  6. today I found this really cool Caveman emulator of the tabletop here http://www.pica-pic.com/#/caveman/ looks like its an embedded flash and I really want to download it to play offline and keep as an offline copy. I tried the usual firefox tools, page info , media , I normally use but nothing I've tried can get it. tried file2hd as well but no luck with that either. Iast I tried saving the complete webpage but it didn't work. pretty please does someone more tech savvy than me know of a way to get the swf. I've tried a flash decompiler,,disassembler , hex editor in the long distant past to try to reverse engineer online only flash games but it was too beyond my capabilities and I gave up. I found this article with a list , does anyone know which item might be able to grab the embedded swf file ????? (I'm assuming that's what it is) here's the link https://github.com/dsasmblr/game-hacking thanks for any help anyone can give me and some I really just need this caveman one to add to my handheld remakes library carrying on with the thread, here's some more pics of some good ole 80's toys and finally these from v-tech here's a nice site for all your handheld games http://handheldempire.com/games.jsp

  8. Gosh that's a lot of money, if I had that kind of money I'd certainly be spending it on something else, that's for sure. I wonder what the 1st most expensive prop was then I was searching all morning for a particular sound that I'm pretty sure robby made when it was distressed or malfunctioning or something in the film but I couldn't find it at all. so I tried to re-create it on cubase this morning. Sound001forbidden planet robby.wav or I uploaded it temporarily for 24 hrs to this site https://a.uguu.se/6Zi8zJJSSPkK_Sound001forbiddenplanetrobby.wav does this sound familiar ? or is it from a different robot from a different film. It's driving me mad , please help lol
  9. awesome the tabletop games were,we were allowed to take them to school on the last day and I remember someone bringing in computer battleships. where you press the red launch button and a sound effect of a missle would sound and you'd hope for a blast of white noise for a hit, haha god those were the days lol I bought Caveman about 15 yrs ago from a carboot for 30p and I still have it and it still works !!! anyone remember firefox ?? hey guys just sussed if you click once on the image you can resize smaller by dragging the corner boxes before submitting post, cool
  10. yup absolutely correct Wizard, well done. I've never forgotten that red electric monster,it was really good fx for a film of that time period. and it still holds its own to this day
  11. hah interesting ,so that's where it comes from, dx being deluxe I take it ,is that right ? thanks for the info Gary I've become quite partial to Dx's per say also I'd like to thank MikeDX for his amazing emu and donkey kong dx rendition, love it so much

I'll put some pics of some of the ones I remember pretty well g force as i remember ulysses 31 remember the tripods then this one below which scared the living $#*% out of me as a kid anyone recognize this red monster ?? it's from a well known film
  14. The Power of Kroll scared the s*#^ out of me when I was a kid, it starred Tom Baker who was the first doctor I remember well
  15. which SNES super nintendo/famicom games did you like ?? one of my absolute favs was ganbare goeman or known as the legend of the mystical ninja in the west there was so much to do in this game inc bosses and mini games like gambling on dice, horses or entering a maze finding treasure and very much later in the game some wonderful water levels and all round quirkiness. a true gem of a game I highly recommend it. and this one Sküljagger - Revolt of the Westicans it was a pirate themed platform game ,I remember you could blow a bubblegum and float round the screen and get higher in the air the larger you blew up the bubble but careful not to pop it lol

    Starmatch (ACE Coin)

It's not one I've ever known about either,I often just get into a google search of fruit machines and see what turns up
  17. there were loads of awesome games from the arcade like the ones mentioned hyper sports, vulcan venture,r-type,bubble bobble, street fighter, yie ar kung fu,express raider, outrun, space harrier, dig dug, m.a.c.h.3,double dragon etc etc etc tons of classic games I liked most of them inc sindbad mystery (yeah the japanese spelt it like that) also a great game was Tiger Road by capcom and this mach 3 which is awesome a laserdisc game you can play on the daphne laserdisc emulator on which I played a cd image of 677mb as opposed to the giant 11Gb mame chd files or there abouts, f*£% that how could i forget the classics ghosts ' n goblins & ghouls 'n Ghosts
  18. hey thanks Reg,I do remember this game from the arcade I thought it was a bally midway game but i just looked and it was from namco. The spectrum version looks like quite a good representation of the original arcade version so hats of to that.cheers for the remake link I will download that. I'm sure i remember in this game you could leave a dust cloud to send the other racers away or in a spin or something so i looked and found this ,turns out my memory served me well lol. check this for the ps3 a bit of a pacman rally-x hybrid lol PAC-MAN™ Championship Edition DX+ Rally-X Skin (English/Chinese/Japanese Ver.) https://store.playstation.com/en-hk/product/HP0700-NPHB00237_00-DLC0SKN00000RLX0
  19. a really nice remake of the original Donkey Kong on the fabulous emudx which was a bit tricky to get working in combination with using dosbox, then there was a windows exe but I found it to be a bit difficult to get the screen resolutions correct, it was good tho but. anyway eventually i stumbled across Raine32 version rainew-0.64.15. which worked on my system which made it a lot easier to use. really really sorry but I'm not going to post links for this one because about nintendo being a bit like their being, you know lately (which is understandable,I do get where they're coming from even though I'm not happy about it). so this is just a steer to things out there that you may not have come across and I'll leave you to research by yourselves if you so wish to desire. there are 5 games in total which include frogger,galaxian,pac-man,ms pacman (or is it ms pacwoman lol ) with a dx revamp.I think but I'm not certain you need the correct roms in order for it to work (mame ones) but as mame has been updated that many times, a lot of the roms only work for certain versions of mame.and I don't know if the latest version of mame roms (is it 0.198 or 0.203) will work with emudx and raine32. you have to mess about with this one unfortunately as you do with Pc's sometimes but worth the effort in this case anyway here are some lovely screenshots of the emudx in action
  20. here's a fan based remake of Street Fighter a classic capcom title, its made using the m.u.g.e.n game engine . the thing about this one is it lets you fight with ANY of the fighters from the original ,not just ken or ryu. this lets you fight with lee, birdie, retsu, mike, geki, joe, eagle, gen, adon & sagat. it only incorporates 4 buttons light, hard kick, punch instead of the true arcade 6 button which included medium kick, punch and doesn't include the bonus stages where you smash the stone blocks, you know the ones. never the less if you liked Street Fighter you'll love this one,the link is at the youtube video in descriptions
  21. glorious present before xmas, many thanx indeed Reg
