Buttons can be mapped to whatever keys you want but tend to use a common set for consistency across all layouts like:
SPACE for Start Button
1-4 for Hold buttons
~ for Cancel
E for Exchange
C for Collect
0 for £1 coin
etc
-
The key here is not to RAM reset them unless you know how to get them running again
Your defination of "Seems to crash" varies from mine in this instance

IPAC is for inputs, PACDrive is for outputs.
You can use an external power supply for the lamps but bear in mind the pacdrive has a total current limit of 500mA, so driving 16 12v lamps will likely blow it up, this is why people use LEDs in their buttons.

Hello, I am trying to build a cocktail table with mame, pinball and the fruit emulator. I was wondering if MFME is able to rotate the playfield screen in it's own preference options?
Maybe somebody has experience and knowhow about it. So far I learned v20 up supports dual screen, but couldn't find a rotation option.
MFME doesn't have a rotation option, so you would have to set your Monitor orientation to Portrait in the W10 Display settings.

Odd as I've just tried it here and it works fine ( both methods )

If you are running MFME via the cmdline you can add -mode 4 to that to start in Full Screen Mode
MFME -mode 4 "game.gam"

Is there a way to change the keybord mappings globaly so for example change start to S rather than spc? I ask because I have a X-Arcade tankstick and wanted to use the buttons on that. There is a tool to remap them in the stick but then I would need two layouts for MAME and MFME.
No sorry

I'd especially like to thank @Regfor the idea and allowing site donations to be diverted in this way

I think it's the thought and sentiment that's come out of this that really counts.
Exactly, Couldn't agree more

Top left actually, the cursor turns into a X
Not a setting as such and only works in F1, F2, F3 screen modes.
If you have Start in Manager checked in prefs, it will drop back to the Manager Screen rather than exit

Very nice mate but you lost me at ipac and Pac drive lol, now if you would have said pacmanI may have had half a chance of understanding you
There are dozens of threads regarding the use of IPAC and PACdrive with MFME, try using the search function

This was one of the cache of layouts that only ran on the leaked versions of the emulator, V9.4 and V10.1
I have both the layout and appropriate version of the emulator here, will upload if there is no objection from Reg or Wizard.
The layout will not run on any version of the emulator currently available for download from DIF.
I downloaded it from FE, ran it in v5.1 to convert to fml, then unchecked the hopper checkbox and it ran fine in v19.8. A few quick changes to make the bezel clickable and remove the offscreen buttons and it's fine.

Strange as MFME v19 doesn't use that runtime anymore

UK Fruit machines don't have Marquees in the traditional sense.

Yep works on Cluedo as well cheers Clo06.
Same behaviour as with Chain Reaction in that only middle button flashes, game locks up and nothing shown on MFME diagnostics window.
Someone mentioned it might be using an IR port, so hence maybe MFME diagnostics doesn't show or support this.
I'm just interested after all these years to actually see what the machine is doing.
I have now added the output to the diag window in v20. On a real machine it sends this to a IR led so the data could be collected by a handheld device.

Thank you for responding back Wizard Btw program it has Update.exe so I click on it same situation.
I have no idea why it does that, it's not my program so there is nothing I can do about it.
v20 has an updater that I wrote myself, so hopefully these issues will be gone in future.

Erm buy a license?
Not every program on the internet is free. This one is time limited although it will still work after 40 days, it just has a nag screen.

what if you’ve no internet then mfme would be worthless?
Yes it can't magic them up out of thin air, nor would you be able to visit the forums to get them, so it's a moot point.

say a dond £5 layout which requires only £5 roms as £70 won’t work in that layout will it find the exact ones and load them into the layout and what about set up with the note acceptors etc? Will it do that for you?
finally what if you’ve loaded a layout which you already had say cash counter would mfme find the roms and overwrite existing ones which could overwrite a early rom with a later version?
As there are no RAM files provided, it won't be able to set up the ccTalk devices
It only looks on the internet if the required file is not found in the local folder.

They have a battery monitor and will alarm if it's flat. You'll never find one with a flat battery
