Installed coin mech today, literally a fag papers thickness for gaps lol, so either extreme good luck or I'm an expert measurer.
I had no coin mech holder so had to make my own, the coin mech is held in via 2 screws going through the side of the cab. Easily removable.
I had to do a bit of hacking but have some black type of filler from the Taliban Shop (probably plastic explosive lol), but when it's glossed you won't notice
A BIG thank you to BF74 (Ron) from the Mecca for re-programming the mech and giving me the black coin entry facer. Highly recommended this guy!
*As there is a little gap at the bottom of the coin mech facer I may add a little sticker showing £1, 50p, 20p & 10p (this machine accepts.....)
@Reg @woodsy @cja272
May do a cat video in a few days for you all -

I'm currently on the sick with a wonky shoulder, so its keeping me sane so to speak, having something to do.

Looks fantastic !!!
Fanks! I'll do a more in depth video when its done, I don't like the sound of my own voice though. I have also re-released the software that's running on it for other member future builds, easy to setup and run!

Resize the buttons? What are you talking about?

I think red might be 5V as the additional fan wires are red.

If I recall, them yellow wires with black on them went to the PSU or something on the motherboard. Dunno lol

Properly me?
The last hopper I bought was exactly 20 Squid new with postage, but the coin sizes I use differ from the UK.
The big black "wing wong" hoppers are actually very reliable as they only have a 240v motor and a 12v opto sensor on them. The one in my cabinet has been running for over 3 years now, and I have only recently had to replace one of the external relays so far. The other hopper I use (Blue one) holds less coins has had no issues so far.Yes I believe it was you lol, I was looking for an alternative to those £63 hoppers. Dunno if they'll work with a 12V PSU I have.

£63 for a hopper, there was someone on here who got some cheap wing wong hoppers working, who was that?

Making of thread..
Two heads are better than one, even if they're goats heads or whatever the saying is.
So with this in mind I am after your thoughts and suggestions etc.
As you all know I'm making a small build, all is going well so far apart from 1 button not lighting up and that is due to me having 15 buttons and only having a 16 pin connector of which I need 2 pins spare for the hoppers, which would mean; 2 hoppers and 14 buttons. I'm not bothered to be honest it would look odd with 5 buttons at the top and it is still functional, it just doesn't light up.
Anyway, moving on to power supplies, I do have a spare PC 12V PSU which I can use for the coin mech and hoppers, I'm aware of how to wire up with them and make them permanently on. I do recall my mate ages ago sending me a link to a smaller version of a 12V PSU but it wasn't for a PC (not that it matters) so any form of link to that will be appreciated. As the hoppers are rather expensive, the 12V Azkoyen Universal parallel, £45 each! and I need 2. I do recall someone on here using Taliban Express ones which where like £12 each but they where 24V, so this is where I have an issue, the MARS mech is 12V and the hoppers would be 24V so I'd need some form of 12/24V PSU unless I bit the bullet and spent £90 on hoppers!! Suggestions please! The hoppers would be for £1 and 10p coins.
Needed... Coin entry slot facia, metal coin mech holder, flexible tube (the type that went to the cash boxes on MPU4 machines and that plastic tray which was below the coin mech to direct the coins in to the appropriate tubes. I'm quite happy for donations if you have one lying round in a spare parts bin I'll pay the postage. Obviously I'm working on a tight budget, already spent £107 at Arcade World on buttons, pac drive/i-pacs.
And I think that's it!

Wired up the coin mech today what a cerfuffle that was, nearly threw it in to a chemical fire.
Painted that last bit where the coins go. Beer and pizza time!
