Real life always trumps all this, but nice to have you back all the same... how you managed any of this just blows my mind, so any progress is good progress, no matter how long it takes.
Thank you for all the hard work you put in
Exactly that, it is quite mind blowing! Just look at those lovely cabs!!
As always John, your time and work on this project is greatly appreciated

Good luck!! Look forward to watching this
I had a go earlier and it hasn't lost it's frustratingly harsh gameplay!!

I recently bought a copy of one of the most difficult games on the ZX spectrum. If you can play Abu Simbel Profanation, this would make a decent video, there will be a lot of swearing as it’s such a beautiful, yet frustrating game to play!! Skills beyond pixel perfect running and jumping required!! It was difficult even back then in the 80’s when games were harder!!
Good luck, best to take some calms before play commences

Would you like him to make you a sandwich as well while he's at it

It would only be possible by using same lamp numbers for multiple entities. There is no way of disabling those lamps in attract mode. This has been done in the past I believe. I wouldn’t look pretty to be fair. May as well just have a large font classic.

You can use the same lamp number on another entitythey will both activate as usual

Wow!!! This is shaping up to being the ultimate 3D front end, extremely immersive. Loving the complexity and attention to the tiny details that most people wouldn’t even notice when playing

When connected to a video game can you still hear audio from the other close video games? If so, that’s pretty dope !!
Oh, I just saw the vid and you can hear the other machines, that’s a great touch, really adds to the realism, maybe an option to lower the volume on the closer machines as an option?
Absolutely amazing work here bud

I played the services a lot with a gambling bud of mine. Often my mate would pick me up from work at 4.30pm, we’d often end up back home by 3am or later, then I’d be back at work for 8am. Really burnt that candle at both ends!!
Probably started playing services seriously from around 1993/4. My most memorable memory is of having to squeeze my arm round the back of the pluggable JPM machines as they were all chained to the wall!
Seaside resorts were our main target, many fond memories of week long gambling road trips!!
The 90’s was the golden age of fruit machines, for me at least.

You could purchase a hard drive fully set up emus for HyperSpin I believe. Saves a massive amount of leg work
https://www.retrosystem.store/shop?Collection=Hyperspin+%26+Launchbox
Just a case of buying a cab.
I would sell you mine but I’ve really started to use it in the last few months. But mine was a fairly easy build to be fair. You literally require an empty casino machine really, probably pick one up cheap too.
Id love to help build one for you, I love dabbling but I’m so far away from you and have a few bits on work wise

Let us know if you decide on anything mate, or need advice.
Maybe a HyperSpin setup might be sn idea. I used to have hyperspin running all the emulators, unfortunately nowadays I don’t think it’s the best option it a bit over the top. Still an option though

For a frontend I use LaunchBox/Bigbox, it was a paid for solution but it is probably the best out there. I only use mame but it is a multi system capable front end.

Words of warning won’t do anything really. I don’t see the point to be honest. Best line of thought is if you don’t want your layouts being packed and sold then simply don’t release them, that is the only way to not get upset about it as these disks/usb will always be around.
I don’t actually mind as long as the supplier isn’t making a massive amount of profit and it’s more a service. It’s an attractive package to anyone who doesn’t want to get involved with the scene but just wants to enjoy the emulation and layouts.
I’m not interested in getting involved with mame or pinball or any other old system emulation scene, so these packaged disk setups are ideal. I don’t think you should have to be part of a community to enjoy emulation personally, that’s my personal view only.

This might struggle on a surface pro, I’m not sure on the graphics spec for your device. Best way is just install it to your internal space and try it out, I don’t think it’s GB’s of space.

Unfortunately this really is no different from buying a full set of mame rom disks complete with bezels and artwork, or any other emulation set that comes pre packaged. There are always going to be plenty of people profiting from others work.
I’ve purchased emulation sets in the past, Hyperspin is a good example. I’ve bought both a complete hard drive already to go, I’ve also downloaded from torrents. I’m sure the actual guys that made it possible didn’t receive any of the proceeds either!!

I remember something Chris talked about many many years ago. That Barcrest used a lot of ‘Red Herrings’ in the chr check. Could this be the case with what you are finding on the real hardware Andrew?

I’ve seen that demo. Parts are interactive I believe. It is a scripted experience a real open world game wouldn’t run as nice I don’t think. Still, stunning to watch.
