Help lol ive forgotton what i did

Hello folks,
Been a while since i have been on, to say life has been hectic is an understatement,
i formatted a harddrive to use in a server i host and wiped my collection out aarrgghhh
so here i am again, but this time on a mission of mercy lol
I have downloaded some old classics such as timelord dr who and on the buses
and for the love of the almighty i cannot get on the buses to work again
i have mame v5.1, v6.1,  v19 and v20
I remember having to play it on an older machine and then you could save it so that it ran on v19 and v 20
but i just cannot seem to get it to work or even appear in the lists
Does anyone happen to have a version converted that i could have as its my favourite machine
The machine itself is in the legacy section under maygay
