks too stretched, all a space to the top of the layout which will force it further down the screen.
  14. That's a great idea Reg. Some of the older scorpion 4 machines which have 2 hoppers play havoc with my setup for some reason. Something to do with how the 2 checkboxes are used in MFME. I've tried allsorts to fix it and am assured that it can be fixed, but I've given up with those particular machines for now. It either pays out from the wrong hopper or fails to read the coin count and empties the hopper instead. I think this is a great idea for single hoppers setups which will alleviate that problem. Thanks for sharing
  15. Thanks so much @Reg. But trying to help others build their own cabs is a thrill in itself. I love following everyone's design threads and seeing the updates. Way back in 2016 I decided I would try to build my own cab (back then, MFME didn't have any pacdrive implementation so I had to think of workarounds for practically everything. Payouts were worked out after quitting a game, by working out the difference between the TotalOUT figure from starting and exiting a game taken from the .GAM file. Lamps were 'always on' and different machines would trigger different combos of lights to be on depending on what buttons they used. It was all very sloppy. But I really loved the idea of being able to insert real coins to play machines and then the sound of coins hitting the coin tray when you collect a bank. I had no knowledge at all with mechs and hoppers etc. Initially for the hoppers, I found this website: https://www.casino-software.de/shop/en/Hardware/Boards/HOPPER-Interface?source=1&refertype=10 Spoke to the guy who created it and he helped me on how to implement this board for what I needed. It was originally created for vending machines I believe. But this worked perfectly and a massive thankyou to Bernd who created this over in Germany for help with that. I had to study the coin mech manuals for pin-outs and how they operated, I had little clue on circuits and that sort of thing, so kind of winged it with some old mechs and thankfully managed to find a way to wire them up that would work well with MFME. I then started my project and created a thread over at fruit-emu to see if anyone would be interested: https://www.fruit-emu.com/forums/topic/51381-mfme-machine/ I coded my own front end bespoke to my build which I still make tweaks to to this day. Anyway, as it turns out, it piqued a few peoples interest as in the next coming months other people started to create theirs. @uptown47 @WibbleWobble @Road Hog Mad to name a few off the top of my head. And of course yours, @Reg and subsequently we had the new forum areas to talk about each others' creations. And then the late, great @Wizard added functionality for the pacdrive into MFME, and that was a GAME CHANGER. suddenly we had instant payouts and flashing lights. Naturally it meant I had to re-do my cab wiring and I also made some changes to the cab itself to make it as small as I could with what the hardware would allow. I love seeing other people getting on board with it all and seeing everyone's visions for how they want their cab to be. I'm really glad you got yours going in the end Reg, It is still strange yours won't work with 12v, as I have 2 and both say 24v but work perfectly (I don't notice any slowdowns either) on 12v. Not that it matters, if its now working, that's all that matters. I really do look forward to seeing the additional progress you make.
  16. I bought a kit like this: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/124149282612?hash=item1ce7dfb734:g:IZcAAOSwZdtejf2G and made my own 5x5 block using dupont wires. The 3 VCC wires go into a terminal block and merge into a single wire which then goes to one of my PC's 12v sources. Same with GND, except spliced into one of the black PC wires. From the video you uploaded, it looks like you are only clicking (rather than holding mouse button down) on the test all button. My hopper acts in the same way if I don't hold the button down.
  17. OK so I've just taken a look at my cab.. mode 1 is what the hopper needs to be set at, so remove the jumper on the bottom if it is present. I also went into pacdrive settings with config all set up. If I hold down test all the hopper spins continually until I release the button. If I press test hoppers they both spin up and time out after about 30 sec or so. If I then press test hoppers again, nothing happens until I restart mfme.
  18. @Reg Did you connect the hopper to either output 15 or 16 on the pacdrive? If you did, you need to change the output in MFME to match. I can't get to my cab at the min to compare but I will do asap and report back Ooooooh... Also check the 'mode' on your hopper. I seem to recall Mode 0 is what you need
  19. Looking forward to hearing how you get on tomorrow. Now to get the 2nd hopper You need one for all the 10ps or 20ps now
  20. I merged them all into 1 single 12v and 1 single 0v line
  21. Cant wait to hear how you get on. Good thing about these hoppers is they take any type of coin too. Good luck!
  22. I've posted a crude but usable image somewhere else recently on here. Ill see if I can find the thread.. Yes that ebay listing is the one you need but that is very expensive for one of those. I only paid about 15-20 for mine used.. also those 24v ones run fine on 12v albeit might run slightly slower with a full hopper. Edit: diagram here. Again it was only designed for my own use so I'm sorry its a mess.
  23. @Reg if possible I would ditch that hopper and use an azkoyen U hopper. If the cab can be adapted to make it fit that is. Wiring for those is so straight forward and perfect to be used in conjunction with MFME. I think this cab deserves the full cash experience if possible. As for the coins falling through, that would require a simple routing plug creating depending on which exits from the coin mech you want all your coins to go. (Check the manual for help on that) Good luck with the 2nd project, you know full well you will want it 100%
  24. Hi John, just wanted to put it out there, that of course you can use any of my releases in your program. Who doesn't want to see their creations come to life like this? Truly amazing work so far!
  25. Now crop the bottom fit that "max monitor res" has created. To get to the bottom bit, change window size to something small, then pull out each edge until correct.
