We don’t have an early version, that I know of. I believe the feature works exactly the same but the rom we have times out after so long.

@avengah Was this a clone or a completely new machine? Wonder if others built with the same base code had the same fault?

Early versions of Barcrest Crystal Maze could be emptied via plugging on the end game, it too had a knack of clearing the bank after a couple of plugs. The way to combat that was just play a credit at a time so you could collect each bank, it didn’t matter if it ripped you on one every now and again but if you had a big bank it would nab it for sure.

It’s doubtful that a lot of extensive play testing around powering machine down goes on to be fair. They have power down code that handles those things but obviously things can slip through, is it a re-occurring win after it’s been plugged? If so it’s likely down to a win flag not being cleared for whatever reason. I imagine playtesting is mainly done in an automated way in this day and age.

Best look toward MAME, I believe they incorporated a lot of the work Chris did on 2.1, but MAME is the only current option for open source fruit machine emulation.

Trouble with the local arcade in question is that they only float hoppers with about 30 quid, so a massive pain to get involved, not a smooth session as i used to do the Magic7 and even when they refloat they literally put max 50, too much hassle as you can easily make a ton on a ram reset if you play it out!!

These are extremely brutal from ram reset for some reason. There is one in a local arcade with a flat battery and a Magic 7 with a flat battery, you can hammer the Electrocoin every day if you wanted. I wouldn’t touch a ram reset Concept programme.

I believe the chuzzy kit connects directly to the cpu socket on the Phoenix board and encrypts and decrypts the game on the daughter board as part of the protection, without the chuzzy board the game doesn’t run, Chris didn’t get around to cracking the encryption sadly.

There were a lot of machines prior to this that had plastic keyboard, Vic20,Acorn BBC, TRS-80 and C64, all released before the Dragon. Vic20 was released very early 1980's, I remember getting one for Christmas 1981 from Rumbelows, remember that shop lol. I was only 9!!!! I remember the following year everyone was playing the ZX Spectrum and took the absolute piss out of me with my low specced machine ha ha.

It won’t be on here but I believe someone did release a stand alone bingo game from recent years, that definitely looks familiar. The game is pretty dire when not using real money.

Just go into edit mode and see what button is assigned to the £1 it will be in that range, so 10p, 20, 50p, token etc.

Not too sure, I can't imagine we have the sound roms sadly.

10.1 is an unofficial version leaked around 2006. You won’t find any newer layouts working on that version.

Also it's important to play from the same game state or else you could just send the machine under percentage and end with slightly unrealistic results, making it a little silly.

It will likely save a little bandwidth?

There was a fairly obscure method to this machine, I’ll try it in the emulator, worked on £25 jackpot machines as well if I remember correctly. Involved playing on 10p but it was guaranteed streak when switches up to 30p play.
Are there any still out there at all?

I know what you are saying thouugh, I can see how they have a repeat limit on some of those digitals, so, like you say it could be a true 50/50 repeat, it's still capped internally, it's just fairer than being mislead.

Ultimately, you are always going to be skint if you are a gambler, unless you are extremely disciplined or have some scam on the go.
I need that buzz to make me feel alive, I ended up finding new addictions, cheaper and less destructive thrills that give me that dopemine hit. I can honestly say that I'm so much better off financially, but mostly I'm better mentally .

I was talking more older reel based AWP machines but I'd say the only truly 50/50 repeat chance on a fruit machine would be BGT Random Replay, it had a bagatelle type repeat chance governed purely by probability. Any others in my opinion are heavilily controlled and dependant on the streak pot value or the actual %.

It’s just how compensated gambling machines work, particularly ones that present the player with a gamble. It would be hard to keep to a set percentage if they offered a true 50/50 gamble.

Ah, apologies for my duff info. I thought even those earlier versions only worked in Win10.

To enjoy the latetst layouts you are going to need to upgrade to Win10 at least. You could get an earlier emulator but you won't find many layouts that will work in those any longer.

I just had a play, it seems when you collect the win and plug it the machine still remains with an unfinished gamble code, strange how it puts you one ahead on the ladder. Still, I'd say coding bug. I notice it has a power down watchdog, 3 power downs in quick succession and the code flags a clear bank procedure, I guess 3 power downs are seen as a little bit suspect so the code kicks in and does it's job. Would indicate that maybe other machines have had issues regarding power downs, but it's likely common practice to have the watchdog monitoring these situations.
