Thanks for that, and if the layout is locked right click on the splash screen does nothing I presume
Correct, no ability to do anything aside from cancel out to see the layout notes.

Simple one, I can't seem to find out how to add intro screens to machines, where creators put their logos and controls etc. The newbies guide doesn't seem to cover that, is there any documentation you could suggest to help me get my head around that.
If the layout is unlocked (Implemented as a result of ebay sellers passing work off as their own) then you can enter edit mode on the layout of choice (CTRL & E) then click the notes tab, that will allow you to edit the text there and right clicking load image will allow you to add/remove the splash screen that shows when you load a layout.

Not technically FME-related, but I believe these were in arcades/bars in some countries alongside fruit machines...
"work on PC video cards is still progressing, with the added benefit of fixing MegaTouch XL 6000 graphics this month"
https://www.mamedev.org/?p=529
We also have an initial 3d model from @Spidy21982 for the future (as the new Arcade Sim will directly run latest MAME releases )
Incredible news on the Megatouch front, some revisions "do work" at the moment but are poorly optimized and others have graphic corruptions so hopefully this fixes some of those and leads the way to the newer gemstone systems working (Need my Boxxi/Look Out/Moondrop fix after all these years!)

Question has been answered but worth adding that pressing CTRL & P will also pause/un-pause emulation which has been handy when making classics.

Thanks again Fruitsnappa, plenty for people to get their teeth stuck into!
I also failed to get Rainbow Gold to run, had the 029F issue previously with some of the roms Gary posted a few years back and I believe Wizard was working on some Betcom stuff in the background (RGB Reels/RGB LED Lamps etc), Improvements were made within V20 and 20.1 to allow those games to run but alas Thank you for all you did Wizard
I did make a start on a layout for Immortal 300 as it piqued my interest, absolute nightmare to figure out why reels kept de-syncing but got there in the end, expect it soon If any DXers want the layout in it's current state (Reels mapped, lamps labelled, 7 segs ordered correctly) then feel free to drop me a PM & I'll send it over.
Yes I am aware of the images on your google drive Infection and I am using them, they've been very helpful https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1UQUa6K7mnGtf0J4-7MlE4-oJzSc85heC

Look to be Gamesman 310's for the square, 320's for the rectangle and 330 for the round ones, most modern Eclipse cabinet machines tend to use these.

Rectangle
Round

Free for another 6 days
I'm yet to play it personally but massively enjoyed the previous entries, I seem to recall @Chopaholic uploading a video previously and saying what a steal it was at RRP so now is the perfect time to grab it!

Found it!
Start in door open mode, wait for the read meters screen then hold down Button 8 then press the TEST button on the MFME menu & voila!

Don't forget this era of MPU5 will probably have 2 test buttons - one on the MPU5 and one mounted under the reel shelf. You need to hold one and press the other to enter test mode - wasn't sure if you were aware based on your post
Yeah, it's caught me out before, I know Reflex have a similar design.
Only luck i've had is holding the Test 2 button (24) & pressing start, it clicks as if it's going into test then just goes into normal demo mode, if i hold the other test button as well then press start i get the dreaded "Unused input" alarm on button 0.

it appears wobb_5s.bin is the problematic part of this saga..
THANKS to both of you for saving me the hassle of buying a new laptop after throwing this one at the fekking wall haha
any ideas how i get this into test mode.. as i'm about to give up for the day hah
Other MPU5's are let it boot in open door, at read meters press cancel then press Test, this doesn't seem to be having it so probably a non standard number, i'm slowly getting through the list!

The answer is..............
Change the hopper type to serial.
Thanks for this, I remember struggling for so long with another machine & was saying to @PekoJPF I'm sure it was something triggering a hopper input option, serial hopper completely evaded my thought process!
-
Well, the solution for my issue was the hopper being serial, works fine in open/closed door for me. Using buttons 32 - 39 for Start/Hold/Collect etc

Funnily enough i'd been playing about with this earlier @PekoJPF's request! I did have a similar issue with another MPU5 machine before so will do some digging & try to find the solution.

http://waifu2x.udp.jp/ This is one of the better ones.
Here's a quick comparison with the original 1200 x 1600 on the left vs a 2x scaled one on the right, not sure how well it will show when embedded but I can see a difference on the originals when you compare the text & even the reel symbols. Everything just seems a bit sharper & the jpeg noise is gone!

Drac Pack was released originally on October 19, 2019! However it lacked sounds until recently so most people tend to ignore layouts when they see "mute".
Great to see it being played either way!

Someone pointed this out a while back, Sample 49 on Mazooma's Pink Panther, never heard it in normal play and can see why!

Beat em & eat em on the Atari 2600, Someone beats their meat & the goal is to eat it! Can't imagine the outrage that would cause if it was released today!

Trains - you've never mentioned trains before ?
Have you tried Nimby rails ?
Seen a lot of positive things said about this on Facebook and the proposed updates do make it more appealing, a shame my allocated game allowance has been spent on DLC/EP's but shall be grabbing it next month!

Belated birthday wishes! Thank you once more for all the joy and friends made over the years.

In that case I stand corrected - as for the MFME and MAME argument, I don't know the specifics but I thought that was only in the older MFME and that he contributed some stuff back to MAME to shut everyone up... I am probably wrong again here, but that's what I thought was the case. There are many people that have been around FME a lot longer than me that will know otherwise.
I believe this is the case, to add a bit more detail.... Sometime in late 2015/early 2016 (Around about the MAME 0.170 release) their license was changed to GPL2 but most of the code falls under BSD-3 https://opensource.org/licenses/BSD-3-Clause. I believe Wizard did express his concern around the time of the transition fearing he technically couldn't release a newer version of MFME but the BSD-3 license allows free redistribution as long as credit is given which paved the way for the release of 5.0.

The debug symbols have been stripped, in other words he didn't want anyone else developing their own version of it (best you can do is reverse engineer it) I've checked version 20 and 5.1.
Maybe the original mpu3/4 emulator which I can't find a copy of may shed some light.
Overall it looks like it was written in Delphi which is like VB but the language is Pascal.
Seem to recall the leaked versions were built in C/C++ using Borland C5.

Can only echo the sentiments of everyone else, a great legacy shall live on and thank you for everything you've done.

That may be lost to time but there is also the WAVE.exe tool from @edwardb if you're really willing to get committed... Plus you can also "easily" hex edit a few Empire machines on MPU4 to give it custom text which has been done in the past, Ghost train and Haunted house are good candidates.
