I think anyone can program nowadays with the advent of ChatGPT etc. Just tell it what you're looking for and it will be able to help. -

Not sure others machines but, for the one I built, I wrote a small accompanying bit of software that tracks the payout value in MFME and just pays out whatever it counts via two hoppers (£1 and 10p) - although it accepts payments from everything from 5p, 10p, 20p, 50p, £1 - so, you are right, for £4.80 in tokens or money it would just chunk out 4 x £1 and 8 x 10p but others might have added other functionality. -
I had a crack at "servicing" my hoppers. Only took 10 minutes. Not sure if I did it right as I was just trying to work it out as I went but thought I'd post it here in case anyone else finds it useful. I used a couple of alcohol wipes, a couple of cotton buds and a lint-free cloth with some furniture polish on it. I took photos as I went and annotated them so that you can see what I did. If you have more knowledge and can add other steps to these or correct me if I've gone wrong then I'm all ears.

What "quiz" machines are out there for MFME?
uptown47 replied to uptown47's topic in Newbies Help Area
Thanks for the link. I've got a quite a few of those touchscreen-type games (albeit the mouse controlled ones as I don't have a touchscreen) but didn't know we had a section here with them in. Will have a browse through. Cheers -

Nice one. I'll check those out then. Cheers. -
Hi all, I really like the old quiz machines that everyone used to gather around in a pub and shout "It's D mate" and then... "Christ Jim!! Only shout out if you definitely know it!!!" I know that we have Barquest, and Strike It Lucky. I wondered if anyone knew of any others? Cheers

Yep I prefer silicon oil. I did use to use WD40 a lot until someone told me that it isn't actually a lubricant. But I'll get the hopper out the machine on Friday and have a proper look at them. It might obvious what to do. If I need to strip them down then so be it. It might even be that they don't really need maintenance but I doubt that. Thanks

Yep that was my first instinct but ideally wanted someone to confirm. I'll probably give it until Friday and then give that a go mate. As the old saying goes... If it doesn't move and it should then use WD4O. If it moves and it shouldn't use gaffer tape.

Thanks for that. Yep, I may need to clean up a lot of the 10p's as they have become very oxidised. I also could probably do with cleaning the coin mech as well but that will be the next question!

Hi all, I've had my home built cab for a couple of years now. It doesn't get hammered but I've noticed my 10p hopper jams more often so wondered what (if any) maintenance is required on these? I thought about just a blast of silicon oil or something but thought I'd best check first? Anyone any ideas? Cheers

This is great fun to play. Just had a quick bash on it now... "Good Hunting"... I take it that the two yellow buttons on the left don't do anything as they don't light up with the attract mode? Also, is the right hand yellow and green (to the left of Start) redundant too? Thanks for your hard work putting this together. Not seen a machine that shows you the reel positions electronically before. Really smart!
