  1. So just finished wiring up my 8 button test controls using a shoebox! with an Ipac and pac drive. Ipac was pretty simple to setup but can I setup the pac drive from just within mfme or do I need Led blinky? also for the few layouts that use a different button say for exchange; "x" instead of "e" for instance, should I edit the layout to match my Ipac key of "e"? Hope that makes sense. I will add some pics soon. Thank you
  2. Silly question maybe I noticed on reg's very helpful controller build that a usb hub is used. I take it that you don't have to actually use one if you have enough USB ports on your PC already? I only ask as my controls are in my machine cabinet and not seperate so 2 cables will be fine as not seen. Thank you guys !
  3. Oooh thank you. I will give this a go
  4. Yes your right. No way is going to be perfect. It's very annoying trying to get some buttons. It seems you cannot buy them anywhere at the moment. I've messaged Andy at Arcade World. Waiting for a reply. My ipac and pac drive arrived today so eager to get things wired up!
  5. Hi Dave Cabinet looks great. Well done! How did you add the game logos to Touch-Play and where did you get them as I would like to add in my setup. Thank you
  6. Yeah I will be ordering the 5v leds with the buttons when they're back in stock.
  7. Yes was thinking something like this. Does anyone know of anywhere to download different inserts to print?
  8. Here are those buttons. Unfortunately only 2 colours are in stock at the moment
  9. Interesting thanks Looking on Arcade World they do 32mm buttons which would suit better and I can fit 12 (see pic) so will make life easier. I will order now just have to work out colours
  10. Aah really appreciate that Gary. Yes that's exactly what I was trying to put across. So unless anyone else has any input I feel it's better to have separate buttons so I will probably end up going this route :- Start Hold Hold Hold Cancel Transfer Exchange Barcrest I can always use the touchscreen for Collect and any others on the top glass as you say. Cheers again
  11. So I'm building a small control panel for my small touchscreen bartop. It can only fit 8 buttons. I was thinking :- Start 3 holds Cancel/Collect Transfer/Exchange Barcrest And one other. Not sure yet Will I run into problems having 2 keys as one button at all? is it possible to have this with an ipac? Will some machines cause problems if they usually have separate "Cancel" and "Collect" or "Transfer" and "Exchange"? Any help much appreciated! What buttons would you have? I'm really not sure what would be best. Not fussed about the 4th hold as won't be using club machines. Thank you
  12. Does anyone know if its possible to add a volume control for touchscreen so volume can be adjusting in games as its a bit tricky to get to my cabinet speakers. I'm using Touch-Play front end. Thanks
  13. So been wanting to do this for a while... The aim is to create a very small bar top solely for mfme running with touch-play frontend. I felt it would save me a bit of time by either modifying a Picade which I have done before for Retropie or an Icade from Ion which I feel would suit better as far more rigid. So so far I have :- Bought an Icade off ebay for £20. Stripped and installed an old 15" 4:3 touchscreen HP monitor I got for £10. Also ebay! Installed a Dell micro PC. £40. Changed the graphics on the side. £9. Cut some trim for the bezel £7. Still plenty to do as you can see. I am planning to just get it up and running with only the touchscreen for now however my plan is to build a control panel utilising some old fruit machine buttons. I'm playing around with different speaker ideas at the moment. I feel sound is very important and the best part of playing these great machines. I will add that I have always had real arcade machines but feel you quickly get bored playing the same old games which take up a lot if space and end up never playing them which is why I have always loved emulation. I have to of course try to fit all the wiring and plugs into what little space I have left. Not looking forward to that!
  14. I've just downloaded Touch Play from the official site yet it says there's an update to 6.03 and won't stop displaying it (see pic). Does anyone know how to update or stop the message from displaying? Thanks
  15. I will need to sort favourites but just testing on a different PC before using in a small cabinet I'm building. you can touch bottom corners of screen to search alphabetically which helps.
  16. Yeah strange one. No one seems to know. There doesn't seem to be a newer version available on the official site yet is says there's an update but no way to actually do it!
  17. This worked perfectly. Thanks again
  18. Good to know. Thanks guys. Hopefully someone can continue Wizards fantastic work one day
  19. Scratch this. I'm going with the ION cab idea !
  20. I have decided 4:3 in portrait is by far the best for fruit machine emulation as the majority of games fit the screen perfectly without huge empty gaps top and bottom. Shame that 4:3 touchscreen monitors as low resolution.
  21. Just wondered what's everyone's favourite layouts? Best for image quality, sound and playability? Maybe we could make a top 10 list?
  22. Hi Guys I've noticed that in quite a few layouts the sounds are only coming out of one speaker (usually the right). Surely even if a machine is mono and not stereo it should come out of both speakers not just the left or right? Saturday Night Takeaway is one of the games with right channel only. Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Thanks
